"Is it bad that I just think of GMod when I see most of these models?"
It's the primary reason Half Life 2, despite being amazing even years later, can never *completely* grip me with its story and setting; because whenever I see, for example, Gman doing his foreboding speech at the start, all I keep imagining is him with a traffic cone on his head, a melon in his hand and the biggest stupidest grin on his face.
I used to put TVs on his feet as his shoes, still funny to me.
Yeah, for many younger gamers it's basically impossible to enjoy Half-Life 2 even 10% of what it was in 2004. Not only has it set standards for the entire gaming industry, so things that were revolutionary and mind blowing when it came out today are like the basics which you don't even notice, because you expect them, but it has also been reduced to a joke by things like Garry's Mod which today is way more popular than the game it was based off. How many times have you heard a kiddie ask "is this from GMOD??" when they see Half-Life 2?
Young gamers will never know the feeling of popping this fucker in your PC.
