I used this method on everyone at the gym, every day, 3 days a week for a year at a school where pretty much every student was a guard puller. I had a ton of success with it because it frustrates the shit out of them until they open the guard to attack and then the opportunity to pass appears. Try it and see. Thank you Mr Scully.
This was so huge for me because I was doing the hips and knee thing and getting broken every time thank you for sharing this video it’s absolutely gold for me and my learning
Work the hip tuck MORE. Its quite superior to what you see here. Im 157 and 200 lbers don't give me posture issues in guard. This is too hand reliant. REAL base, not artificial base👌
This is one I always try to remember. It's so tempting to try other positions especially when I get impatient and end up focused on escape. But this method really does work for me when I'm patient stick with it.
Really good video. These concept videos really resonate with me. I seem to learn more from these than single technique videos. BTW, I’m loving the grapplers guide website. Glad I joined!
Thanks for this Professor. I've only been training 4 months and out of habit frame with both hands on the hips or belt when inside the guard. I know I'm supposed to try and maintain my posture but it usually gets broken by one of the attacks you talked about. Going to try this tomorrow.
Jordan Peterson's triangle setup is pretty good actually. . . man I came here cos I'm having this problem in gi. . . but this will help somewhat, I've seen Renzo Gracie explain the same thing in gi, man this shit never worked when we were white belt. . . weird, hopefully it'll get me past most of the issues I'm having
Can you do a video for breaking posture on opponents that are much larger and or stronger than you? I’m very thin and always work from a strength disadvantage. However, I like playing closed guard but have a really hard time keeping guys in my closed guard. If I do, I usually burn a lot of energy. Any suggestions? Is there a way to request these types of videos on the Grapplers Guide website?

The timing of this is great. Definitely need to step up my posture game.

you're gonna have to move your upper body a LOT and push the opponents pinning arms from this way to that way, lots of ab work
Thank you .
good video the second link not working
What if I use a closed fist instead
Can we grab both lapels at the xiphoid process for the gi? Using a more sticky knuckles approach, is that accurate?

Jason Scully gi video ?
