MAFEX really nailed the cowl-like was mentioned in the review, the deeply recessed eyes was a feature that really helped in creating more of a demonic look, emphasizing the piercing gleam in his eyes.
Apples and oranges. Batfleck was the best comic book version of Batman. Bale was the best in terms of a ‘real life’ version. Can’t compare the two, they were both fantastic in their own right. The movies however, DCEU never stood a chance against Nolan.
Great review, Anthony. Thanks for taking another shot at Mafex, considering the comic Spider-Man and Venom is about to release. The tactical suit Batman from this line is also a pretty decent piece, and they added wire to the cape on that one.

Jacob Cooper well the “grounded in reality” fight scenes from baleman just simply have the bad guys(with guns) not shoot batman and comes in close one at a time. On the other hand, the “not grounded in reality” fight scenes from batfleck offers an explanation(placing explosive charges on the guns before engaging) for why the bad guys didn’t use their guns.

I think somewhere between Bale and Batfleck, there's the perfect batman. Both have strengths and weaknesses (for instance, I wish Bale didn't have that silly voice and I love the Batfleck suit). That said, if I could only choose one, it'd be Bale. The way he plays Bruce Wayne is so pitch perfect, he has this natural focus and discipline that makes me buy he could become Batman. Maybe if Batfleck had better material to work with I'd feel differently, but the humanity, pathos, and drive Bale brought to the character (especially in Batman Begins) is very difficult to beat.

My dream came true. Finally, we got an official live action Batman who physically looked like Batman from the comics. Unfortunately, the solo movie did not happen. I'm hoping it might be revived, maybe as an HBO Max one.
So glad you finally picked this one up! Tbh, I always wondered why you didn't earlier, but then I understood your problem with MAFEX and qc issues. Still, I knew you were gonna love this Batman! MAFEX got so much better at paintjob and sculpting with their recent releases, only downside is they went up in price a lot! I usually wait for them to drop a bit on Amazon because BBTS's price remain higher than 80 bucks. I got this guy and Tactical Suit Batman for a bit less than 110 dollars on Amazon, haven't regretted it at all, you should get the Tactical Suit one, quality-wise, is basically the same as this one (probably slightly better), but with a bendy wire on the cape, which makes it fantastic. MAFEX Justice League Superman is also pretty fantastic too, leagues above the previous one. Give it a shot to MAFEX, they might make you pretty happy. MAFEX Flash will blow your mind with the paintjob details. Cheers!
I love this figure and agree with you that it’s the best sub 1/6 version. As far as batfleck vs bale....the looks are so different I can’t say which is best...fleck is a miller style which I love and bale is a more movie style. As for acting I prefer bale especially as Wayne. Although bales Batman voice is kinda goofy but not bane goofy.

I'm eying the Mafex Batman Hush that is supposed to come out soon, and Im using this review as a basis since it's early. I'm hoping they're better than the figuarts or the DC icons considering how by now, all the good ones of the past are almost the same price as these high end ones anyways.

I really wanted Mezco to do this version You should never compare Bale and Affleck because they are in a different universe. The Dark Knight trilogy was anchored in the reality, there are no meta humans, gods, amazons.. Bale was the Bruce Wayne/ Batman "more human", young, not really dark, enjoying his playboy life. While the version of Batfleck, it's the Frank Miller version: old, dark, sinister, brutal, anchored in a fantastic universe (meta humans, aliens,...) I love both of them! Bale has proven track record, he was great. Same for Affleck, he's really good, I love his Batman, his brutality in BvS, it is really his character but I didn't like the fact that he kills and for sure they ruined him in Justice League, in BvS was nearly the perfect Batman (besides the killing)
I thought BatBale was unbeatable, especially after the last sequel. But I must say: BatAfleck. Of course Katon is responsible that I love Batman movies. Same with Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill as Superman. That's it. I'm old school, two favorite superheroes are good enough for me.
Yep I had that same issue with my BvS mafex batman exactly the same arm and Everything !!!! My only gripe with mafex is how cheaply and flimsy it can feel whice is so disappointing , Because the Detail in the figure is so unbelievable with the dumbest issues !!! Still a awsome piece
The batman v superman mezco benafleck is the best live action batman figuire it keeps very good articulation and is jus flawless in design looks jus like the movie except the grey is a little light which is more comic accurate its a mini hot toys ... nuff said
Batflick, to me he physically embodies what I imagine a cinematic Batman should be. Dark Knight is just impressive as a movie, Bale was good but not best Batman.
With my sh figure, I replaced the torso dumbbell joint with a larger one and it makes the Batman the perfect size. I still prefer that figure to my medicom one. my medicom figure just does not hold up. Oh and definitely Ben Affleck is the best in my opinion
I respect everyone's opinions, but I just don't see how Batfleck is the best on screen Batman. In BvS he's a murdering psychopath and in Justice League he just isn't Batman at all. The DCEU ignores everything that makes Batman an interesting character. Bale's Batman is the best one by far in my opinion.
Yeah, BatBale acts more like an actual detective and his movies are 10x superior to BatFleck! BatFleck is just all “style over substance”, although in BvS BatFleck pulled some pretty thrilling, kickass moves.

This one is solid. You should also check out the Tactical Suit one from Mafex as well. Same quality as this with a wired cape
