The Lions grind it out for a win is exactly the quality they now have. And it is a reflection of the changed nature of the entire Lions organization. They may have been fortunate to get the win against the Chiefs but they ultimately sealed the deal. They now have it in them. It will be interesting to see how far they can go this year.

The Lions showed that they were more of a complete team. If two of your stars go out your team can't just fall apart. And the Chiefs kind of fell apart the second half.

I do think he should’ve performed better than he did, even in those conditions, but I think it’s all stuff that’s fixable. He wasn’t rattled, confused, or unable to see the field. Just kept under throwing guys, consistently under throwing them. There might be some confidence issues still too. We’ll know more as the season goes on.

I think your take on purdy is off. You talk about him like he’s a finished product or someone who won’t continually improve. He will never become a brady but I remember Brady’s critics saying he’s being carried by his defense in his early years (which was true). Then he kept improving. I see a lot of similarities with purdy. Clearly he’s improved since being drafted and it feels like you guys are putting a cap on where he can eventually end up. I see a guy who’s improving at a faster pace than any late draft qb I’ve ever seen. Niners obviously see it or else they wouldn’t have dumped a super high pick qb so quickly. Has there ever been a qb picked that high that was dumped so fast? That says a lot about purdy.

Giants never establish the ground game with Barkley and the other backs with duel Tight ends and other heavy type run packages they basically played into the Cowboys hands. Giants should work with the OL not against.
I remember the Bears would bring the "Fridge"(DT) in to play fullback for Walter Payton. Other teams at time would bring extra linemen to play TE. The Giants need to have that kind of mentality and be more aggressive with their blocking scheme...

I disagree when you say that detroit stafford was elite for a three game stretch per year. As a lions fan in his late 20s, I have watched every game in Stafford’s career. Stafford was one of the most sacked qbs every single year and had to deal with playing with fractured fingers, shoulder issues, and back issues. Watch any of the seasons where he didn’t deal with a lingering fracture. He was elite throughout. Both of stafford’s years with the rams, you could visibly see that he wasn’t the same as his elite lions years. If he is truly healthy this season, the rams are nfc contenders for sure.

So, thought experiment: Take a random NFL team. Trade the QB, Best Offensive Player, and Best Defensive Player for Patrick Mahomes.
Out of 10, how many games do they lose to the Lions? If the Lions ‘should be’ beating the Chiefs then that number has to be like 7 or 8.

Steve and Sam: Aidan Hutchinson should have had 12 sacks that game! even if Travis Kelce DID PLAY the LIONS WOULD HAVE WON…IFFFFF THE CHIEFS DIDNT FALSE START DURING THE WHOLE GAME …until the 2 minute warning in the 4th quart is when the refs finally called them on it. there are TH-cam channels that show ALL of those false starts. Just in case you need help seeing that analyst to help your analyst. It’s not your fault. All analysts look the other way on bad penalty or non penalty calls by the refs for big fancy teams when they play the Lions.
HOW DO YOU BRING UP EXCUSES FOR THE CHIEFS AND NOT CALL THEM OUT FOR 2 dozen false starts that were allowed for Mahomes to win by the refs. If the Lions false started that many times against the Chiefs THEN WOULD YOU BRING IT UP? We would have won against Even Kelce ONLY IF the refs are not picking sides. Maybe sharpen your analyst skill set is all I’m saying
