I used to be a blogger in my former life and I agree the time it takes to make the food, take the pictures, edit the pictures, write the copy, etc is more than anyone expects unless you've done it. Thank you for making such thorough, well thought out videos. You are always the top of my list of youtubers I get excited to watch when I see a new video post!
I have to say, one of the things that drew me to your channel and kept me watching was the fact that you were often not wearing makeup and just in casual clothes. When it looks like someone spent an hour+ getting ready before they clean their house or cook dinner I just can’t relate 😂.

I could never click with them as I do with your channel. They seem fake-ish or less genuine. I compare them all to yours. Yours just seem more relatable (and funny and entertaining!).

Yes I love my kitchen gloves. My favorite is the brillo brand ones because they are super big. They go to my elbows. I hate wet sleeves (I wear long sleeves nearly year round) even with rolling them up i still get wet. Hahaha those Brillo ones are AWESOME 👌 ....... or maybe I have short arms 🤷🏼♀️😄
I love that the kids get off school for potato harvest! The schools in my town used to close (up until very recently) for the week of a local horse racing festival and we would be so excited about it 😆

Yes! I love Cathrin’s channel, I’ve learned a lot. So much about this resonated with me. I’m actually doing my hair and makeup as I watch this because I’m getting ready to film an intro for a crockpot video I’m currently editing.I totally get the feeling of wanting the background to be clean. I have scrapped entire video clips because the stupid microwave was blinking in the background. 😂 Great video. Thanks!
Best Walmart grocery pick up hack - use a large storage tote to lug it all inside without the plastic bags. And an insulated soft tote for the cold items.

One of my other favorite YTers (Safiya Nygaard) has been showing a lot of her editing process via Instagram stories, and I think it's really valuable for viewers to understand just how much more work goes into a video beyond pressing play on the camera. Quick tip for the next time you use your blender multiple times. Add water and a drop of soap to the container and run for a second, then rinse. That will mostly clean it out so you can make your next thing.

tips from an electrical safety engineer's daughter: if you leave small appliances plugged in they draw a small amount of power & that power draw into the cord will ultimately wear down the appliance faster if it is receiving passive charge all the time (the same reason why it is best practice to unpug your phone charger from the wall when not in use/not lavinf your phone plugged in for a long time after fully charged). speaking of phones, if you didnt know, leaving the phone charging overnight/after it is full will eventually wear out the battery faster; the first time you use a phone/phone battery, charge it up all the way the first time then use it until it dies that first charge, then after that charge it all the way up again & after that point KEEP IT CHARGED ABOVE 80% AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. this maximizes the life of your battery because in lithium ion batteries the crystals inside it grow when it is left on lower charge the longer it is left on lower charge & then it literally cannot hold the same mount of charge anymore after long enough which is one of the main reasons phone batteries crap out quickly or lose charge quickly after a while. also a good idea, just like with a regular computer, to restart or shut off/power up your phone once a day to clear out stale/stalled processes, which also helps with battery life because it removes some of the stress on the processor. blessings to all!

We don’t get potato harvest break in my part of Idaho ☹️. Where I grew up in Arizona, we would get Rodeo Days break.

Can you do a video how long things last in the fridge and/or freezer ? Like vegetables, fruits, leftovers or meat ? I know you did a video where you used freezer burnt chicken so maybe a video on what you can do when things aren’t looking so great anymore. I feel the same way when i do wallmart pickup. They use SO.MANY.BAGS!!!!!!
I got lucky today. Whoever picked my order today did good and used a reasonable amount of bags.
FYI from a Walmart on-line grocery personal shopper...one shopper does not pick your entire order. There could be up to 8 separate people shopping for your order, then it all gets compiled in your order totes. Hence the multiple bags. I know it can be irritating, but you can return the bags to the store for recycling.

Hey girl I just wanted to let you know that I have the exact same sink and I’ve had it for over a year and in that time I realized I should’ of gotten the metal things that go inside the sink so nothing touches the bottom of it makes sense. After this year my sink is so scratched up because of the black you can really see it so I’m trying to help you out before you know it gets ruined. 😃

There’s something oddly satisfying watching someone else clean their kitchen. 😁
Forgive me for being a geek but not only do you have a calculator on your laptop, Google can do calculations for you, just enter 1.5 x 3 in the search box and hit enter and you'll get the result and a fully functional calculator on the results page. On top of all that you're on a Mac laptop so you have Spotlight (CMD+Space) simply press those two keys and type whatever you want to work out into the little box that pops up and it will give you the result. Side note if you use Spotlight a ton and want an upgrade take a look at Alfred. Okay, that's enough from me.

I am so jealous of your kitchen, I have the same layout in my house except about 1/2 the size of yours, and there are hanging cabinets over the counter where the dishwasher is. And no pantry. It's not good man, not good. Your kitchen is goals.

I get home with groceries and make my kids carry everything in and put it away. I tell them I go to the store, put it all in the cart, then put it all on the register, put it all back in the cart, then unload it all into the car. They can at least bring it in and put it away if they want to eat.

I guess I'm the odd duck out. We bought our house last November. Came with a dishwasher - never had one before. It's only 4 years old. I. HATE. IT. I actually asked my husband if we can take it out when we remodel/ update the kitchen (original 1956 kitchen except for appliances). He said he'll take it out sooner and replace with shelves for me. I've downsized so much in my kitchen it's easier to wash by hand.
Different strokes for different folks!! It can be very convenient, but handwashing can be more thorough if you don't mind the time spent doing it. If you're like me, my family uses a plate every 20 minutes and a cup every 10. I don't think I could do it without a dishwasher
@@bustin9549 I kept out I set of dishes per person (plus one set since daughter's bf is usually here) and put the rest away for company. Told hubby and kids they need to wash up what they use or they have nothing to use. We'll see how this works since it's still new, but so far so good .
Not only you. I'm 35 & have never used a dishwasher. I don't even know how to work one. I grew up handwashing dishes & I'm teaching my kids the same. I don't shame those who use it either. We all have different ways of doing things.

I've never understood the british and American insistence in using a sponge and rubber gloves. In Denmark we use dish scrubbing/washing brush. Either with stiff bristles or softer ones. And your hands are nowhere near the hot water.
I belong to the blonde eyelashes club as well. The struggle is real!

I HATE non-stick pots and pans 😬 I mean, to each their own 🤷🏻♀️ BUT, if you get a high quality pan that isn’t non-stick and you season it, it works even better than a non-stick pan. HIGHLY recommend getting a quality cooking set even if you prefer non-stick. So worth the extra money! (Also, sorry but I also hate camo 😬😂)
I have blue light blocking as part of my prescription and it's great. Definitely needed for us tech people on screens all day!
