Used to eat a the Cotton Wood Inn there in La Grange. There was a runway across the highway. I took my high school dates on a flight and we'd land there and walk over to eat. As with the sound of this song, Texas has the chicken fried steak. Had to watch out for the bluff off the south end of the runway. Good times...

Oh, my goodness!?!? It was worth a "like" just to see how the clicking sound at the beginning of the song was done with the drumsticks! And then the guitar! Ok, the voice could've been a bit stronger, but it was great, too! And then the solo!? Whoah!!!!!!!

ya know I have been listening to this tune for 40+ years and never realized that is has one verse of lyrics after the talking part...it's basically a jam session yet it was extremely popular on the radio which defies the norm. Love the dude's playing with red start...captured it dead on.

Excellent cover , very well done . Yes , the guy with that beauty red Squire has some awesome tone , and a great player ! Must be something magical about those 70's large style headstock Red Squire Strat guitars! Or is it that those red Squire Strats are all awesome ? I have one from 2006 Red Metallic , one of the BEST STRATS I've ever had ! Mine came stock HSS > I had put a Dimarzio EVO bucker with coil split in the bridge , was killer . It now has a full set of Wilkinson . Awesome guitar . This band is great in all of their varied member configurations .

Just watched this again. How is it possible that he's getting that incredible tone with a Squier???!!!
One word "Talent" That's how. The guitar is just a vessel and it does help to have a few foot pedals but other than that its all him!
Squiers are underrated in my opinion...good ones...not the cheapies. The player helps too!
In my ear, he DID’NT. To me he sounded technically correct, but lacked that classic ZZ Top soul eargasm feel. Sounded a bit tinny, too.
The sound is in the player 95% of the time.
Thats why this is the best cover band on YT! No one other can do it better! Congrats guys! The best cover on "La Grange" i've ever seen! FLAWLESS!
