Hi Rachel! I have heard so much about you! All good, of course. It was so great of you to stay by your mothers side through this long video. Karla, it was so fun listening to some of those hard to say names 😝. Cannot wait to see you next weekend and that new gecko rouge 😘
How exciting to win Glendon place. Happy birthday! I hope stitch con and your trip is a lot of fun.mI always enjoy seeing your daughters and your wips plus finishes. You made a great vanna. I enjoyed it. Yes when older you want to slow down for sure ? I am 61 in August and feeling it in my bones but could be worse.
Sorry I butchered your name! Rachael is going to get your prize in the mail while we are away! Wish we were meeting at stitchcon. You have been with us from the beginning and I love our conversations! (I feel it in my bones and joints too!)
Thankyou! It was amazing and then some… I haven’t even unpacked yet and still working to wrap my head around it all to put a video together for everyone
Hi Karla! So nice to see Rachel again! Congrats to Rachel on all her life changes and promotion. I know that you are at StitchCon now and probably won't read this for a while. I hope you and Sam, your sister and her friend, are having a blast. I was so thrilled that you and Carolyn connected and that you also met Jan. I feel a special connection with both of them. I want to apologize for not commenting on your videos since November. I just got caught up on your floss tubes since November. I have several others that I am behind on still but am slowly whittling that number down so hopefully I can keep up now. I don't remember if I told you the saga of our move, so if I did skip ahead a few lines. You might remember that our landlord put the house we were renting up for sale and it sold so we started apartment/house hunting in either August or September, had to be out 11/30. Very difficult to find a place within our budget here in Texas. They tend to think anything with 2+ bedrooms is worth 2000-3000 or more per month which we could not afford. Finally found an apartment in a totally different area which is 28 miles from my daughter and family, or an hour drive. Was supposed to pick up the keys 11/30. Mom and my son-in-law came over late afternoon on 11/30 to pick up the keys only to be told the apartment would not be ready until 12/17 as the apartment was not done being renovated even though they gave us the keys to a storage unit on 11/25 so we could start moving our stuff here and even told us one of their employees would help us move stuff in on 12/1, so we just planned on staying at my daughter's for 1 night and packed stuff accordingly. If not for my daughter and her wonderful husband, we would have been homeless!!!! My son-in-law had even taken the week off work to help us pack and move based on what we were first told. I was sicker than a dog on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving with a fever of 105.7 when I normally run a low body temp of 96.8 instead of a normal 98.6 and cough so spent 2 days straight in bed when I was supposed to finish packing the last minute stuff. With a temp that high of course it flared my fibro and the psoriatic arthritis. Finally started feeling a bit better but then fell in the tub and broke either 1 or 2 ribs. Knew they couldn't do anything about it so just limited myself on the boxes I carried once they finally called us on 12/11 to say we could move in to the apartment and didn't babysit Walter for a couple of weeks. Then in January, mom and I got a flu bug despite both having our flu shots and spent another 2-1/2 days in bed, sleeping most of the time when I was not in the bathroom. Daughter and son-in-law also came down with the bug as well as poor Walter. Then they started remodeling the apartments, both inside and out, so had about a month of constantly having to move things so they could do the work. What a hellish 3-1/2 months we had, so that is why I got behind on floss tube plus being without internet for a week after we moved. Things have finally calmed down as far a remodeling at least though! I miss Sam on your videos but understand she is doing the adulting stuff. Hope her college studies are going well and that she is enjoying her new social life. I am amazed at how many stitches you get in each month. Your WIPs are so much fun to watch coming to life. I was amazed at how many starts you were able to complete in those 2+ weeks of December. I will check out your diamond painting series as well. Belated congrats on your 1500 subs, belated anniversary, belated happy birthday to your husband, and happy 50th birthday to you. I will be 65 in 4 more days but age doesn't bother me and will continue to proclaim my age proudly. I will be commenting on a much more regular basis now. I keep Walter, who is now 16 months old, 2 overnights a week both to be another grandparent present in his life and to give his mom and dad a break and to do things they enjoy. He is such a joy in my life. Sometimes the only things that keep me going when I am having a bad day with my depression or a bad pain day are Walter and stitching. There have been plenty of days in the last few months when I have really had to Chris It Up, and those are the times I am so grateful that I have stitching and that the floss tube community has made me some wonderful friends. Hope you are enjoying StitchCon. Happy stitching and socializing!
