  • We added on to the Louisiana chicken coop cages once again. Now the Isbars (chickens) now have a new home of their own. I had a request from Lori asking how to build the cage doors. I explain it in this video.

    I know it's a old video..... That's a great coop design, especially if you have different breeds you don't want interbreeding. Great teaching.

    I like that you not only show the "how" but you explain the "why" as well. Good video Joe. Hopefully you are as thorough when you finally tackle your cabin project. I know there are a lot of viewers who appreciate the time you put in to sharing your experiences.

      +HAFFT1ME Thank you for the nice comment. When I do the new cabin I will for sure be doing videos on it. I like it when people ask to know a certain thing so I can explain that because if I explained everything I think the people would find the video long and boring. I always struggle with that because if I myself watch my video and want to click through it I know everyone else is going to be bored.

    • @henryrodgers3409
      @henryrodgers3409 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +NorthernSeclusion Don't worry about your vids being boring because they are not . Long vids are great because you go into detail in how you do things which is one of the reasons why I like watching your vids . Your construction videos help a lot of people and give us some great ideas . I hate it when people build things and don't show how they did it . Long with details is the way to go Joe . Nice job you did there .

    Hey neighbor, have you considered th rolling henhouse, that has 2 Axles? This henhouse is built light weight enough, that 2 people can push it around, through th pastor. Th chickens will eat all grasses down to th ground, & then you can move it to another location, to keep th good flavored eggs coming in.

    Thank you for showing us how you're making your setup, Joe. My husband is making our brooder box this weekend for 20 standard Cochin chicks coming from MurrayMcmurray on May 6th. The next job (which I'm researching on TH-cam) will be the coop, automatic feeder & waterer, and whatever else we'll need for when they're older. My main concern is the coyote population; based on all the howling I hear from time to time (& yipping puppies a couple months ago), I'd say we have quite a few & they're close.

    Nice coop and clear instructions. I might add a latch for the door on the bottom or mid bottom as well. I have found that if predator wants in they test the bottom of a door pretty severely. Especially racoons. I have latches top and bottom and don't use bottom one in daytime but do when I put the birds to bed at night.

    • @NorthernSeclusion
      @NorthernSeclusion  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +jackson kristoff The treated lumber will last a very very long time, you have to deal with some warping but if you build the whole structure in a short amount of time vs taking a month to build the whole thing once its all tied together the warping is minimal and you have a life long coop. Thanks Jackson. Joe
