Is Alma, Missouri the UMRV for All Platforms? One detail makes it great!

- Alma, Missouri US by Celobuki just released on the Mod Hub for All Platforms. Is this new map essentially a UMRV for all platforms and if so, does this one detail the key to making it great?
The map is available for all platforms and is approximately 887MB in size.

As a person who has lived in Missouri for a long while im glad to see a Missouri map
I've not lived in Missouri, but I've driven through many times. The subtle details make this map really nice.
And to be clear. UMRV is amazing. I'm just happy this map is now available for everyone including console players.
I’m on console and have just started on this map. It’s very good and so far I’m enjoying it. If I had to make one negative comment it would be the vehicle shop is a long way from the farm and it takes ages when buying and swapping out vehicles to transport them all back to your yard but apart from that yes it’s good, nice details and well laid out. I’m in the uk and never been across the pond to the states so I don’t know how realistic it is to the true lay of the land.
The game does make it difficult on console to buy equipment from a dealer that is a long distance away. From what I see online, the biggest difference between US and UK farms is the overall size and spread of buildings. Here, many of our rural farms tend to be fairly spread out, big buildings and big equipment that is probably way to big for your roads and lanes.
Definitely the answer the UMRV for console players. Had the same thought immediately after seeing a glimpse of this stellar map.

Yes I started a new adventure the moment this was released. I abandonned my UMRV savegame for this. This map really is one of a kind.
Awesome to hear you like it. I realized I didn't mention another benefit of this map being all platform. That is performance. I've got a UMRV save game, but with tons of mods I get performance issues. Moving to the smaller Alma map, my system just handles it better. Happy farming and thanks for the reply!
This map is pretty chunky for a console, but after I looked at it, I decided I had to do it. One interesting thing... I thought the shapes of the fields north of the main farm must be exaggerated. Normally you'd see irregular shapes due to actual natural obstructions. But the fields by the main farm seemed to be irregular for no reason. I thought maybe he was just getting creative. But I looked at actual air photos... It does appear to be that way in real life. I would love to know why. You see that kind of thing in places like the UK, just because they were very random with choosing property lines hundreds of years ago, but you normally don't see it in N America.
My guess would be contour of terrain? I was just in Iowa IRL and the google earth view made everything look flat. But I was surprised about how hilly the area actually was with some deep crevasses and creeks.
I love it that's how missouri and small town USA should be.

The first map on console that reminds me of the corn belt. Imo, for consoles, this is the best running and looking u.s. map. Load screens on map page loads quicker than ever before. Take notes guants, this is how its done for consoles.
I noticed the load time too. Very fast even with my mod folder. No errors in the log either. I’m on PC but I def appreciate a console map that works well.
Alma is a great map. The only problem is the fields are very small. Would have to farm the whole map to get the same as 1 farm on UMRV
That is true. Though, I’m doing a series in Wisconsin where I do farm the entire map and it’s actually a lot of fun. Maybe combining some fields in Alma could make some bigger fields.
@WithTheStovers the map fits the area irl very well. He did good on the Iowa map but knocked it out of the park with Missouri. The only thing that would make it feel more realistic would be Amish farms along the highway
Wow, looks really good. Do you think it would work well with vintage playthroughs? I like to use 80s and early 90s equipment for my series on my channel. Would this work for that theme from your drive around?
I think it will play very well for vintage play through. The only thing that would be somewhat off would be traffic/vehicles as they are modern models. However you could turn that off.
Yes, the way the town sits on the far side of the map and the rest of the area is farm/fields, you could absolutely farm the entire map with one central farm. Would be a ton of fun.

Good map I don't like how you can't get to the other town it's blocked along of blocked places in the neighborhood and all you can't go far than it lets you but higg. Vill the other town I thought for sure we was able to go there
I think the idea was the putter part of the map would be expanded to give you the feel of something bigger. Giants limits the all platform maps in size. So the maker did what he could.
It def helps with the real feel.
I like both maps but UMRV is still the best map
I completely understand. I’m just happy a map has come to all platforms that is very much like UMRV.

Upper Mississippi River Valley is better in my opinion
I agree as a PC player. More land and more realistic trademarked items like gas stations, restaurants, etc. However, for console, this is a great mini UMRV in my opinion. Great to have options. Cheers.
This map will be hard to beat.
Especially for an all-platform map.
Alma is absolutely unplayable for consoles.
What is causing all the problems?
@@WithTheStovers don't ask me I'm not a mod tester all I know is that I can't look around without constant hiccups. No mods installed either. Frontier is more playable on consoles than this crap.
@@ocdfarming7245 that sucks. Sorry to hear it’s not working. I started Frontier and enjoyed the idea of having a big city nearby.
@@WithTheStovers yeah only played that one for a few hours then it crashed my system 15 times in a row. Still better than Alma, that one crashed my system like 50 times. My fault for playing on ps4 still, sucks you gotta be rich to enjoy games nowadays.
