Heres an interesting addition for anyone who may have recently changed broadband providers, and ended up with one smart hub advertising both bands (2.4GHz & 5GHz), and has lost connectivity to their plugs. This happened to me with the new Virgin Hub3.0.
Most of my appliances had autonegotiated 5GHz, so the plugs (on 2.4GHz) no longer responded to Alexa. I ended up removing the plugs from the Smartlife App, but couldn't re-add them. Checking the hub settings, both bands are advertised out over the same SSID, which means that if 5G is supported, it takes presedence. Before following me down this rabbit hole of removing and re-adding, try disabling the 5GHz frequency on your router, then try reconnecting to the plugs, if that doesnt work, then go through this tutorial with the 5GHz disabled, and once the plugs are back online and Alexa (I didn't need to relink Alexa) is happy, then try re-enabling 5GHz ... I'll monitor to see whether they stop working again, and add an additional comment if 5GHz needs to be disabled permanently ... this could be true of other ISP's also, so something to try if you hit this snag ... or ... you could always just stay on 2.4GHz :) ... the choice as they say, is yours ... hope this may help someone who hits a similar issue.

Hi, Could you help as my Techin plugs are visible on my phone but will not connect to the Internet
If you connect them to your phone then they are connected to your internet, if not try resetting them and starting again make sure you have your wifi set to 4.2
My plug works now but I can’t turn it on by talking to Alexa. Any help?
All I can think of have you connected it to Alexa
