My husband is knit worthy. He loves hand knit socks and has loved all the other makes that I have made for him. Just today I was looking at your advent yarn and his remark was; Is that going to be for me! I told him nicely that this one was for me since my last three knits had been for him (two hats and a vest for his Christmas gift). Therefore there are a few husband out there that are knit worthy and appreciate all the knitted items.

Enjoyed the podcast. I am going to weigh in on next years sock club. As soon as Summer Lee’s new book comes out, I will buy it. I just got Charlotte Stone’s latest book. Already have the first one. I will be happy whatever book you pick. Even if you pick out something else. Just enjoying knitting the first pair of socks.
Going to sit down tomorrow and put my stitch markers together for the retreat. So looking forward to meeting everyone and learning from all the instructors🎉 All things Knitty McPurly❣️❣️

It is amazing what brushing a sweater after every wearing does to reduce pilling even on inferior yarn. If the sweater is a very fine fiber such as cashmere, I use a baby brush. For a heavy mohair sweater I use a fine wire dog/cat grooming tool and stroke up and lift the fibers rather than trying to smooth them. I have rescued some beautiful sweaters from the thrift store that looked hopelessly covered with pills.

I have a “rude husband” story as well…ha! I’ll need to write up what happened with his socks and his hat…sheesh…it’s a good story for sure!

I too have the first Charlotte Stone book and am patiently awaiting delivery of the second one here in the UK. On the latest video by Fruity Knitting there is an interview with Charlotte where she talks about her designs. A great watch. Love the tale of the "knit worthy husband". Hope your family gets to enjoy the snow. 🇬🇧

My first grader, Mathilda, lovesssss your podcast. She’s has all the states memorized in alphabetical order now, so the state mugs excite her. And then the moment you did the sweater thing she said PAUSE and ran into her room and tried it. lol 😂

I have the newer Charlotte Stone book but I haven’t done any of the patterns yet. I suggest using this book for next year although it will be interesting to see what Summer Lee’s new book will be. She has also started podcasting again - YEAH!!! I agree about knitting for others. I would love to knit for my grandchildren but my DIL works in retail and doesn’t appreciate anything hand knit.

I have the first Charlotte Stone book and the mail today will bring me her second book. And though I am not especially fond of knitting color work socks, I did knit the chicken and egg socks and the coffee cup socks. Both came out very cute!

I can’t wait to see you at the retreat! I’m about to finish some socks for myself, then I will get yarn ready to knit my husband some socks. I do want to knit some from the Summer Lee book, but my husband really likes the Sockmatician Toe Up Socks, and he might get moody if I try something else. Men. 😑

I could knit pink bunny slippers for my husband and he would thank me and happily war them. Dad was the same. So is the kid. It must run in families.

My husband not only wears the socks I make for him, he tells other people how awesome his socks are. And then, if they show interest, he volunteers me to make socks for them too.

I hope we won't get snow ! I would like to live in a hot place all year round wearing summer dresses and needing only light sweaters in the evening 😂 My husband is rather indifférent to knitting but I don't care, I do what I want, with my money too😊😊😊😊

That husband story is hilarious 🤣🤣 I can relate I never knit anything for my Daughter or daughter in law without getting approval of pattern or yarn so they will wear it. And I never knit for money !!!!!

I am kinda embarrassed to even ask this but here goes. How do y'all add another yarn, whether colorwork or just adding another skein, without tying a knot? I had to add another skein when I knit up some socks, they turned out so cute and when my daughter put them on they completely split in half at the ankle. When I added another skein I just wrapped the end of the new skein with the end of the old one around the needle and kept knitting. Now I just make sure I have enough yarn for a sock or if knitting something bigger I just tie a knot when adding a skein. The afghan I'm finished has knots all over the place; hahaha.

A question - A while back you got some kind of warming rack/oven to dye yarn. I remember it was supposed to arrive, but then didn't. Did you ever get it? Do you like it? Has it made your job easier? Okay, that was more than a question, sorry.

Husbands with their snarky or rude comments about our knitting should remember our hobby revolves around two sharp stabby things …. 😂(kidding!!)
I am really enjoying knitting up January League of Extraordinary Sock Club socks. ❤

My husband had the nerve to say this! I said that my goal is to finish my Anthology Throw with my Knitty McPurly advent (1,153 stitches on each row at the end). I had to take a break and just recently picked it back up.
Him “why the rush, what are you going to do with it when you’re done!”
Me: what do you mean WHAT am I going to do with it. It might go in a museum!!!😂 It’s going on the back of the couch for everyone to look at. He said and use it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It took me a million hours to knit it. 😂

I was going to comment about knit-worthy people but it got so long that I sent you an email.
I'm sorry for all of you who have husbands who are snarky, mine is a doll, as my knitting group often reminds me!

My husband is always complimentary when I am knitting. I have made hats for him and have socks for him on my needles now. My sister, on the other hand, says dismissive things about my knitting. I have given her several items (shawls cowls, hats) that she never wears. She treats my knitting as a silly craft. I have to ask what does she do with her spare time other than meddle in her children’s lives? Am I bitter?….likely.

Crazy Sock Lady has a very knit worthy husband, and sons, and family members and friends; hahaha. She is always knitting for someone else. My husband is "ok" with being knit worthy. I just gotta get much more skilled to tackle anything that he would want. He is not a sweater person. I would have more luck sewing something for him like flannel shirts. (Sorry for listing my comments separately.)
