Sources report that the upcoming Partridge Family themed commander deck will feature a planeswalker commander called “The Ginger Brother” Planeswalker - Bonaduce which has 3 modes (+1) create a Rueben Kincade scheme token, (-1) remove all drummer and tambourine band members from play and (-6) create 5 child actor 0/1 tokens with 4 time counters on each (remove 1 time counter each upkeep) when the final time counter is removed exile child actor to the gutter indefinitely. We can hardly contain our excitement.
It will surely be interesting to watch prices drop. Just tragic for those who had to pre-order it months in advance to get an allocation from distribution. Plus, of course, the timing between two big releases is a catastrophe racing against the wall.
Sad thing is we actually WARNED out FLGS *not to stock up on Assassin's Creed* since none of the regulars would be interested in buying it but he did it anyway and now, people have picked up maybe 2-3 packs and it's going to end up like Aftermath where it took him a YEAR to sell all the boosters, unlike MH3 which he sold out of 3 boxes worth of packs within the first week of release.
Singles, this set will be on amazon for 1/4th of the by the holidays.
MH3 too pricey, Assassin's Creed too pricey for what you get. Saving my money for Bloomburow and Duskmourn.
Assassins creed is basically the same price as MH3 without the premium cards. Probably more expensive

Im buying a ton of singles from MH3. I’m not buying Assasins creed. I don’t like that franchise I stopped playing after the 2nd game. I’m just not a fan of UB cards.
In this new and improved marketing model of 100 new MtG sets annually, I pick one set each year and go all out. This year it is MH3 and last year it was WOE. Every other set I get a little bit if I like it and maybe get singles. That, plus I'm not really even familiar with the AC i/p lol.

Used to be .06$ a card back when boxes were 36 packs, 15 cards at 90-100$ a box. It’s nearly 1$ a card for just the draft box of these new sets (that wizards promised they were going to slow down release rates of) and for that reason I’m out on all sealed product.

Personally, I will get a box and, if I don't pull it naturally, the chase Ezio. I just like old AC, I grew up with it, so something like this I can get behind. I'm interested to see how the Marvel collab will be handled, personally I prefer it to be like Fallout, where you can get all the new cards out of precons.

I stayed away from aftermath because of the pricepoint. I'm not a huge assassins creed fan and after seeing the pricepoint, I'll pick and choose singles, if that. Just found your vids. Good stuff.
While I will not defend WOTC's practices. I will point out that when it comes to collaborations with other IP it is not all up to WOTC. These company's are GREEDY even amongst themselves and have strict rules on how much they can use others property. I am positive when comes to beyond sets having limited cards it is because the parent company of the IP deemed it that way.
The collector box has now gone up to almost $400, and Rudy predicted it's going to be Fallout 2.0.
it is not doomed. Assassin's Creed is not Aftermath. March of the Machine and Aftermath had a horrible storyline and people were boycotting the company because of Cynthia Williams, Pinkertons, etc. Assassin's Creed is dropping when people are excited about MH3. The only reason people won't buy Assassin's Creed is because they spent so much money on MH3. I expect prices to drop on Assassin's Creed, but don't confuse discount sales with failure. People want this product, and the smart money will wait for Xmas sales. I expect Assassin's Creed to be available for around the same prices as Aftermath because everyone is looking at these as similar products (which they are). Expected value of shrinkflation products like this has less to do with excitement about the set and more to do with supply and demand.

I was excited for this release since I'm an AC fan. Then I saw what you're getting for the same price as any other booster set. 24 packs with 7 cards per pack for 130$. I'd rather buy another neon dynasty booster set than this. I'm getting less cards for the same price.

I know they had aspiringspike work on the set so I have hope it’ll have some solid cards for modern. That being said, he and the team in general may not have had access to mh3 so there cards could be outdated a tad because of it, which would likely sink this product. All that being said, wotc could pump this up with fetchland reprints to try and juice the sales and tank fetchland prices before the new modern rcq season! They gotta know this release window is hard and it’s ether ehhh throw it in between the sets people want or lets juice this set to the limits and get all players to want to buy some packs.
Since we’ve seen historical figure already in the spoilers I wouldn’t be surprised of some full art lands of specific places from the games that might get people to chase.
Pre-ordered the two deck package purely because I'm a Assassin's Creed fan, otherwise I'm sticking to buying singles vintage Magic. On the positive side, because it's only 100 cards it wont be too difficult to collect the whole set and I'll wait to buy any booster boxes until it's on sale.

I'm excited about AC release. But I'm an AC video game fan and I'll be buying the cards on Arena. So, I don't mind purchasing all the cosmetics and cards in Arena for AC.
They already admitted ACreed was to far into production to stop right? And that OTJ was not so far along that they could cancle Big Score and stuff it into OTJ?

The spear of leonidas reminds me alot of embercleave I like their card ideas but the prices and reprints are just patronizing 😢
The only universes beyond re-skin cards i would probably get? Would be Slivers as Xenomorphs but lets face it... considering the quality of the cards coming out? Is it really worth it? If the Final Fantasy one turns out to be reskinned cards? Or the abilities & effects make them boring? Yea...its not worth the hype specially if they are AI generated.
May I just say. I've never played magic. If you recognize my name(melffy) you'll know I play yugioh. But Assassins Creed is my favorite game of all time. Specifically the Ezio Trilogy.
And as soon as a I seen they were doing this I found they have a pre-order for a starter kit. It's ASSASSINS CREED you just gained a new magic player. I'm about to start learning this game so I can enjoy my favorite games in card form.

I call shenanigans. I doubt it’s a 100 card set. I’m sure like all new sets there are more cards. Just because there is both a standard card as well as an extended art/borderless card does not mean the set is half size. You still need more to have one of each copy. For example, to have a true full set of Dr. Who it’s 1165 cards. Hell just looking at the spoiled card pics you can see number 275….even 307 if you count the buy-a-box promo. So WotC is expecting people to try to complete sets 7-10 cards at a time…..nah. Think I’ll pass on this one as well. I’ll buy a stack of 75¢ Reserved List cards with the same buy value first.
Gotta be honest, the price pisses me off but I want the full AC set, I’ve played all the games, even the Vita game, and read most of the novels. Not to mention I really want to play WBURG assassins. Gonna have a bit of a reprieve with Bloomburrow, interested in new squirrel tribal cards but that’s about it for that set.

I’m kind of intrigued by AC. I found a place selling the collectors box for 235 but am a bit hesitant on going in on it. Although, you do have the new AC Shadows coming, so maybe, similarly to the release of the fallout show, fandom will start picking up cards like crazy. Idk, I want to go in on the collectors box but also kind of want to see how the market reacts

Even without the massive blockbuster that was MH3, I don't think the very out of breath franchise that is AC has the leg to carry a whole set.
It's an Aftermath pack. No way will i do that again. MH3 is what I've been waiting for. Got 2 fetchlands in the prerelease box.

Huge AC fan. Huge MTG fan. But clearly, MTG doesn't have any interest in doing AC right, and it shows on most of the legendary assassins in this set.
Desmond having higher effective power than Ezio? Layla having the same power as Ezio? Shaun & Rebecca and DA VINCI having better PT than Ezio? Criminal, but too basic.
Altair's ability would have been better on Desmond or Ezio. Altair should have been black white blue to match his story.
Ezio should be red white black; freedom, loyalty, and sacrifice are his whole identity.
Desmond could have just become a copy of any assassin in your graveyard, and it would be more lore friendly.
Arno is an investigator, and should have been blue/black/red, and has no reason to buff other assassin.
Kassandra's second ability should have been replaced with an equipment-trigger doubler instead, and the Spear should not summon her horse.
The fact that Connor is not green is insulting. Why on earth does his ability involve token assassins and equipment?
Hidden blade's deathtouch trigger should be recurrable. What a waste of an iconic equipment.
The apple of eden should have had myriad and/or temporary control effects.
Assassins in general would benefit from abilities that encourage targeting tapped creatures.

I get the feeling assassins creed will suffer. Releasing 2 weeks after MH3 a very expensive set with a lot of interest at the moment. Ppl will probably not want to spend money just a couple weeks later. Especially with bloomburrow after that. I really think the hype will just transfer to that. I know that’s where I’m at. Bloomburrow looks obnoxiously intriguing

I’m new to this and I don’t play much new stuff but if every TH-cam magic distributor says their distribution was cut by 75% but the price in the secondary market goes up +$100 from the original $280. Somethings not adding up.

Assassin's creed is the first product i have passed on in 5 years other than the 4 packs for 1000 which was laughable.

I always just buy singles. Packs are 99% of the time not worth the money.
Not buying simply because Ubisoft’s name is on the product.
They didn't learn from MOM: Aftermath and tried it again. Stupid. Yes you can remove the chaff and keep the top 7 cards. But a regular pack has the same top 7 cards + 7 more chaff. So you're still losing value no matter what. It should be way cheaper than a regular set, not the same price or more. And that's IF you believe in this nonsense about 'value' in the box. The fact is, this set is easy to make because they're just making fewer cards and with existing IP/art. Also they're printing less cardboard. Look at Thunder Junction, it didn't matter that the value isn't there, people loved the set because of all the 'Mythics'. They could have just put all these cards in the bonus slot of Bloomburrow or something and sold more Bloomburrow boxes at prices exceeding value. Instead they just look stupid with another set that nobody will buy.

It's hot garbage. There isn't enough backed interest (by that I mean enough people to support) to hold up the price and run up sales. I don't know of anyone except 1 friend that is into AC. I get it, there are many fans. However, at this given price its just too far of a stretch.
