Loved this! Thank you both for clearing some of the cobwebs in my head! I'm alone, in my own world, in my interest of the Tudors and Plantaganets, so knowing you two are out there makes me fell a tad less wierd!

Hearing Sari Graham got her first taste of the Tudor court at the age of 12/13 is so similar to me. I'm only 12 and I got my taste of the war of the roses (I researched Anne Neville- the queen of Richard III before doing actual the war of the roses) around late summer last year. All of my friends never understand what I'm talking about, except for the girl sitting next to me bc I ramble too much about it. One thing led to another, I'm now all about the Christendom in this period. Thank you for the most amazing podcast about the war of the roses I've ever come across.

I'm reading a series of books on the war of the roses and this was just fantastic at consolidating the background of those involved. Thank you!! Great work!

I just checked with the guest from that show - she made an honest mistake. Thanks for calling attention to it. I cannot fix it at this point.

So King Henry VII 's parents being so closely related might explain why he ( and his son) was so ... different.?

Strange listening to the Canadian/American accents but getting used to it, great content!

Do NOT think you are learning history if you are reading Philippa Gregory books. She grossly misrepresents the true character of a lot of her characters.

I get the divisions to identify specific people, but aren't the Tudors directly Plantagenet descendants?

Yep. Henry VII was descended from a bastard line of Edward III's 3rd son, John of Gaunt.

@@katherinek2709 Yeah, wasn't Henry Vii's only connection through his mother Margaret Beaufort. A Lancastrian. History is very interesting! I like how he was careful to claim the throne by virtue of conquest. Marrying Elizabeth of York was super smart. I admire him, and also don't at the same time. Margeret Beaufort had been plotting his future for years. What do you think really happened to Edward's kids in the tower? Seems to me he always slept with one eye open, and sort of halfway doubted his claim to power. Just correct me if anything is wrong. Just watched a few documentaries here on TH-cam. I'm very grateful though, I love learning about different periods in history. If I would have never learned outside of public school, I wouldn't know very much at all imo. Good day to you!

I really so enjoy your talks but why not stop sniping at Philippa Gregory? She writes historical fiction. Please.
