Same! I was brought up at a time when the doctors believed that children cannot be depressed, so I received no help until I was diagnosed with anorexia in my mid 20's (a disorder the doctors were just learning about).
honestly i feel for you, i was in the same position, i started feeling anxiety and down around 12 years old and it worsened over time till i tried to seek help from my parents and it took alot of courage and willpower, and to be turned down just pained me in another level, overtime i came to an aunt who that same day brought me in for help, yes without my mom’s permission, but had my dad’s permission, and got therapy that we sneak in either we say i have practice or my aunt taking me out or me and my dad and brother spending time, or sometimes just going to the mall and buy something, i got the help i needed thanks to my aunt who believed me without a doubt in my mind.
Halo is perfect for Halie. As soon as I saw her I was like “wow, she is GLOWING!!”. And then I heard she wanted to be called Halo and I was like that is soo fitting and perfect for her. WOAH. In the vlogs before she went to get help i thought she was smiling. But NOW. Oh my gosh her smile is so pure now. I never knew a smile could brighten up my day the way that halie’s smile does.

As someone who had been diagnosed with severe anxiety and mild depression, it makes me cry seeing how genuinely happy Halie is. I can tell it’s a real smile and I’m so happy for her! It’s also beautiful to see everyone’s reactions to seeing Halie. There’s a lot of people who don’t have supportive family members or family members that try to understand when it comes to mental health so seeing how supportive your family is warms my heart.
This might be weird but I didn’t cry until they said Hallie wants to be called Halo and all of her siblings were just SO okay and supportive of that. So sweet🥺
Never really knew that being so loved was actually possible. I feel so happy that everyone in this family gets space and appreciation. It blows my mind that this level of love and respect exists

I can see why they called her halo. She gives light to so many. Glad to see she's giving herself some of that same light and finding her worth. As someone with severe ptsd and depression, who has been in multiple inpatient programs, this makes my heart happy to see her genuine joy and hope and to see the support from everyone. 💛
After knowing Melinda's story, her hugging Halie had me bawling! Lacey asking to hug her got me going again. And then watching Hannah cry as the other girls hugged Halie just made me lose it! Those 4 girls are such a sweet little sisterhood pack. I'm so glad to see her home. I missed seeing this when she came home, and I'm just so happy to see her feeling so much more confident. And to see her surrounded by everyone who loves her so much
I know from personal experience you can fake feeling upbeat and happy when you have depression, but Hallie truly looks so great. She is glowing from the inside out, and that is so great to see.

As someone who has struggled with OCD, anxiety, and depression for years, I have to tell you that it’ll be a hard journey, even after the therapy. Highs and lows are very real, and sometimes unexpected. Maybe you’ll get triggered by an unexpected event, and the process has to start over again. Don’t lose your hope, keep working and moving forward no matter how hard it is. My struggle officially started when I was about 14, I’m almost 19 now and in SUCH a better place. I’ve had several relapses, the worst of which was when I was 17. I’m finally in a place where I’m able to commit to actions that make me unbelievably happy. I put in my transfer app from OSU to UCF, and I am so excited to have a chance at a new beginning. Good luck on your journey, we’re all rooting for you girl!
Right on the money. I hope Aaron and Crystal are also doing therapy if only to help their children when they are having a hard time coping. As you say, its a very difficult journey and while no two journeys are the same, they all share common denominators. I remember sometimes when leaving the hospital I would have these overwhelming days because ppl are excited to see you back or they want you to "get back to normal" or they outright try to ignore you just went through something major & want to pretend like all is OK and as a teenager you sometimes want to please everyone so you say you're ok, you try to match their hightened mood & just be "your best" but that ends up being a recipe for disaster & you find yourself deeper into the rabbits hole. I hope Crystal & Aaron take special care to not push Halie back into what they consider normal & that they make sure she is really ok & not faking it so that they are ok. Halie if you read this, I wish you all the best. Take it easy on yourself and go at your own pace. You dont have to be perfect, just be you. 🤗

Yes I agree mental health is a journey and something that can fluctuate so much but with the right tools and support it can become so much more manageable, I hope she keeps feeling comfortable to ask for help when she needs it

The first time I see her appeared in video her aura is amazing. She is more relaxed now. She is glowing! At the last part of the video when Hallie said to live in the moment is very true. Never stressed out what happened in the past and worry on what will happen in the future. Enjoy the present moment or the now! What you think and feel now is what will manifest in the future.
1 min in you can see the glow on Crystal and Aarons face Its rewarding to know Halie could turn to her parents and tell them how she felt not all kids can do that with their parents. As someone who had been diagnosed with severe anxiety and mild depression, it makes me cry seeing how genuinely happy Halie is. I can tell it’s a real smile and I’m so happy for her! It’s also beautiful to see everyone’s reactions to seeing Halie. There’s a lot of people who don’t have supportive family members or family members that try to understand when it comes to mental health so seeing how supportive your family is warms my heart.
This might be weird but I didn’t cry until they said Hallie wants to be called Halo and all of her siblings were just SO okay and supportive of that. So sweet🥺

It seems so surreal for me that it is actually possible, this videos taught me in a way that even though i am probably never getting there, it exist and i deserve better than just taking what it comes my way, and for that i am THANKFUL. I can see why they called her halo. She gives light to so many. Glad to see she's giving herself some of that same light and finding her worth. As someone with severe ptsd and depression, who has been in multiple inpatient programs, this makes my heart happy to see her genuine joy and hope and to see the support from everyone. 💛
After knowing Melinda's story, her hugging Halie had me bawling! Lacey asking to hug her got me going again. And then watching Hannah cry as the other girls hugged Halie just made me lose it! Those 4 girls are such a sweet little sisterhood pack. I'm so glad to see her home. I missed seeing this when she came home, and I'm just so happy to see her feeling so much more confident. And to see her surrounded by everyone who loves her so much
I know from personal experience you can fake feeling upbeat and happy when you have depression, but Hallie truly looks so great. She is glowing from the inside out, and that is so great to see.

As someone who has struggled with OCD, anxiety, and depression for years, I have to tell you that it’ll be a hard journey, even after the therapy. Highs and lows are very real, and sometimes unexpected. Maybe you’ll get triggered by an unexpected event, and the process has to start over again. Don’t lose your hope, keep working and moving forward no matter how hard it is. My struggle officially started when I was about 14, I’m almost 19 now and in SUCH a better place. I’ve had several relapses, the worst of which was when I was 17. I’m finally in a place where I’m able to commit to actions that make me unbelievably happy. I put in my transfer app from OSU to UCF, and I am so excited to have a chance at a new beginning. Good luck on your journey, we’re all rooting for you girl!
Right on the money. I hope Aaron and Crystal are also doing therapy if only to help their children when they are having a hard time coping. As you say, its a very difficult journey and while no two journeys are the same, they all share common denominators. I remember sometimes when leaving the hospital I would have these overwhelming days because ppl are excited to see you back or they want you to "get back to normal" or they outright try to ignore you just went through something major & want to pretend like all is OK and as a teenager you sometimes want to please everyone so you say you're ok, you try to match their hightened mood & just be "your best" but that ends up being a recipe for disaster & you find yourself deeper into the rabbits hole. I hope Crystal & Aaron take special care to not push Halie back into what they consider normal & that they make sure she is really ok & not faking it so that they are ok. Halie if you read this, I wish you all the best. Take it easy on yourself and go at your own pace. You dont have to be perfect, just be you. 🤗

Yes I agree mental health is a journey and something that can fluctuate so much but with the right tools and support it can become so much more manageable, I hope she keeps feeling comfortable to ask for help when she needs it
I’m glad you are working through your struggles, but this is about Halo and not you. I find your comment negative, self defeating, and very offensive. You have no idea what she has worked through, what was privately discussed, or what her therapy entails.

as someone who also struggled with depression and anxiety within the past 4 year this is an incredible story and i love how support of you guys were of halie with going and getting help i am so thankful for my mom doing the same and it actually helped me figure out my self worth and helped with me learning how to handle my stress and i encourage everyone if you are struggling please ask for help! and i’m happy that halie is home! wish you guys the best
