Very nice collection of Renault 5 also known as Le Car. I still have to giggle when thinking about what the managers of AMC were thinking "No, we can't sell it as Renault 5 over here, let's find a different name!" - "How about Le Car?" - "Great idea!", hehe. A few weeks ago I found a blue Renault 5 turbo in the Majorette Vintage Giftpack - I am also still seeing one of them single packed at a store that is going to close in end of the month. I am still feeling tempted to buy it but actually I already have it in my collection, hehe. But these R5 turbos with its nice butt is such a nice looking car. The Renault 5 was also a pretty popular small car here in Germany. But nowadays these are very rare to find. Here and there still a Renault 4 but more often than the Renault 5.
same here I see more R4 than R5 but I do see some Super5 from times to times , regarding the Le Car in Canada it was called 5 like everywhere else maybe because that fake French name wouldn't make sense for people in Quebec
Nice collection and information about the car :) Renault 5 must've been ahead of it's time, futuristic looking car when it was first introduced in 1972. Square headlights and big plastic bumpers for instance, they became more usual design feature about ten years later in the 80's.
Thanks for watching nice folks 🙂
De rien!
