    I love watching you actually craft jewelry by hand. While some wax casting is nice, there is just something fantastic about hand made. There is one ring I love, but don't own. Someone else had a replica made and it doesn't look even close to as amazing as the hand made original.

      Think he explained In another video that he was training as an apprentice at a jewelers and he'd been saving up his wages for the whole time whilst he worked there. Then the company went bust and he used his savings to buy the majority of the companies tools and machines and thats what he initially started with. I imagine he's been upgrading bits since then though.

    It turned out to be a great ring. As a result, is it mobile or not? I think it will be cool to make a version with stones. Why are there few videos using 3D modeling and 3d printing? Are they not really appealing to the audience?

    • @8866ryfxd
      @8866ryfxd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Imo printing and casting literally take no skill so there is nothing to show off.

    • @jewelator
      @jewelator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@8866ryfxd Disagree. Do you think you don't need skills to make a competent 3D model? or to make a quality casting?

    • @8866ryfxd
      @8866ryfxd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jewelator yes that's exactly what im saying. Most of the cad - casted designes are rip offs from bought templates. Seldom does it happen somobdy desgined somethign amazing from scratch (if they do respects to them). Learning curve of 3d modeling is way more flat then that of a true handcrafting, i took me 3 years to develop a skill set needed to make high quality solitaire ring by hand, and 3 weeks to grasp basics of 3d modeling so i could design one and print it. Not even mentioning quality castings which all come down to knowledge and following simple rules like a brain dead.
