Omgosh! THANK YOU for saying that about the house paint and the reason for it! I’ve watched at least 70 videos about PP, trying to figure this whole rocket science project out, and you are the ONLY ONE that explained that it’s just because of COST! I’ve been stumped, wondering what is the magic of the house paint! I have acrylics galore (including Amsterdam, liquitex, golden, as well as all their pouring mediums and additives), so I can proceed! THANK YOU SIR! 🤗❤
Glad I could help 👍🐨💙
@@venomfluidart 🤗
Amazing i love the colours
Love your channel it’s so nice to listen to someone who speaks slowly and explains everything. Glad I found it.
Thank you for helping us newbies! 😊
You are so welcome!🐨💜
Darren, both pieces are gorgeous! Thank you for showing us a cheaper alternative for those of us who are starting out or just needing to practice!
@@DebbiePagtalonia still not cheap. Lol
I have been watching and learning about all types of art for 4yrs and was frustrated with the secrecy in what people use for PM. I care for my elderly sister who has an intellectual disability as well as immobile. It has been hard to take her out because of her disabilities. I paid to do the Shellee art course months and actually haven’t finished the video. I finally now have found a way for my sister to do something at home. She says I can’t paint and I said you don’t need a paint brush. I had a builder give me some of his old house paint woohoo. I am going to transfer the paint into milk bottles and hopefully have some use for the paint. I am a country girl where we had mainly what you can find and manipulate. Ihave an idea of using a liquid floor polish to thin paint. Ha ha I have been accumulating a lot of different mediums paint pigments stencils canvases and 6ml mdf rounds. I have done a few pieces of art happy with some and not so happy with others. I enjoy watching the simplistic tutorial for my sister to follow. She has short attention span so the little squeaky toys adds a laugh for her.
So thank you for sharing.
They are Gorgeous thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it ❤
So happy to have found you. Love your explanation and thoroughness especially for a little novice like me who is by no means an artist. In fact, I can barely draw a straight line even with a rule 😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅 . I plan to get cracking with your easy-to-use method. Thanks again. Looking forward to your next video lesson.
So glad to have stumbled on your page. These were the best tips ever for a beginner like me!!! The colors you use are amazing!!! I can't wait to practice when I get the right paints!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!
What is the name of cell activator. I never heard of it I live in the USA where would I get it????
It doesn't have a name, you make it like I did in the video 👍🐨
The cell activator is Amsterdam black paint mixed with water. That's it. Make it slightly thinner than the colored paints.
I also have used
1part Amsterdam paint
1part water
2parts glue all.
Works well
@@xlauriestarchildstudios7777🤗
That was great! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was such a great and easy way to get people started. Thank you for sharing, they turned out beautiful.
Thank you so much Michelle 🐨💋💜❤️
Thank tou VA. I love your channel.
Anyone else notice the giggle? Proof you really need to enjoy what you’re doing
I always feel like a beginner every time I do one of these. So thank you for a new idea. To me they always seem just like a background I'm in landscape artists so I'm thinking once The fad goes away. Maybe that these could be used for a background for an ethereal picture painting. I don't know if I'll ever get used to them as just that as as a painting thank you❤
Now I’m addicted to neons!!! Wow just wow
I love neons 🐨♥️
Thank you for sharing your paint thinner recipe. I'll have to try that 😊
Fantástico 👍não sabia que com água fazia cell activator!
Wow, who knew we didn't need expensive pouring mediums or silicone!? Looks fabulous like butterfly wings.
Thanks for the easier way to do the fluid painting!
Can't wait to try this!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Hope you like it! 👍 🐨
❤Tyfs Great information and project results😁👏🏾👏🏾💯
Thanks so much for helping me out with my art journey.
❤❤❤THANK YOU so much for the very best tutorial I have seen. You are an EXCELLENT TEACHER. Thank you again - I’m so appreciative ❤❤❤
I love this it’s beautiful I have it on saved so I can come back when I wish to review it and do it😄🙌🏼
Thank you Sheri 💜🐨
I do dot painting and someone said they add Infacol colic drops to their paints to get rid of air bubbles. She was a theatre nurse and said they used it a lot. It might help x
Another great tutorial video, wombat. You are truly appreciated ♥️💥🙏👏👏
Thank you Fiona ❤️🐨
Gorgeous colours, great composition; looks like stain glass! 😃
Thank you! Cheers!🐨💙
Love the pink radial
Thx that was huge fun! Think I’ll give it a whorl

Fabulous video my friend! I just shared it in my Facebook group Fluid Art. Amazing results! ❤
Thank you so much meshka 💜🐨
I learned so much from watching this. Thank you so much. Trying the process today. ❤❤❤
Hey Darren, it's Dawn, thanks for the link! This is so cool. Never thought of using just josonja with the bloom paints, gonna give that a go for sure.
Love your video thank you I'm new at this sooo thanks for the help 😀 🎉🎉❤
Thankyou so much from the UK where Australian Floetrol is almost impossible to get. A great video & so easy to understand with lovely results.
Thank you Teresa 💙🐨
I am from Serbia and i just received my Ozzie Floetrol from a great ebay seler from Australia, the company is called wholesalepaintgroup. It arrived in about 15 days via Australian post, and it cost me 100$ australian, or about 50 Brritish pounds for a pack of 3X500ml, so 1,5 liters total, with shipping.
Thanks for sharing ❤️😍🇩🇰
Fabulous Video ! Thanks for taking the time to share !❤
Just discovered your channel today. I"m a new subscriber now!
This was so good Darren...great information . Thanks heaps 👏 😊
Thank you for watching Kim 🐨💙
Darren can you use liquitex basics as well...even though their colours are much duller lol
This has easily come to be one of my favorite channels. Can i ask how long can mixed paints last in a covered container like that?
Awesome tutorial Wombat! Really beautiful results 😍
Thank you Julie, get well soon ♥️🐨
@@venomfluidart Thank you 🙏💕
Thank you for the lesson
So pretty! I am going to try this...like right now :) Thanks for all your videos!!!!
Thank you for watching Elizabeth ♥️🐨
Great video
Wow that was a great video Darren I will try it out as I have not tried blooms yet ❤️❤️
I love the pebeo iridescent fluorescent paint
🎉❤🎉Super! ❤
Love your tutorials. Thanks!
Darren you really do fabulous tutorials!
Thank you so much ♥️🐨
Great video! Thank you so much!!
Have you thinned the house paint at all, & transferred to a bottle??
Incredible!!
I have some of these I haven't used yet.
Super, looks great. What exactly is your Sonja....varnish? I'm in Germany. What kind of alternative do I need?. Love your large turntable. Where do I get one like that?
Mr Venom! Have you tried using liquitex iridescent medium with your paints - with any success? I’ve got a bottle that I’ve never used and would love to find a use for it! ❤
I like it for Dutch pours using transparent and semi transparent colours with it., blings up the colours 👍🐨
@@venomfluidart thank you so much!
Looks like you had a very small hair dryer, where did you buy it from please? So good to have an Aussie doing this, most of the you tube is USA and unable to understand all the different mediums they use. Thanks!
That's called the world's smallest blower, it runs off usb power and is available in Oz at officeworks for $20.
You can also get them on ebay or Amazon 👍🐨
Ok one last question! Can liquitex pouring medium (or another option) be substituted for the josonja? It’s like the only thing I don’t have (other than Aussie Flo, and White House paint). Please say yes - that I’ll get good cells (theoretically) without the josonja. Thank you Mr Venom! 🤗
The josonja gloss varnish works best as it dries at the same rate as the paints used, other products tend to dry faster causing cracking
@@venomfluidart thank you sir! I was actually just now watching you and Bubbles! You guys are very generous, THANK YOU! ❤️❤️
Excelente video. Gracias por compartir. Me gustaría saber si a la lámpara negra le colocaste Jo Sonya. Gracias ❤
Thank you Venom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for watching Stephanie ♥️🐨
Would you use this mixture with pouring on wood or would it warp the wood with all of the water in it?
Any paint pouring on real wood , with or without water will warp it. You need to seal it first with a wood sealer .
I can’t the varnish your using in my town. Will Golden gloss waterborne varnish work?
I would like to do this on a large round lazy Susan. Should I do more than one layer of each color in order to cover the entire round. I’m guessing it’s at least 18” in circumference. Love the color palette!
Hi Cathy, yes you can do multi layers or just more of each colour ❤️🐨
Wonderful art, but what's Jaisonia? I am in Italy so... Ty
Thank you, the josonja gloss varnish is a clear waterbased acrylic varnish.
@venomfluidart HI there! Would polyacrylic be the same? I'm in US.
Is there a substitute for jo Sonya ?
so nice❤️
Thank you ♥️
Belo vídeo explicativo; então o Preto só tem água?
Thank you!
You're welcome!♥️🐨
How do these dry, does the CA sink? And do the cells disappear?
Absolutely beautiful Thank you for sharing such a brilliant tip. Here in the UK importing Australian Floetrol is way too expensive.
Can I ask if any gloss varnish would work? Your gloss varnish isn’t available here 🙁
It’s absolutely beautiful.do you have a link to purchase a mini blower please ? Is the liquid you added the same as flotrol ? thank you
Thank you, they are available on Amazon, ebay and a few other places, I only share links to companies I've used.
No, that liquid is totally different to floetrol. 👍🐨💜
So you're using Jo Sonja Flow Medium mixed with water to make the colors like syrup, but the black (cell activator) is made thinner?
No, it's paint and water with a little josonja gloss varnish in it for the colours, same as the ca, just its thinner
I find all the house paints so expensive at bunnings now, woner whether discount paint places are cheaper
The prices have definitely jumped in the last 12 months, even a 1 litre bottle of floetrol has gone from $16 to $29.
But it still works out a lot cheaper in the long run.
So you just used water and gloss varnish with your paints and created these gorgeous pieces?
Yep, it's that simple 👍🐨
@@venomfluidart where have you been all my painting life?! super glad I stumbled onto your channel - doesn’t hurt to hear you teach in that Australian accent 🥰
does it have to be jo sonja varnish; can I use any other I'm in the uk thanks
Thx that was huge fun! Think I’ll give it a whorl! Does the Amsterdam work because it’s denser than the pigments and the pillow paint?
I'm in the US what can you use instead of that Jay Sonya?
Loved this demonstration and that piece is gorgeous! So, all I need is JoSonja and distilled water in my tube paints AND my CA which is thinner than my paints. I think that’s the take away, right? I just watched a video of yours where you created a beautiful bloom with no pillow paint. Sounds like I can eliminate all the house paint!! 👍🏼
Yep, that's it. It works out way cheaper using house paint for a pillow and pouring medium in the long run.
Hi Bubbles and Wombat, Watching the premiere but for some reason TH-cam is being a butt and not giving me a chat box to type in live chat with Y'all 😢
I had that same problem the other day Julie ❤
I try the paint and water with the house paint for a pillow and the large white round dots came through. I also used amsterdam paint with American floetrol and min wax wood conditioner for my CA. I don't like the big round dots they are not cells. What di I do wrong?😮
Because you mixed water with your house paint pillow, you don't add anything to the pillow paint. It won't work if you don't follow the instructions in the video. 👍🐨
I am sorry I miss lead you. I didn't add water to the house paint. I just poured it straight from the can. I mixed my acrylic paints with only water. Thank you for replying.
Great video! I'm in USA where Aussie floetrol is cost prohibitive so it's great to find a recipe that doesn't use it. I'm curious what makes using the "right stuff" (Aussie floetrol, etc) more gallery quality than paint and water? Is it the quality of pebeo paint?
Beautiful thank you for share Amsterdam Black but what is the name of the black please thank you
Thank you! So good to know as a beginner. I have one question though, in the white housepaint, did you put water in that??
Yr welcome dani, no the white house paint is straight out of the tin with nothing added 🐨💖
Thanks, Wombat. I have some Liquitex Fluro colors. Would they work for this recipe ? I already use Amsterdam Lamp Black for my CA. I do like the Pebeo Paints (goody, more stuff to buy 😉),
Yep they worked Suzanne ❤️🐨
The house paint keeps coming through in the center of the painting, is it too thin/thick? I’m using Valspar 2000 white base satin paint. It’s as if the colored paint is sliding off.
In this great video, was the water, JoSonia mixture used in the swipe or just water?
I wondered too. It looked like he mixed them all with the same bottle
Ficou Fantástico. Uma pergunta só a cor preta continha cell activator as outras cores so foram diluidas com água? Obrigado
Only the black 👍🐨
Thanks so much for this amazing video. Quick question is your house paint mixed with anything? Thanks so much these turned out so cool
Thank you , no it's just straight out of the can 💜👍🐨
@@venomfluidart thanks so much. You helped me so much today love doing the swipe.
Ty
It looks messy, I wanted to try, since I basically do still Art, watercolor and Acrylic. Never did this! I have limited space. Is your tub a cement tub for easy cleaning? I will have to find something like that , and use it in my garage!
Ty again for your videos too.
It's definitely messy, I do this in a plastic tub. Let the paint inside dry and it peels off.
The halo is because you added to much water I always thought. 😅
hi how it is the black paint with jo san makes it an cell activator than the paints
How did your black become a cell activator? Sorry, I'm confused.
It's thinner than the other colours
Where do you buy the big round tub so you don’t get paint everywhere? Do they have them in Bunnings?
Yep it's in bunnings, in the garden section where the kids play houses and slides are 👌🐨
hi darren, i hope you are well, i am in the uk and to buy jo sonja gloss varnish it costs 79.57 USD for 16 oz bottle which is way too expensive. Can you recommend any other gloss varnish that works pretty much the same as jo sonja, and hopefully will be able to buy in the UK . Many thanks Carol
I don’ understand when you use Jo-Sonia alone and when you use water with Jo-Sonia.
A squirt of Jo goes in with the paint, then thin down with the water/ josonja mix.
Can you continue to use the drops of water in order to thin it out enough to do a Dutch pour ?
Yo can, but I would go more than 15-20% water to paint.
Doesn't the paint thicken up if you leave it over night?
