3 surprise winners, 3 different yellow jerseys, a Norwegian in polka dots and green, and a revived vingegaard! What a first three days!
Most exciting TDF start in many a year!!
Absolutely! I’m glad the first couple days arent a snooze fest anymore
Fucking Wild!
@@ethanbates7734 I mean today was kinda the definition of a snooze fest tbh, but the end result was cool at least
If you were to tell me that DSM, Arkea, and Intermarche win the first three stages of the Tour I'd call u crazy
BINI!!!!! Fuck yes, my man!!! Beautifully done. Nice riding from Mads too, a lesser man woulda stuffed him in the barriers.
🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🐏👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏🤘
Good observation. That was great sportmanship.
Anyone doubt he would have been pushed to the barriers if it were Philipsen rather than Pedersen?
Philipsen or Groenewegen
The dude would be dead 😂
@@barbaroacosta5335 I don't like it when any contender crashes , but the bitter taste of MVDP and Philipsen not giving a fuck if they killed Girmay last year still rankles. But forget that. Girmay threaded the needle beautifully and powerfully and simply took a great win. More power and success to Biniam.
Phillipsen would have done just that and then laughed it off...the wanker...
@lucdk5 like last year year, every one was mad b/c if terrible sprint
Lovely that Bini got that W. Felt like he had the speed during the previous years but never could get the positioning quite right. Today he put it all together.
That's because there was no Disaster pushing him to the barriers
Shoutout Pedersen for not closing Bini out on the barriers, some other sprinters 🧐 would've done that for sure
Champions don't do that. Mads doesn't and neither does Wout.
Hmm you couldnt possible mean someone who put 3 people into the barriers last year
What a Disaster
@@squiglemcsquigle8414or someone who nearly killed another rider?
We had non of that because Jasper -Disaster crashed. I don't like that guy. He is dangerous.
Let’s not forget, Biniam did it WITHOUT leadmen. He had to forage an opening on his own.
Which is funny as heck because he is the fourth-placed Inter rider with about a KM to go. Three Inter riders were in a train coming around the bend but without Biniam. Somehow he still won, what a fucking sprint by Bini.
@@patrickwong4824because they were planning to sprint with Gerben Thijssen today
@@lipsterman1segan is Bini’s role model when he was young but a lot ppl say that Bini has similarity to segan .. 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷💃💃💃
Yeah, I thought the barrier was gonna gobble him up.😳
@@lipsterman1we certainly does miss the big guy
No Jasper the Disaster to push Girmay into the barriers...because he crashed right before the leadouts. Kind of ironic LoL
Karma!
Yasper blocksen 😂😂😂
@@zxtsfman! I dont know how i ended up in this comment but i am glad i did...😂😂😂 and you wrote this before his relegation.
Groenewegen getting a taste of his own medicine and complaining is gold
Actually, De Lie was ahead of him all the time and did nothing wrong. Groenewegen touched De Lie, not the other way around. Plus Groenewegen is still reckless, taking his hand off the bars during a high speed sprint.
@@chrisko6439 I know, I just meant the "getting barged close to the barriers, and shitting his pants" medicine
Still hanging on to 2020????💀
@@unangemessen6215 What he did should ban him for life. He almost killed an other rider. Physical scarred him for life. He is a dick
@@unangemessen6215 Didnt he have a few less severe incidents in the last years as well?
MY GF IS ON A STREAK!!! She was wondering why it was going through italy 😂. But hey she was very interested in the sprints
as a gf watching TDF, very glad to hear that
Bro stop dreaming. You dont have GF!
She must really like you if she is pretending to like cycling. Kind of like how my wife told me that she thought "Rush" was good music. Until we got married.
I have and she crazy fan of cycling coz of me
groenewegen tastes his own medicine and complaining, how ironic
Exactly, for not even half a bike of deviation while he literally has pushed and continues to push people literally into the barriers. Disgusting human being.
It is my sincere hope that he never wins anything for the rest of his life.
@@stephenbarrett8861 He should be allowed to ride TTs only, ITTs.
Groenewegen complaining DURING the sprint, he probably was angry that De Lie did NOT push him into the barriers. De Lie was ahead of him all the time, did NOTHING wrong, Groenewegen is touching De Lie and then complains. His behavior is as pretty as his nose cap.
Groenewegen should just shut his stupid mouth. He almost killed Jacobsen, so he lost the right to say anything ever. Him and Jasper Disaster should get banned.
@@BMK84 Honestly, it made my day when Disaster lost his MvdP launchpad and was nowhere to be seen in this sprint.
100+ years of the Tour de France and the first black rider to win a stage - huge moment for cycling
Why does that matter? He is just a rider like the rest..
@@BMK84 yeah Idk why people keep focusing on that... even Binis prolly like yeah ok. Anywho great win nonetheless. Happy for Bini. Only missing a Vuelta stage now to complete the triple.
Just treat rider as rider regardless their color for Christ sake
@@BMK84
No. It does matter; but not enough to make a huge deal over it. Note it and move on is my attitude.
Forget about color of his skin. What matters is someone from Eritrea/Africa made it and what that means for the continent and generations to come. It matters!
Congrats to Girmay, and honorable mention to De Lie that, without remaining blocked for most of the sprint, would have made Girmay's win definitely more difficult...
de lie is going to get one at some point
Girmay's tactical brilliance again. A puncheur who can read a sprint as well as anyone. Beautiful win. (Satisfying after he was robbed of last year's stage 7)
Word❣😂😂😂
Right!
Congratulations bini proud of you 🇪🇷 ❤
Bini has had such bad luck in the last couple of years = Champagne Cork, crashes, "blocked", etc + at times his own bad positioning. He's not a pure sprinter like many of the sprinting stars but when healthy & the opportunity arises he has a powerful kick. Would love to see him in a breakaway that survives. Hopefully this starts a run of good luck for him. 🙏🤞
Pride of Eritrea
Pride of Africa
Pride of the hopeful
Simply magnificent , mighty, Juggernaut extraordinary

Froome was born in Nairobi to British parents who later divorced when his father filed for bankruptcy. He and his mother, who encouraged his riding, moved to South Africa, where he was educated and began training at the age of 12 with Kenyan cyclist David Kinjah. Froome, who learned to speak Swahili and a little Kikuyu (a regional language), was included by Kinjah in excursions with much-older native Kenyan riders on basic bikes through the dusty rural highlands near Nairobi. After attending a South African boarding school, he studied economics for two years at the University of Johannesburg, but, unlike his two brothers (both accountants), he decided to pursue a cycling career.
We've already had a multiple time TDF winner from Africa.
But. he is not black bahaha😂
@@tamrasg6960 oh so you're relegating someone down to the colour of their skin? lol so much for treating people as people and not judging on skin colour. Weve really progressed as a society.
.....bahahaha So i'll just refer to him as the black rider from now on then. cool.
Bini bini Yeah it’s our time for whole of africa 💪🏿🎉🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
@lanternrouge Sincerely thanks for doing these videos, they are probably in the top 10 of the coolest things going on Earth right now! Really enjoy them, thanks!
As a Brit I'd love to see Cav get the extra win, but as a cycling fan this is massive and so great to see!
Only if they give Chav the win out of pity.
Why?
SIR Cavendish is A LEGEND HE NEEDS ONE WIN , 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
For a guy not being known for great positioning he positioned himself incredibly well!!😀
notice he wins when he ditches that bogus leadout and puts his head down
Super win 🥇 Bini, Eritrea, Africa & intermarché wanty yeeeeeeeessssss Eritrea 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
BINI BICI VICI!! 🤙🏾🇪🇷💛🇫🇷
I'm glad Bini won it today, Congratulations lad‼️
I'm guessing they didn't give him a bottle of champagne on the podium :-D
Only with goggles :D
😂😂 no they shouldn’t, I came from the same neighbourhood with Bini,we don’t have the opportunity to open a bottle of champagne, I believe most third world countries as well.don’t let him open that bottle 😂
Noticed after that & another close call MVDP?, Open bottles are handed to the winners🤔
@@Teklweyn He opened one in the hotel later and Mike Teunissen had to duck, on the other side of the room 😅
@@Teklweynhalewlew If you never opened champagne bottle just say that, most third world is a bit unnecessary lol
Wanted mads to Win it he was close, but started too early. So happy to see Biniam win and great for the sport
So much skill and power to thread that needle to the line! 😮
History made and a deserved victory. Bravo, "Bini"! 👏👏
M 🦘🏏😎
Taking the barrier side? That's gutsy...
indeed it is but it paid off big time
Had it been Jasper to the left of him, this would have not worked out...
Especially when Groenewegen is there
@@jmsytbe That's what I was thinking.
Bini, the 🇪🇷 Eritrean rider is an amazing sprinter.
BINNIIIIIIEEEE wooooo. He's had SO MANY times coming close. And so many times getting bumped around, boxed in, etc. Good to see him win
That was a pure power sprint from behind...he is the best..just learning to manage the bully this time😂.
Amazing for Bini, i hope this is the start and we see more africans rolling through!
Theres 3 africans at the race... the WT has had africans for 3 decades now
@@squiglemcsquigle8414 White Africans don't count apparently.
Yeah if they're good enough fine
There's even another one on his team. TH-cam hates this fact so much they deleted my post.
@pythor2117 betcha if you remove the financial and bureaucratic bs africans clean the WT
Biniam, absolute class. I'm so excited to watch the evolution of Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Kenya in world level cycling throughout my life 😊. So many kind and hard working people from that part of the world!
What a tour thus far
A lot of peloton politics in this stage lol
First Eritrean and First African Tour De-France stage winner congrats BINI congrats 🎊🎈🎉 All Africans and especially we ERITREANS are really proud of you 👍 mashallah 🤩
de lie went left when he should have gone right. spit second decision cost him the victory imo
Yes, de lie ,when he was free, then no one could stopped him..pedersen doing same things again and again..naive
🎉🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🎉
Oh Bini, congrats. But stay away from the champagne .
I was hoping for some of the chitchat highlights. G complaining about UAE having a nicer chateau, De Lie and Coquard talking euro prédictions…
white shoes is the new black shoes
😂 I saw one lotto rider with black shoes….
Hats off to Mads for sprinting like a professional, just a slight move but straight as an arrow
Girmay surfed perfectly and when the door opened he lit the fuse. This was Peter Sagan from 2016 level of sprint winning.
U deserve more bini our hero..congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉🇪🇷🦁🇪🇷🦁🇪🇷🦁....u make africa proud of U in zis big race... SAINT MARY IS WITH YOU
Going my bro Bini Great boy, God is always with you go always winner and winners 😍😍😍😍👍👍👍👍👍 bini my Jung bro
Great job Bini, it is impressive! Well done ❤
Binibinibinibinibini!
Kulset not getting combativité is a shame. It was such a great pee break.
Eritrean red sea winner 👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congrats Bini proud of you.thank you ❤🇪🇷❤️🇪🇷
yo, where's the guy watching with his gf?
Gutted for Cav. When I saw MVDP had a mechanical, I thought Cav’s chances at the win skyrocketed. But alas…
We are proud of you binii🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
Wow, wow, Eritrean never ever ever down thix biniam 🐪🐪🐪🐪💯💯💯🌹🌹🌹🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💪🇪🇷💯
Result, beyond cycling tradition : big hugs to historic B.G....Congratulations. ❤!
Now we see what Bini can do in the TdF when MvDP is not there to body-check him during the sprint.....now if we can just keep Bini away from the champagne corks.
Bini showing a bit more cynicism in the fight for position is a welcome change. Great win.
Lots of deviations today. What the hell was De Lie doing? I also think Mads swerved too much out there.
MVDP punctures and JP was no where to be seen. Was he and Cav behind the crash? The lead group looked thin AF 1k to go….
Thank u Biriam Girmay
TF? Froome who was born in Kenya! We've had an African stage winner...heck..we've had a multi TDF winner already from Africa. Oh but wait...he's white...so it doesn't count lol SMH. Diversity! And yeah yeah...he doesn't live there anymore. Meh!

Rickaert broke his line to shoulder check Van den Berg and then drifted super far right into Jacobsen
My Bini Bini black diamond proud of you (Eritrea🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷)
Era ora .. è più di due anni che porta a spasso la bici. Bravo
What a class act Mads is to, any other "top" sprinter would have put him into the barriers, Mads moved over and made room for him.
Van der Poel going 90k an hour is crazy or how is the time gap getting smaller when they go 60 and more?
WTF are we doing in Italy?? They have their own tour.
THANKS GOD 👌
Congratulations Bini proud of you 👏
As always top cometary & Insite 👍
Where he come from 😮
using pretty bulky but light protective gear year round on flat and hilly stages to reduce or even avoid negative impact of crashes as a gc rider given the stakes at play?
80 years ago The Italians brought the beautiful sport to ERITREA now we Bring it back to the world ❤
All these nonsense posts about not driving into barriers. Saying Philipsen would have done it. If he would had closed the door it would just have been direct qualification out of the race( not just the stage). There is no comparison
De Lie deviated TWICE, first to the left and then to the right, but let me guess since no one got injured, he wont get reprimanded
i just remember a meme where a guy said, thanks to my wife, my girlfriend...... hahahahha. another guy who plays football.
Geez Wout has been dished some sh*t luck this season.
As an Eritrean, I am very happy to see him win, and EVEN he was one of the winners of the Tour de France, for Eritrea. 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷
Maybe they should take GC placement with 5k to go on pure sprint stages. There would be zero need for any to get involved in the sprint.
You shouldn't be surprised. It's called 'jollop', otherwise known as dope.
A sprint day where Jasper Desaster is not winning is a great day.
A day where he crash before the sprint, and can't jeopardize other riders life is a even better day.
Binam grmay the great winer keep it up congraletion eritrea and team group ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
from now i can say bini is top 5 best sprinter itw i know him from the beginning of his career now his time the world can see
Well done Bini :) That is a big moment for cycling
Girmay had room because Gairva was coming on the otherside which drew Pederson to his left and made more room for Girmay to come thru.
Congratulation Bini that's the greatest in his life.
BIIIIINI!!!! Freelancing to the win like a BOSS!!!!
Woww congratulations Bini
What a great start and tomorrow it's the Galabier!!!
Historic couple of days huh
Awesome! I bet the parties in Eritrea are lit!
Thanks for explaining all the peloton drama haha.
"Uneven circle sort of thing". Brilliant geometry stuff Mr Rouge...

Congratulations bini 🇪🇷🎉💪
Bini LEGEND ❤❤❤
Before the crash: "Chilling at the back."
After the crash: "Chilling on my back." 😂
Congratulation Bin ❤🇪🇷🎉
Why can‘t belive it he show 5 time befor this
does the same yellow jersey get passed around to leader??
Congratulations to you BINI Grande, you are an eye opener to many young African cyclists that it is doable indeed!!!
Congratulations Bini. You made Eritrea shine on the most famous world stage. Keep up the good work.
Literally very little coverage about his win because all eyes were on TP and JV and the stupid crash behind him. This was an amazing win for BG and deserves so much more attention than has been given
Great commentary and insight as always mate. I'd personally appreciate it if you didn't spoil the result in the title/thumbnail - it'd make it even better.
