New sub here, loving your channel and your great personality and awesome ideas! Also I’m a bleach girl too 😅 goodness the WD 40 was an awesome idea 😮 THE PORCH IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! and so,colorful and put together perfectly.
I hit like before I even watched the video because I knew it was going to be great. You did not disappoint. You've motivated me to do a refresh of my own space.
You are such an inspiration. I love how you are realistic & in tune with your viewers about how much one person can accomplish. The way you breakdown the tasks & finish one area at a time makes me believe I can accomplish huge tasks too if I follow your work ethics & methods. Please keep adding more videos to your channel for truly easy DIY. Thanks a lot.
It is heavier with less drainage, but if u put rocks in or mix some sand in it, it will help with drainage. However, that being said, I don’t use topsoil in my pots. I use potting soil bc it also has nutrients in it for the plants. U can refresh ur potting soil the following year by adding worm castings to it, and then u only have to replace it fully every other yr. U can get bags of worm castings at Home Depot or Lowe’s where they have all the different organic fertilizers like Plant Tone, etc.
I use Top Soil in all my planters because it’s less expensive than potting soil. It is heavier than potting soil, which is why I use pea-gravel or gravel for drainage. Worked all these years for me with no problems🤷🏽♀️.
Once again, you did it. Nice, real nice. Also, thanks for sharing the WD-40 tip. Never would have thought of using it on my flower pots. I will definitely start using it. 😊😊
It works with various oils. Best are, in my opinion, oils that harden with oxygen, such as linseed oil varnish. See my comment on "alternative for WD-40"!
The flower arrangements in the pots look great. Ferns are, in general, more for shady places, not sure how they will do together with flowers for full sunlight. It's also not easy to keep flowers beautiful permanently; they will usually not stay with the gaudy colors as in the store. Wish you all good luck!
I was also going to comment this. The two types of plants (ferns and African daisies) do not have compatible light requirements so one or the other will more than likely suffer. I bought some of the African daisies myself, and they r in a pot in full sun. They have all lost their pretty blooms already and had to be deadheaded, but they r forming new buds already. Right now they r a bunch of pretty green leaves, but no color bc flowers do cycle in blooming. I’m in west Tx, zone 8b.
I had commented about animals and insects perching on your water fountain! I do know bees and butterflies could potentially drown, that’s why it’s suggested to have larger rocks. Your yard is so beautiful I always look forward to your videos. I’ve been busy in my own yard thanks to you 😅❤❤
I have a lg. wooden covered. front porch on my 90 yr. old farmhouse. It has porch railings /.spindles & gingerbread- like trim. I decided to paint everything red/white & blue. A labor of love as it takes a long time to do, but, it's so pretty on my white house. So it's a cute front porch. Last yr. I got a older ice cream table W/4 chairs for &100. A score! I put a Pioneer Woman rug down and have a wooden rocking chair & bench & various antiques I use for planters. So it looks nice. Our nurseries won't open for at least 2 wks., and there goes my money. LOL! Great job, Carolina!
I love it..😍 I have those same pots, gonna try that with the wd40. One thing I love about your videos is that you show step by step. I’m in Canada, can’t wait for the summer flower’s to be in the stores..😊
Maybe a better alternative to WD-40 is linseed oil varnish. It's also in many oily treatments for wood and metal surfaces. It hardens with oxygen from the air, has to be refreshed maybe every 1 or 2 years, or longer when with improved UV protection. Treated plastic items don't look like new, but they age much better than with the pale, bleached look, which is one of the reasons why plastic is an inferior material. Just make sure you apply thin layers (with rags or papers, not painting), so it doesn't stay sticky for long, and keep oily rags/papers either spread out in the open, or in airtight containers (e.g. closed glasses), because they can self-ignite, if they oxidize and heat up too much, such as in dustbins.
I just found your channel today! I’m LOVING it! I love your styling ideas, your calm music, your personality etc! I subscribed!!! I’ll be binging your videos tonight!!
Hello Sis! I love your flower choices for your planters. Nice refresh tip on the planters. 👊🏾 the pop of color is beautiful. Love the night view. Tfs! 🌷🌸🙏🏾
A few drops of dishsoap or little pieces of barsoap will keep mosquitos from breeding in water. The front area looks so inviting and pretty. Great job. The lights are the cherry on top😍.
Heyllo and I learn new things everyday.wd40 on a planter Wow...I paid almost $8 for a can of black paint t freshen up a few of my planter and saucers..Your front porch is cute and welcoming
I use top soil in my garden beds but I use potting soil in my planters. Thanks for the WD40 tip. Had never heard of that. Maybe you could try using it on your shutters too. Also didn't know there was a solar water pump for a fountain. I couldn't figure out how the fountain pump was working without being plugged in. Great tips. Thanks for the Pennington plant fertilizer tip. I've always used Miracle Gro but I'm going to try Pennington.
Thank you so much for watching 🥰❤️. I use top soil in my pots but I always add gravel to help with drainage. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing 🤗🤗
I just started watching your videos recently & I absolutely love the way you take your time to explain everything you do. You are so creative & have a beautiful home. I down sized a little over a year ago & have struggled to make my space what I want; you have definitely given me some Amazing ideas! I have a small front porch as well with very similar planters. I cleaned off my porch yesterday as well, getting rid of all the pollen & told my daughter I wasn't going to do flowers this year but you may have changed my mind ❤ & the WD40 idea blew me away! Lol Thanks for all you do & have a Blessed Day!
Hi Carolina..been binge watching your channel. I don't have a handy/green thumb in my body, but this inspired me to do what I can and hire the rest to get these projects done. Question..where did you get the hello sign and basket from? I didn't see in your store unless I missed it. Keep up the good job. I admire people who have these skills. It saves money and you get to do exactly how you want it.😊
Thank you so much! I've had both of these items for a few years. I purchased the "Hello" sign from Hobby Lobby and the basket came from Ross. Thank you so much for sharing.
Looks great. I think that my planters that I have are just like yours. I used them for winter porch pots and will be planting them up for the coming season. Did you have to drill drainage holes in those pots and the base?
I like how you DIY your pots and beautiful flowers as well. Also I like how you decorated the front porch and it turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!🥰❤️❤️
I just Love you. You are always a ray of sunshine. And you have the best ideas. 🔆🌸

Carolina another great video. I love the refresh of your porch. Great job!
Thanks for all the tips. I didn’t know you could use garden soil in planters. Thought it was a bit heavy with less drainage.
Exactly what I was told that I couldn’t use top soil in containers. If it works that’s good and less expensive 😊

Yeah I thought about that when buying ferns, but I couldn’t resist 😂. I’ll probably relocate them to a shadier area when it starts to get warmer.
I love it ❤❤❤
Thank you 🧡🍁

Too funny
Hi Carolina! Love your yard and the wd40 hack. How did you get your doorknob to light up?
Hi there! The door was ajar and kept trying to close, which made the security pad light up.
Looks great. I think that my planters that I have are just like yours. I used them for winter porch pots and will be planting them up for the coming season. Did you have to drill drainage holes in those pots and the base?
Thank you 🥰! Absolutely! I drilled holes in both the pots and one large hole in each base.
