She was in the Brownies and Brownie troops from all over came to her funeral. She was accompanied by miles of cars people we didn't even know. I'm 72 and I miss her so much.
When I was a young boy in the first grade back in 1963, Mahalia would air her breathtaking gift from the lord on our television sets. Each day she would perform two songs in the morning, & two in the evening. My favorite one that made me know the power & comfort of our lord was: "He's got the whole Word in his Hands". I just know that Mahalia had to be sent from God. It was as thou she knew him personally, & let us know from first-hand experience that he was awesome & real. When she would sing.
