And mind you, it's not like they're calling me coach in a good way, they actually do it in a mocking way. I guess IGL-ing in low elo isn't just appreciated that much, unless of course if your smurfing too hard but then u wont need to IGL if you are. but that's prolly just me, so idk. :)
I feel like amazing game sense and communication in lower elo won't get you anywhere if your mechanics are not there. Most of the time your team won't listen or pay attention to what you are trying to communicate, or they will simply not cooperate, which would explain why a great leader like this guy is gold. Having done the grind recently, all I can say is that mechanic improvements start to have diminishing returns in around high-diamond, so to all your silver-gold players out there, focus on mechanics and developing good habits, that's gonna make you climb faster. However, if this guy starts grinding aim labs and movement courses, his rank is going to skyrocket in a heartbeat.

Still entirely depends on how many hours you play. That's the key factor of grinding rank. Tbh even if you're in immortal-radiant queue players, you'd still be disappointed 80% of the time with seeing your teammates play like it's diamond queue. And it's not a matter of matchmaking queue. People just mostly overestimate immo comp queues to be actual competitive normally it's just another ordinary tuesday in your office. Point of the story: even immortal players can genuinely be ignorant & behave like a gold player.
I think it can be the random duos/trios in SOLO Q you face around this rank that are crushing. The comms arent there (which is weird because you HAVE to be NOT banned on voice and text chat to play comp) Come on RIOT...
i just feel like fixing mechs is so much easier then all the other stuff, like correct comms and map awareness so this is a pretty good problem to have all things considering
I find myself less motivated to practice mechs and feel less rewarded by them. I'm aware that specific combo is not the most common but truly to each their own.
I'm a weirdo then, because I find practicing mechanics to be hella boring and I prefer learning the game. I do try to be as regular as I can with mechs practice though

I've never been more proud of myself Well. And today I did my first two muscle ups. That I'm more proud about. Overall though, I need this video so bad, I need to understand why I'm low elo too 💀
This is me literally 3 months ago. I am that one person who knows a lot about the game and my game sense is beyond my rank. I'm that guy who IGL's and win the rounds. My aim is not that great and my mechanics are Ok, but my game sense and strategy making is just... Big brain. I literally can read the enemy team a round before what they will do. After 3 months, here I am at low immortal at 60hz monitor laptop. What did I do? I just aim trained every day for a month until it becomes a habit (just 1 hour a day for 5 days in a week) and just play the game more. Honestly, it was a quite fast climb. Playing more was the main solution for me since I only play twice or 5 times in a week. Playing 2-4 rank games a day was enough. Ps. I also ate bananas everyday for 1 month Edit: I played more because the school year was almost over so I had more time to play more. Also, if you think you know a lot about the game, it helps you and you can convert that game knowledge to game sense. If you are both confident and a big-brainer, then I suggest making sure your mechanics and aim are good enough so you can get up the higher ranks. Also, have time and commitment too.
I was about to reach silver 1 , till this recent update when sunset was added to rank rotation , and lost 6 matches in a row and i am bronze 2 now, I have started doing the aim routine since 1 week, I blame bad teammates, but ik my aim isnt anything special either so i have stopped expecting good from my team like me,I am so confused about my sensitivity, cuz if i play at low sensitivity i dont have much space at my table to drag my mouse much and if i play with high sensi , i miss micro adjustments and i just dont win long range gunfights at all , i used to win close and mid range gunfights but after loosing those 6 games i have lost all my moral and i am bad at close range fights now too, idk what to do anymore except just troll in ranked games and make other's loose with me too
I'm trying to become better at comms and strategy, sadly in Iron-Bronze noone will listen to you if you aren't top fragging, which I never am. Still, this motivates me to keep at it!

Every once in awhile in my solo queue my team listens and I often get compliments and we destroy teams other times this doesn’t work I decided in low elo to just train my mechs and work more on myself to rank up and use that game sense later on
finally i got to see this vods like this. i am in a similar situation as this guy. peaked plat 3 now im gold 1. it has been like that for 2 acts. to be fair, i stopped playing for a while and not practicing mechs. i got so frustrated why i can't rank up even though i comm like this guy. totally gonna do my mechs now and we'll see if i could even get back to plat after 8 weeks.
Update: I'm diamond 1 now. Trained my aim (mouse control) with the whj x voltaic novice in aimlabs and then played deathmatch 3x. I only play 2-3 games a day to maximize my focus per game. In terms of mechs, i made significant improvements. In terms of comms, i stopped making elaborate pre-rounds and completely stopped mid-rounding. I never stopped the callouts when im alive and i stay quiet when im dead. In hk servers, most ppl never comm, they stay quiet and disagree to most strats, so comms don't make much of an impact to me and i believe i only make my team mates olay worse because of language barriers and other factors i may not be aware of.
The thing i hate in low elo... when you try to play smart in soloq, you get higher than normal mmr. because of that, you receive teammates that the game expects you to carry because of your skill. but no matter how smart you play, your team will fail you.. eventually you get streaks of red and maybe even get stuck in that elo
I wish my plat teammates knew what igl means, so many times when I do something similar (not as good obviesly dude has ascended/immortal level of coms) but alot of the times I get yealed at when I ask my teammate to wait for me with retake so we can do it thougever but they yeal at me that "stop mic spam I can't hear" or something of the sort, sadly don't have a vod like that but I guess I should start recording my games if I will get back to playing ranked ( haven't played for a season or two) cause I hope I will be able one day to get that free vod review lol
this is defo a skill issue but the day after i did that aimlabs routine, my elbow cramped up and i couldn't extend it fully for a good week or so 😝 make sure to exercise friends

im a similar case like this dude i think, altho my comms might not be that great, but i do try to keep it nice, people just tend to get annoyed or wanna do what they like, but i peaked plat 3 and then started dropping hard and finally in 2 acts i dropped to silver 3 ;( ... either it's luck or inconsistency. I also had some setup changes a lot, maybe that messed my muscle memory

Manage to get a 4k and but end up getting killed by the last guy.
Is it because Asia severs? I feel like golds that play like that are common what probably happened is that our iron 3 skill level is so high that it compressed everything up to ascendant or something. Because like even in iron 3 you don't see people really spraying much you just get 1 tapped. So by gold I think people have strats and aim it's just that their map awareness isn't high enough so they walk around with knives out too much or get snuck up on. Because I've watched my friend's streams before in gold and plat and they really do play like that, coordinated and calm. Crosshair placement is on point, just sometimes they pull an iron move and get knifed from behind. Because he's like this in gold but he's not the only one.
Rank in valorant is about MMR algorithm. Especially if you solo queue. For some people if u want to reach high rank literally you should Carry your whole teammate. And, Must outstand the enemy.
Hooj, i started doing the aimlabs routine for before bed. The voltaic one, but some days I can’t actually do it or I get halfway through, will my aim still improve? I try to do it everyday but sometimes I get stopped halfway through or I just like forget about it.
He deserves atleast Diamond lol, but I want to see some aggressive plays too, he's playing by the book right now which is what i really like because most of the time players in low elo dont know how to play by the book, all they know is to shoot enemies when they see them lol
This question doesn't specifically have to be for hooj but does anyone know if its more or less effective to listen to music while doing the aim training? I want to aim train more but i get so bored.
One is recommended for plat and below. The other is recommended for diamond and up. Though if the easier one starts to feel really really easy then switch.

The thing i hate in low elo... when you try to play smart in soloq, you get higher than normal mmr. because of that, you receive teammates that the game expects you to carry because of your skill. but no matter how smart you play, your team will fail you.. eventually you get streaks of red and maybe even get stuck in that elo
I wish my plat teammates knew what igl means, so many times when I do something similar (not as good obviesly dude has ascended/immortal level of coms) but alot of the times I get yealed at when I ask my teammate to wait for me with retake so we can do it thougever but they yeal at me that "stop mic spam I can't hear" or something of the sort, sadly don't have a vod like that but I guess I should start recording my games if I will get back to playing ranked ( haven't played for a season or two) cause I hope I will be able one day to get that free vod review lol

this is defo a skill issue but the day after i did that aimlabs routine, my elbow cramped up and i couldn't extend it fully for a good week or so 😝 make sure to exercise friends

I think it's kind of unfair for those who don't have a choice to not be able to receive vod review even though they play as consistently as they can
The only problem with that is, it's pretty hard to improve without playing as consistently

im a similar case like this dude i think, altho my comms might not be that great, but i do try to keep it nice, people just tend to get annoyed or wanna do what they like, but i peaked plat 3 and then started dropping hard and finally in 2 acts i dropped to silver 3 ;( ... either it's luck or inconsistency. I also had some setup changes a lot, maybe that messed my muscle memory

😂😂😂😂 this is literally me trying to play with my team in gold while billy just starts talking super loud with the tv on behind him and dashes into a 1v4 as my team proceeds to follow him 1 by 1. 30 seconds into the round I am the only one alive. Manage to get a 4k and but end up getting killed by the last guy.
Is it because Asia severs? I feel like golds that play like that are common what probably happened is that our iron 3 skill level is so high that it compressed everything up to ascendant or something.
Because like even in iron 3 you don't see people really spraying much you just get 1 tapped. So by gold I think people have strats and aim it's just that their map awareness isn't high enough so they walk around with knives out too much or get snuck up on.
Because I've watched my friend's streams before in gold and plat and they really do play like that, coordinated and calm. Crosshair placement is on point, just sometimes they pull an iron move and get knifed from behind.
Because he's like this in gold but he's not the only one.
Rank in valorant is about MMR algorithm. Especially if you solo queue.

Hooj, i started doing the aimlabs routine for before bed. The voltaic one, but some days I can’t actually do it or I get halfway through, will my aim still improve? I try to do it everyday but sometimes I get stopped halfway through or I just like forget about it.
Like I’m trying to do it every night but I can’t at times. Will I still improve using it or is it useless if I can’t do it every day

One is recommended for plat and below. The other is recommended for diamond and up.
Though if the easier one starts to feel really really easy then switch.

I would say I try To IGL atleast a quarter as this guy and it sure does help team play. We still lose because only 1 guy ever listens lol

I want to say I'm similar to this guy except I have bad aim but during the time I played only weekends, I focused on how I could communicate better and watched IGLs. It greatly improved my game sense but my aim is nowhere near good IMO.

Gold players are not used to this amont of vocal communication. And because they are just gold, they cant listen and click heads in the same time,.

He definitely just needs better mechanics I agree. He reminds me of FNS, no shade at him, but he’s not the best mechanically (at the pro level, he’d wipe us normies off the face of the earth ofc) but his brain is what shines!
