@grumpyoldmad Thank you, I have both ships and enjoy both but like you said, playstyles are vastly different for both ships. Would love an elevator at the front on MSR like the Corsair has, would be a huge quality of life improvement.
@mjlee8013 Haha, that video was kinda meant to be deliberately biased towards the MSR, I have both and love the Corsair dearly. Both ships have very distinct interior and I love them both.
The roughness of the Corsair and it's appearance IS what makes the ship beautiful. I spent 22 years in the USAF and went on many deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and we almost were always flown in by the C-130 which is very rough around the edges and that's what I consider this ship to be like for me. Everything you need without all the fluff.

I love the internal design details of the Corsair. Feels like a ship straight out of the Matrix. But the huge fragile wings are a huge negative. Get rid of those and I'd love to fly it. The MSR on the other hand is beautiful outside but has a odd, barely functional interior. With more hallway space than usable room. The interior needs a complete overhaul.
Bro you can park a tank on the roof for more firepower and it gives you elevator access, this is amazing. When you are a new captain in a shipyard who needs a large ship with good firepower but don't want to spend a lot of money 🤣
You right about the corsair seats though. But you missed the silliest part about them... they are fighter plane seats, with a cutout for a central joystick mounted on the floor. .... Corsair Joystick is up on the control panel and mounted to the side lmao.
SO I know you are doing a bit, to get votes for the MSR, but to call the Corsairs 100 to 115K shields non existent and then compare it to the MSR with 20k shields MAX .... thats a little strange. The MSR also has less than 1/3 the hull HP. And don't get me started on the weaponry ...1 solitary AD5B, which the Corsair can fit four of them.. does more DPS by itself, than the total combined maximum fire power of every gun slot on the MSR. (MSR has 3 double slots, even with twin Mantis gatlings, each slot does 1600 dmg, compared to the 2110 DPS of an AD5B). A crewed Corsair can push >12K DPS a Crewed MSR is doing less than half that, and running out of ammo in about 15 seconds. The MSR is nicer to look at, and maneuvers better, but I would bet any amount of AUEC I can solo a crewed MSR in my corsair with ease.
@seraph8672 For sure, that is kind of the point. Besides being nicer to look at and having a better turn rate and acceleration, MSR does not beat the Corsair on anything else. I fly Corsair way more then I do MSR but MSR has been a darling ship of Star Citizen for a while and it is just pleasant to be in. And like you said, that video was heavily biased as a joke.

The MSR is a very inefficient design indeed. So much space is wated to have that "underfloor" area that could have been cargo. The whole scanner area is a waste until that part orf the game becomes available. We could have had a very fast and reasonably well armed, when fully crewed, medium cargo haulter. Instead...well, you get the picture. I'm very much a Drake fan and assume that the agolity and shield limitations on the Corsair are balance related, or there should be amrour as well, but another mechanic that isn't with us as yet..

MSR is life. Just the better ship for me. I would like a front entrance or the elevator to go down to the outer floor of the ship. And better weapons, maybe two s4 cannons like the Ares Inferno.

I love the mercury for its aesthetics and flight control but my crew always feels safer in the Corsair
