If you checking the comments for any other way to power up the ultrasonic sensor , you can connect the VCC of the sensor to vu pin of esp8266. Btw nice video
Does vu pin give 5v of power?
Hello. is there any way I can do without usb connect? I thought usb was power method and connecting arduino uno makes that doesnt need usb, but it is still not working without usb coonection.
Thank you so much for this demo. It is very informative and well explained. I want to ask if we need API in between when data is transferred from sensor to Firebase database and from Firebase to android app.
we can do it...there is a platform IFTTT. Where we can create an applet that let you observe the readings in mobile phones

distance values are getting updated in serial monitor but no values getting uploaded in firebase

What's the purpuse of the firebase?
Firebase is a database manager. We can get our real time data. The main purpose is IoT right.. So we can see the reading any where in the world, but the only constraint is that we should have the internet facility and the Firebase link.. I hope I answered your question..
No need for Arduino...ESP8266 have a 5v pin
