For us rajasthanis that song is just one of the top tier folk song that makes proud to be rajasthani . I don't know many of our folk music but every person from all generation enjoys choudhary but now...

According to the YT description, the production was done by Sunny MR & Zafar Ansari who are usually amazing but I think their scope was limited here. Jab voice casting itni kharab hai to music producers kya hi kar sakte hain.
Fun fact - it's an original composition by Amit Trivedi, which was picked by the various groups in Rajasthan and it eventually became a folk song (Source: Amit Trivedi himself told us during his Jaipur concert). It's wonderful how a song in the coke studio was embraced by various folk music groups in Rajasthan and in the rest of the country as well. They would add their own touch to it, improvise and make it their own. Although there's one part which I always see the groups replicate - the khartaal part, alomg with which Darshan Doshi and Sanket Athale are playing the accents.
This song holds lot of nostalgia coz it's being a part of popular tv show "Balika Vadhu " but they literally ruined it by remaking ...the og coke studio is far way ahead of them.Literally remakes of such masterpieces needs to be stopped
Listen. I'm Sri Lankan and I genuinely adore Yohani. I'm really proud of her. But I also LOVE the Chaudhary track (The Coke Studio one with Amit Trivedi and Mame Khan). When I heard she was going to sing in a remake my heart sank and when I heard it, I died a little inside. She's good at modern fusions and making things her own---some things should be left alone because it cannot be 'yours' you know? Classical music is not her thing and she should just stick to what she knows or actually get trained. As a Sri Lankan, I hated that she took this on without the skill needed for classical music.
