    Wow... that's lightweight camping at its best! It was great to watch this video again... NSW has some stunning wilderness areas.

      Definitely a lot of fun. I will definitely have a canoe in my future though!

    Unique usefulness of this video...seeing you sit still and having a snack. Sometimes, I just want to know that I can hang out on the water and rest.

      It is a very very comfortable kayak to relax in, you can lean back in the seat and relax

      Haha do it!
      It’s certainly been a bunch of fun, no regrets moving to them.

    I live in Scotland. I have 4 fishing kayaks. One is plastic & slow so we don't use it much. There are a lot of rocky beaches here so I want to replace it with a V7. I fish & watch wildlife also plan on camping at some point. I'm thinking of adding a hatch in the foredeck for stowing gear, but not sure how it would be when fishing, when it would be stationary, or for storing my catch. Thanks for inspiration.

    Some very arty wildlife shots! Just bought a Breeze V5 myself and looking to paddle some of these areas too.

      Nice choice!
      You’ll no doubt have a great time, beautiful area and that ski will fly through there
      Enjoy!

    What a fantastic vid of your trip , light camping as well as showcasing the Epic Surfski. Just out of interest, sort of average speed are you getting without exerting yourself, let's say on flat water. Cheers.

      It say around 7ish kmph at a very steady paddle without to much force

    Nice video mate, are you still using the ski for camping trips, or have you found it too limiting?

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Aaron,
      Will definitely been using it for more trips
      The rear storage is twice the size of my regular hiking pack. Together with its speed and how fun it is to paddle, the ski is very capable of meeting my requirements.
      Thinking of doing something similar?

      @@JakeMarcin good to hear it’s a great kayak for overnighting. Yep I’m looking at either the epic v5 or v7 for exercise and kayak camp trips on the Hawkesbury, Myall Lakes, Jervis Bay etc. I need to pull my finger out and organise a test paddle!

      A dialled in, ‘lightweight’ setup definitely helps but it’s a very capable boat.
      The rear compartment is reasonably water tight but not perfect, little still gets in, so be sure to dry bag everything.
      If they are still the same money, I think the V7 is the go, little more tippy but a bit faster.
      Anyway, great boats for our conditions and climate

      @@JakeMarcin Do you mean the V5or V7 is fastre? Nice video, love to do the same in the future

      Ops, yes I meant the V7.
      Have done an edit to fix that now, thanks for the pickup.
      Thanks for watching and certainly well worth doing it, great boat and we have so many good kayak camping spots (In saying that I have to do it more myself!)

    Great video. Dealing with mangrove mud first thing in the morning didn't look like fun :)
    How fast do you go on your surf ski? How far could you travel in a day?

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha it was early morning mud therapy.
      It can cruise at 8-9kmph when empty so I think about 6-7 when I have the kit in.
      It was roughly a 38km round trip so not a great distance but plenty of stops discovering a few potential camping locations which weren’t on the map and marking them down for possible returns.
      Definitely possible and I certainly will do longer trips in it, was a lot more comfortable then I was expecting.
      Going to buy a kayak/ski and join? :)

      @@JakeMarcin I've ordered a flat water pack raft (which certainly won't be as fast as a Kayak or Surf ski), so am looking forward to see what I can explore from the water.
      So will hopefully have some rafting / hiking videos throughout the year :)

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome!
      Any plans so far or areas on your list to explore?
      It becomes a pretty addictive adventure especially given where we are lucky enough to live, lots of places within a reasonable drive from Sydney you’re explore.
      Be sure to do some reviews and experience videos, curious how it all goes.

    Would you recommend over a sea kayak ?

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  ปีที่แล้ว

      For me personally yes, given the climate I paddle in (Sydney, Australia).
      I previously had a sea kayak and I enjoy this one much more
