Ride an e-bike someday. I own one and my heart rate is up to 160 beats per minute every ride. You can just climb so many more steep slopes and ride so much more challenging terrain that no one ever goes back to regular bikes. You also can go for much longer rides.

Entire tricky and challenging portions of trails that I don’t have the power or youth to attempt on a regular bike I can attack and ride with the assist I get from that little electric engine. E-bikes don’t ride or feel like motorcycles at all, just regular mountain bikes that get up to speed with less effort, nothing more. My heart rate is just as high on e-bikes as analog bikes as I simply ride further and climb steeper trails. But, each to his own.

This usually lasts for 2 years and at the end you still have to pay the remaining amount if you want to keep the bike or it is sold and you can lease a new business bike. If you pay the remaining amount, the bike is yours and, depending on your tax bracket, you paid 60% of the normal price and were able to pay it in installments. Business bikes are also automatically insured through your employer. Unfortunately, many employers don't offer this, which is a shame. You are comparing a second hand low end dirt bike to a top of the line Ebike. Ebikes are low volume manufactured compared to motorcycles, you can’t compare them on price. Plus you can ride the Ebike in places where you are not allowed on a motorcycle.

If you are wanting a dirt bike, well, that's for funsies so you are still throwing away similar money as an EMTB anyway. That's boring though! Something about taking a push bike or frame which isn't supposed to be propelled in that manner and building your own custom set-up is just more fun! I've ridden motoX for years but I have multiple motorized bikes with different setups & engines and I have more fun with them than on a real bike
Not to mention it's very very cheap fast fun because anyone can afford a motor kit, pushbike and a couple tools if needed, I've built one from box to ride in two hours flat!

Gearboxes are great for bikes with motors. The resistance is still an issue for normal pedal bikes tho

If you can't twist it a quarter rotation with moderate force the belt tension is too high, and doing this has zero effect on lifespan
