Great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Did you learn to sing on your own or have you had any formal training?

Thanks for watching! Yes I currently take singing lessons. I think for me it helps me stay on the right track (for example if I'm singing with bad technique my teacher can correct it before I get too used to singing that way). But no reason why some can't just learn on their own, at the end of the day learning is repetition and consiatency

I like some of the ideas you came up with. Like doing a bit every day. But for guitar I find one cord at a time to small a reward. I don't feel like I'm playing anything. But learn a riff or a part of a song I find very rewarding. Some TH-cam do music tab while others zoom in on guitar and explain. I love those videos. I learnt Greensleeves on my ukulele. By a piece at a time. But regularly playing is a must. And keep finding the hard bit and practicing it too. As well as the easy bit. I now can do all of it without music sheet or tab or help. :) feels good. I must find the time and start again. Thanks for the encouragement:)

Good to hear from you! I would agree if one chord is too small a reward, that you should learn enough so that you do feel rewarded! The idea is to always have a balance between feeling challenges but not overwhelmed. Well done being able to play without the sheet music! Keep at it 😊

@timdoescreativethings Thanks I can play by ear too. It takes some working out but is good when done. Only lead not cords as I don't know the sounds together enough. Just 1 note at a time is all I can differentiate. But you can tell what I'm playing. Then I write it down in tab form so I can play again if I forget. I can slowly read music but only transcribe it to the keyboard. As I don't know names of notes on ukulele or guitar. The bass ukulele is fun with rubber strings. Sound so cool. :)
