He's not a pure sprinter like many of the sprinting stars but when healthy & the opportunity arises he has a powerful kick. Would love to see him in a breakaway that survives. Hopefully this starts a run of good luck for him. 🙏🤞

Froome was born in Nairobi to British parents who later divorced when his father filed for bankruptcy. He and his mother, who encouraged his riding, moved to South Africa, where he was educated and began training at the age of 12 with Kenyan cyclist David Kinjah. Froome, who learned to speak Swahili and a little Kikuyu (a regional language), was included by Kinjah in excursions with much-older native Kenyan riders on basic bikes through the dusty rural highlands near Nairobi. After attending a South African boarding school, he studied economics for two years at the University of Johannesburg, but, unlike his two brothers (both accountants), he decided to pursue a cycling career.

Now we see what Bini can do in the TdF when MvDP is not there to body-check him during the sprint.....now if we can just keep Bini away from the champagne corks.

Bini showing a bit more cynicism in the fight for position is a welcome change. Great win.
Lots of deviations today. What the hell was De Lie doing? I also think Mads swerved too much out there.

TF? Froome who was born in Kenya! We've had an African stage winner...heck..we've had a multi TDF winner already from Africa. Oh but wait...he's white...so it doesn't count lol SMH. Diversity! And yeah yeah...he doesn't live there anymore. Meh!
"Froome was born in Nairobi to British parents who later divorced when his father filed for bankruptcy. After attending a South African boarding school, he studied economics for two years at the University of Johannesburg, but, unlike his two brothers (both accountants), he decided to pursue a cycling career."

All these nonsense posts about not driving into barriers. Saying Philipsen would have done it. If he would had closed the door it would just have been direct qualification out of the race( not just the stage). There is no comparison

Maybe they should take GC placement with 5k to go on pure sprint stages. There would be zero need for any to get involved in the sprint.
