God is unchanging. Malichi 3:6. God didn’t break His rules when He gave the miracle of the oil not running out. He responded to the Maccabees faithfulness and trust in Him. It’s a beautiful story. God will never break covenant with His chosen people Israel and those who are grafted in through Messiah Yeshua. He has not left us in darkness but has given us a marvelous light in His Son. I live in turkey and wasnt very familiar with judaism until recently, even though ive always felt like i was somehow drawn to it. This year, I celebrated Hanukkah with my grandmother, she is muslim, very open-minded though, on the other side I have been an agnostic for 6 years. But when i lit those candles tonight while listening to prayers and hugged my grandma; I've felt a peace i havent in a while. My celebration was sloppy, which wasn't my intention but i was late, and didnt want this holiday to go away without me participating in it. I will never forget that feeling. I am hoping to bring that peace, that glimpse of hope into my everyday life. This video literally made me tear up. I'm looking forward to learn more about judaism and its practices. I thank God for my Orthodox Study Bible. Without this Bible I never would have the opportunity to read about the Maccabees and meditate on the lessons of this war. Mattathis Maccabee and his sons could have chosen to conform to the popular Hellenic ideals, but they chose to stand with God's Law. The miracle of the oil shows that God does think of His faithful. God's chosen will always appear to be alone, but He is always with us if we truly attempt to follow His Law. May God be with you all.

I have seen some pretty amazing miracles. He is not silent but you have to believe that He is and expect Him to answer. If you do that with all your heart, He will reach back and He might even do real miracles for you.
Always wondered why some Jewish people have reacted the way they do when I tell them that I am Greek. You see I sometimes get mistaken for being Jewish (Israeli most of the time!!, is there a difference?) but when I correct them they visibly grimace and one actually turned her back on me the instant I told her I was Greek (up until then things were going swimmingly). Doesn't help that the diminutive of my name, Aristide, is shortened to "Ari" LoL. Works the other way too. Some Arabs/Egyptian/Nazi era elderly Germans are initially really cold towards me, but again, they visibly lighten up when it comes out in conversation that I am Greek (sometimes they directly ask) . One Egyptian girl would still give me daggers even after she knew I wasn't Jewish, and would then apologise saying that she couldn't help it and that I kept reminding her of an Israeli in army gear. Gives me an appreciation of what Jewish people must still go through even in these "progressive" days as all these events happened withing the last 10 or so years (except the Nazi era German lady that my very Aryan looking GF was boarding with while at uni, that was 25 years ago. The look on her face when she first opened the door to me was very, how can I say, unambiguous).
The answer to your "question" is because you aren't focusing on the REASON for the miracle that the Maccabees experienced in their overwhelming battles and why the story of the menorah burning for eight nights was possible. I’m Christian, and I never get upset at Muslims and Jews for having different beliefs at certain aspects. I believe we all worship the same god, all 4,500,000,000 of us 😄. It’s cool seeing what the Torah covers that the Bible doesn’t, and same with the Quran. I can happily say that I’ve read them all, and to me I know god is in them. No matter how many times people say “YouRe WroNg” I can just feel god through all of them.

I agree compassion for all is one of the steps but understanding the events that took place is necessary as well. The Romans acted a barbaric way because hundreds of thousands of civilians including women and children were killed by, "the Chosen Ones." It does no good to neglect that part of history that so greatly impacted millions of lives during their present and still affects us to this day. Jews didn't appreciate Rome wishing to place statues within their places of governance and prayed. Understandable and the ripples quickly became waves.
Every word of the Bible was written by a Jew. Including the New Testament. They all continued to be Jewish and follow the Torah. No where in the Bible does it say we don't have to follow the Torah anymore. Christians ARE Jewish followers but we believe Jesus was the Messiah. That's literally the only difference. My family has been blessed to be members of The Saviors restored church since the restoration over 150 years ago. Since that time my family has had many miracles where Our Father in Heaven has made Himself known to us. He is a kind and loving Father who loves all of mankind. We are all His sons and daughters and we have a Prophet today in our time. When we love Our Father in Heaven above all that the world has to offer it is exciting to see His hand in our lives. Trials are apart of this life and dont disappear with faith but His guidance and comfort is sure.

I remember being extremely little in church and learning about biblical history and it always seemed weird to me that "God" used to literally _talk_ to people. And that was clearly not the case now. But preachers would say s* like "I was talking to God and He said...etc." as if they had some special connection and could literally talk directly to God. Now I know it's ALL bulls*. There were never any miracles. At least, nothing outside the bounds of physics. There's no evidence for any such thing ever. The festivals, rituals, and decorations of religious holidays are pretty. I like them. But I don't believe in what's behind any of it. Never really did. Never will.

The Ante-Nicene age (post Apostolic) was the beginning of the chasm between Judah and Ephraim which both sides (rabbinic judaism and christianity) began the full embrace of "falling away" from the Way, creating their own "god" of clay and thinking themselves the potter. The ONLY event in the Tanakh and Apostolic writings that resembles the "rapture" description is the 1st Resurrection (Resurrection of the Righteous). These are those who with the trust (emunah or "faith") which Abraham had in YHWH, have diligently guarded His commands, striven to make themselves ready (as a bride) AND have the witness of THE Messiah. Those resurrected will be protected and provided for during Jacob's trouble. I imagine that christianity assumes this is a "special, just for christians" event because they believe/teach that they are not of Jacob's (Israel's) tent. This event (prior to judgement) is specifically for those who have NOT MADE THEMSELVES READY! This does not include the world for they care NOTHING regarding His Eternal Way. These are those without the witness of Messiah Yahshuah and/or the Torahless "believers". Matthew 7:20-23. YHWH, who is immutable (no turning of shadows) and declares that diverse weights and measures are an abomination, so, how exactly does He judge any group by unequal weights and measures? He doesn't! Work out thy own salvation with fear and trembling and pray that you are considered worthy to escape the coming trial/temptation that comes upon the whole world! It cannot be overstated how important it is to realize that the bulk of those who comprise christianity, and others, are, in fact, whom YHWH is referencing when He speaks of Ephraim, house of Israel, northern kingdom, house of Joseph, the fullness of the nations/gentiles. This wisdom will allow you to see the full macro vision of His eternal plan for mankind, and able to take the next step in serving and worshiping our Great Elohim YHWH of Hosts and His Son, our King Yahshuah! Rabbinic judaism and christianity are built upon the word, doctrine and traditions of men. They have elevated the word of man far above the Word of Elohim. Both are far different than 1st Century Biblical Judaism and Messianic Judaism. Read and test the Word of YHWH and seek guidance from the set apart spirit of Messiah Yahshuah, without the influence of blind leaders. It is now fast approaching 40 Jubilees since YHWH's offering of His Son. I do not know whether His timing mark is from the Offering (30 AD) or the destruction of Jerusalem (70 AD), I only know that we are in the season. This could be the last decade or the first decade of the last Jubilee. The hour is late and the beginning of sorrows draws nigh! It is far past time to put away the doctrines and traditions of men. Repent (teshuvah) and return to His eternal and perfect Way. May YHWH bless and keep you and yours, in all that you put your hands to. Peace be unto you

In the Bible Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. God didn’t break His rules when He gave the miracle of the oil not running out. He responded to the Maccabees faithfulness and trust in Him. It’s a beautiful story. God will never break covenant with His chosen people Israel and those who are grafted in through Messiah Yeshua. He has not left us in darkness but has given us a marvelous light in His Son. I live in turkey and wasnt very familiar with judaism until recently, even though ive always felt like i was somehow drawn to it.
This year, I celebrated Hanukkah with my grandmother, she is muslim, very open-minded though, on the other side I have been an agnostic for 6 years. But when i lit those candles tonight while listening to prayers and hugged my grandma; I've felt a peace i havent in a while. My celebration was sloppy, which wasn't my intention but i was late, and didnt want this holiday to go away without me participating in it. I will never forget that feeling. I am hoping to bring that peace, that glimpse of hope into my everyday life.
This video literally made me tear up. I'm looking forward to learn more about judaism and its practices.

I thank God for my Orthodox Study Bible. Without this Bible I never would have the opportunity to read about the Maccabees and meditate on the lessons of this war.
Mattathis Maccabee and his sons could have chosen to conform to the popular Hellenic ideals, but they chose to stand with God's Law. The miracle of the oil shows that God does think of His faithful. God's chosen will always appear to be alone, but He is always with us if we truly attempt to follow His Law.

If you really love God, research who the Messiah is. Validate the Christian claims against the Jewish Bible. You will find out that Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah, nor is a Second Coming ever mentioned. Isaiah 53 is about Jeremiah. So please look at the real Messianic prophecies.

I have seen some pretty amazing miracles. He is not silent but you have to believe that He is and expect Him to answer. If you do that with all your heart, He will reach back and He might even do real miracles for you.

Always wondered why some Jewish people have reacted the way they do when I tell them that I am Greek.
You see I sometimes get mistaken for being Jewish (Israeli most of the time!!, is there a difference?) but when I correct them they visibly grimace and one actually turned her back on me the instant I told her I was Greek (up until then things were going swimmingly). Doesn't help that the diminutive of my name, Aristide, is shortened to "Ari" LoL.
Works the other way too.
Some Arabs/Egyptian/Nazi era elderly Germans are initially really cold towards me, but again, they visibly lighten up when it comes out in conversation that I am Greek (sometimes they directly ask) . One Egyptian girl would still give me daggers even after she knew I wasn't Jewish, and would then apologise saying that she couldn't help it and that I kept reminding her of an Israeli in army gear.
Gives me an appreciation of what Jewish people must still go through even in these "progressive" days as all these events happened withing the last 10 or so years (except the Nazi era German lady that my very Aryan looking GF was boarding with while at uni, that was 25 years ago. The look on her face when she first opened the door to me was very, how can I say, unambiguous).

I agree compassion for all is one of the steps but understanding the events that took place is necessary as well. The Romans acted a barbaric way because hundreds of thousands of civilians including women and children were killed by, "the Chosen Ones."
It does no good to neglect that part of history that so greatly impacted millions of lives during their present and still affects us to this day. Jews didn't appreciate Rome wishing to place statues within their places of governance and prayed. Understandable and the ripples quickly became waves.
Even if you believe in Jesus you cannot directly talk to him. There is literally no difference.
Every word of the Bible was written by a Jew. Including the New Testament. They all continued to be Jewish and follow the Torah. No where in the Bible does it say we don't have to follow the Torah anymore. Christians ARE Jewish followers but we believe Jesus was the Messiah. That's literally the only difference. How was that a miracle
I gotta say how shocked I was when I first started to hear this and the narrator said that the heavens are closed that God does not speak to man anymore and that there are no longer Prophets on earth. These are all wonderful teachings I have been taught and witness as truth since I was a little girl. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My family has been blessed to be members of The Saviors restored church since the restoration over 150 years ago. Since that time my family has had many miracles where Our Father in Heaven has made Himself known to us. He is a kind and loving Father who loves all of mankind. We are all His sons and daughters and we have a Prophet today in our time. When we love Our Father in Heaven above all that the world has to offer it is exciting to see His hand in our lives. Trials are apart of this life and dont disappear with faith but His guidance and comfort is sure.

I remember being extremely little in church and learning about biblical history and it always seemed weird to me that "God" used to literally _talk_ to people. And that was clearly not the case now. But preachers would say s* like "I was talking to God and He said...etc." as if they had some special connection and could literally talk directly to God.

Driven by anti-Semitism and the Hellenization of His Word through Greek philosophy, Xianity was born. The Ante-Nicene age (post Apostolic) was the beginning of the chasm between Judah and Ephraim which both sides (rabbinic judaism and christianity) began the full embrace of "falling away" from the Way, creating their own "god" of clay and thinking themselves the potter.
The ONLY event in the Tanakh and Apostolic writings that resembles the "rapture" description is the 1st Resurrection (Resurrection of the Righteous). These are those who with the trust (emunah or "faith") which Abraham had in YHWH, have diligently guarded His commands, striven to make themselves ready (as a bride) AND have the witness of THE Messiah. Those resurrected will be protected and provided for during Jacob's trouble. I imagine that christianity assumes this is a "special, just for christians" event because they believe/teach that they are not of Jacob's (Israel's) tent. This event (prior to judgement) is specifically for those who have NOT MADE THEMSELVES READY! This does not include the world for they care NOTHING regarding His Eternal Way. These are those without the witness of Messiah Yahshuah and/or the Torahless "believers". Matthew 7:20-23.
YHWH, who is immutable (no turning of shadows) and declares that diverse weights and measures are an abomination, so, how exactly does He judge any group by unequal weights and measures? He doesn't! Work out thy own salvation with fear and trembling and pray that you are considered worthy to escape the coming trial/temptation that comes upon the whole world!
It cannot be overstated how important it is to realize that the bulk of those who comprise christianity, and others, are, in fact, whom YHWH is referencing when He speaks of Ephraim, house of Israel, northern kingdom, house of Joseph, the fullness of the nations/gentiles. This wisdom will allow you to see the full macro vision of His eternal plan for mankind, and able to take the next step in serving and worshiping our Great Elohim YHWH of Hosts and His Son, our King Yahshuah!
Rabbinic judaism and christianity are built upon the word, doctrine and traditions of men. They have elevated the word of man far above the Word of Elohim. Both are far different than 1st Century Biblical Judaism and Messianic Judaism. Read and test the Word of YHWH and seek guidance from the set apart spirit of Messiah Yahshuah, without the influence of blind leaders.
It is now fast approaching 40 Jubilees since YHWH's offering of His Son. I do not know whether His timing mark is from the Offering (30 AD) or the destruction of Jerusalem (70 AD), I only know that we are in the season. This could be the last decade or the first decade of the last Jubilee. The hour is late and the beginning of sorrows draws nigh! It is far past time to put away the doctrines and traditions of men. Repent (teshuvah) and return to His eternal and perfect Way.
