You are correct, sir. Just 4-5 months after opening, the MBA chaiwala franchisee stall in Nagpur was shut down. What will the man's parents think after he invested Rs. 25L to purchase a franchise? It is incomprehensible.
The biggest problem with this generation youth is that they think doing startups is more easy and profitbale than getting a job which is completely wrong. So please don't quit your job/studies for startups. Try to manage both like 9-5 job karo then open your tapri in the evening. But sacrificing your job/studies for startups is very risky and can ruin your entire life. In my college there are many students with 7-8 backlogs because they stopped studying to persue startups and now they are suffering.
Actually they don't want to study n finding alternatives to earn money n getting famous.

Now I enjoyed the roasting content, but this was some ground level and detailed analysis of the situation that I loved watching. It was very informative, much beyond the scope of the controversy and roasts.
Just forget about everything. This matter can be concluded in few words. 1) No commercial viability of business 2) Third Class Business Ethics 3) Me too category as everyone (means Franchiser and Franchisee) want to become RICH overnight. I have 3 decade of experience and technical know how. That's the point. Rest individuals are free to assume, accept and adopt anything especially in our country e.g. India - Jai Hind Jai Bharat and Good Luck

See franchise modes of Starbucks, tacobell, mc donalds, subway, they take interviews of the person taking the the franchise see the background, if the investment required is too much for him or not... then they accept or reject.

Sir salute to your research and you’ve covered great points but i wanted to correct you that chaayos have all stores owned by themselves they don’t offer a franchise.
this is first time I watched video on your channel...but I saw quality content...and was able to understand the reasoning and facts...so therefore... While, all these people MBA Chaiwala , BTECH Chai wali , etc are to blame, those gullible enough to believe that a chai stall deserves a 50000 franchise fee, deserves what was coming to them.
But, im sure that if push comes to shove , all these people ( MBA CHAIWALA etc ) would gladly swap their tapris for a regular 9 to 5 job.
There's definitely huge mistake committed by the franchise owners...... But its now Prafful's duty to actually involve in their franchise and atleast make the business breakeven considering all the operating and financial costs..... This could probably bring back his goodwill

Doing business from scratch requires experience and that's where franchise business come in handy because you get training from Franchiser company and support (Obviously you are going to pay for royalty, franchise fee etc)

I attended many franchise expo and i grilled every franchise company like this.
Edit 2: 16:45 Price war of Mba chaiwala and CSB.
Also here CSB used a concept in marketing called "Loss leader pricing" in which they priced chai at lower price and attract new customers so that they can sell other food products like burger, maska bun etc (products which have good profit margins) to customers and increase revenue.
Edit 3: 18:28 Product quality, taste, customer experience and ambience should be great (product recall).
Edit 4: 19:31 Product of a franchise should go under a process flow(uniformity) and should not change/vary in different locations.
Edit 5: 24:04 True 💯 it's our fault if we don't read contract.

TBH Cafe model or QSR model is always profitable if location is right and the franchise model is bogus if the founders revenue is itself not enough to generate 4cr + yearly revenue in todays inflation market.
