Did this fix the leak permanently? I have watched several videos and this is actually one of three places a leak can occur in the same area. If the leak continued after that it would probably be one of the other two places.
Yeah, honestly in some cases you don’t need to but it’s best to do it since there’s a lot more room when you remove the solenoid to replace the gasket. 👍
@JayPlays792 newb? What's that? Well then, don't change it. As an old school mechanic I have been building cars since the 70s. That's about 30 years before you were an itch in your dad's shorts. Try the simple things first, and you may be surprised.. my advice? Move out of your mom's basement, delete WOW from your computer. That ego will shrink as soon as you dry up behind your ears.
@@GgRae-gv1tg I knew you were a mechanic by your response what I'm saying is if it's not broke don't fix it ! I did my first transmission at 16 no help have done drive shafts brakes etc since! If a 8 dollar gaskets fixes this issue why add to it if the Pcv needs done in sure we will figure that out! You probably would take the cowl off an charge extra to a 30 minute job is my point! I don't like machinics at all they always stick it to us when they can save everyone a buck or two! I bet this man never changed his Pcv value and doing fine!!! 😂
Great job this is the first time I've seen it done without removing the extra parts like the cowl great job man 💯🙏

It's fixed it for now. From what I've read, the PCV valve is another common leak. It's pretty close to the Vtec solenoid.
What year and trim is Mindy’s civic?
2012 Ex
Don't forget to replace the PCV VALVE, that leak is a symptom of a stuck PCV. valve

That will be next on the list. Thansk for the heads up!
Your a newb it's always this part an this part only never seen it be a Pcv value! It's the gasket quit mudding up the logic to a simple repair!

Is this the R18 engine?
Yes it is.
I literally just had to change my vtec solenoid on my 03 crv
It seems likes it's a common leak on all Hondas
@@Mylifeinthepits must say yours was a little easier to get to . On the k24 in the crv it’s in the back , in the firewall side
@@jamesbishopproject6375 I'm doing spark plugs this week on a k24 Crv. Wish me luck!
