Good morning Albero ..afternoon now for you ..as normal after hot spells we get the odd problems with the trck , so yes I am showing how easy it is to replace and repair ..cheers Dave
Hi Chris .. yes something that occurs from time to time , think I have shown before , but it’s something we all get and this shows how easy it is to remedy … cheers Dave
I have soldered all my track joints and have never had a issue with track buckling. It sure does help with keeping everything aligned and connectivity.
Hi Mike , yes problem that we all seem to get , I do normally leave a tiny gap ,, but just could not get a smooth run over these points , so as I said I soldered the joint , it sure got running smoother over with no loss of sound on the joint .. next heatwave May bring back the problem?? … cheers Dave
Hi Brian , yes ongoing problems , every year I get new problems with track , think most of us do , but as shown a few hours work and all working good , something i would not have advised soldering joints , but its worked great on the points joint ...Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, back in the loft now the cooler weather here and the nights drawing in. Your doing a good job with the track maintenance. I've just lifted some of .I've as its not feared too well in that heatwave We had. Some of it warped a little. You can't beat those track ballasters. All the best Pete 👍
Hi Peter , yes you cure one area then after summer or a very cold winter , there appears another track problem , but after all these years just about getting the hang of repairing ...one thing i did though which would not normally do was to solder on the points joint , as you see it ran over very smoothly in the end after doing that ...something may do on all in the future ...may just stop the points loco jump we get ...Cheers dave
Hi Digger , yes something i am getting used to after all these yeara , funny each year there is part of the layout that need so track re allignement ..cheers Dave
Nice one Dave, I have also soldered problem joints in and it now has smooth running over them, but I have expansion gaps elsewhere too! Looks good what you’ve done 👍🏻
Thank you Ryan , yes something I have not done before as like to leave ting gap for expansion , but it sure made it smoother going over the joint , funny done points no problems , others you can spend ages trying to get them running smooth … cheers Dave
Dave, I love your videos. A request from an American...When trying to understand what you are saying with your accent (to me anyways) it would be helpful if you could quiet the locomotive sounds. When you are just running trains its fine but when you are trying to convey information it is difficult to understand what you are saying. Keep up your videos as I am learning how to build my RR.
Hi Buzz , yes a few say that , I must try to speak slower and clearer , ands remember not to talk with trains running , thanks for commenting , just hope you could follow all what I showed …. Good luck with your modelling … cheers Dsve
Hi Dave, I have a couple of Peko points on my lay out, and they gave me problems till I went over them with a small file, one still gives me problems occasionality I think it needs the plastic at the frog cutting deaper
Yes think something causes this problem , i ass you might have heard me say did solder over the joint then file down and as shown near the end the 66 ran over nice and smooth , whereas it jumped on there before ..its all some of the problems we get ..cheers dave
Nice work Dave, you make it look so easy ,track requires constant maintenance like in the real world..I have two point failures to deal with next....and spiders on the track... Those Cmx track cleaners are very rare now and worth more the the rrp from years ago.
Hi Jim , yes it’s an on going problem with track and points , like I said there it’s the first time I have soldered between joints , but sure made it smoother , as for the CMX. Think I paid £90 for mine some 10 years ago think they are double that now , if you can find them … they are the best though …. Cheers Dave
@@hovermotion. Inflation Jim , but yes they are the best but that’s getting stupid £200 + mind just looked up the price of those la Farge tanks … now £54 I paid about £15 each
