The only time I have really watched Aldis' work is on NWA Power and I must say it is absolutely brilliant. He is such a convincing, multi-layered heel and he presents himself brilliantly as a champion. It always feels to me like there is so much going on with his character.

  • @jimjiggles1474

Aldis is good in the ring, good on the mic, looks like a heavyweight and carries himself in a professional manner. He's the only world champion I've been able to take seriously and been interested in watching for some time. Moxley is boring and Jericho's run didn't make me care. The Universal championship has never had a good champion. The WWE championship has not been held by someone who I've been interested in watching since AJ's run 2 years ago (the rest of the show was always dross). Drew's carries himself well, but WWE booking isn't helping him.

Aldis has been fantastic as NWA Champ. You are right that he's the only one that can be considered a Champ. Reminds me of former AWA Champ Nick Bockwinkle. @@jimjiggles1474 Rock and Austin were never true tweeners, though cause they could do heel stuff on the mic and in their actions but we knew they were faces. Aldis did something incredible in that as a viewer you did not know if he was a heel or face and that element made him incredibly interesting. It actually made him a more realistic character cause in real life people don't see themselves as heels or faces when they fight in boxing or UFC. He would do promos where he would praise his opponants yet would make a case for himself as someone that cannot be beat and it was actually intimidating. The one before facing James Storm was actually scary. lol I had never seen anybody do something like that before. He was mostly winning his matches clean while using mindgames. He would brag that he is great like heels do but at the same time would praise the NWA and tradition.
And while I was happy that he turned heel and formed Strickly Business(being a Horsemen NWA mark like myself), I thought his matches and promos were not as good after that. The promos became more obvious ah ha ha I'm a bad guy, see my swirling mustache.

As far as I’m aware, Corgan is funding it singlehanded. So compared to AEW, NWA has less advertising, it’s on TH-cam so regular viewers are hard to come by. Also lack of funds mean talent roster is smaller than AEW and WWE. Frankly that could be a good thing, especially since studio wrestling is niche.

As nice as I’ve heard Nick is, he does come across a little paranoid and needy sometimes - look at how he’s jumped on this. I also think
