- In this episode we go Scuba Diving in the Island of Utila in Honduras as we continue our backpacking Central America Series (2019)
Utila is part of the Bay Islands in Honduras and attracts lots of backpackers and scuba divers due to it's reasonably priced diving. We chose to dive with Parrots Dive Center as it's owned by locals and have a wonderful ethos. We would highly recommend them.

In case you don't know us - let us introduce ourselves - we are Chris (48) & Marianne (51). We are a married travel couple. We recently quit our jobs and sold our belongings to travel full time.
After more than 22 years of marriage we are still best friends
The aim is we are going to step foot in every country in the world before we die - or die trying !. We are currently also planning an epic around the world road trip. So stayed tuned for more clips as we TREAD the Globe in either Trudy the TREAD camper van or armed with our backpacks!
We will share with you our adventure and will post regular vlogs and videos of our full time travels showing the best the world has to offer and hopefully inspire you to travel more.
Currently we are backpacking our way around El Salvador and over the months will be continuing to explore and sharing the rest of Central America.

Glad you enjoyed it - It was lovely as it was run by locals and they actively tried to employ locals - which meant there was not a large percentage of the money being shipped out of the local economy 🙏🐟🌴👍

Not a fan of scuba diving but willing to do it one day. I went to Utila on December 2020. I went to eat and explore the island. Not watersports there.

Also is it worth to buy 10 dives? Do the sites offer that much to view?
Not sure on the other dive shops - we were recommended this company ... and if we went back ... we would be straight back there !! They were great and super helpful 🌺🤗👍 and very friendly 😍🎉💚 best wishes Marianne xx
Hi Not sure on how you would get there - rome 2 rio online is a really good way to plan transport - or check at your hostel / hotel for info. We felt safe all the time and Utila is fabulous, and the guys and girls at Parrots Dive Centre were super friendly and recommended where to eat and drink - but everywhere was lovely 💜🌺🐟🌴💃 Enjoy xx
Where's the best place you've scuba dived so far?
Hi Adam, we have been lucky enough to dive in a few great places, and diving with Mantas in Indonesia was a big highlight !! but the sea has beauty in every corner and something for everyone 🐡🐟🐠🙌
@@TREADtheglobe I've just dived in the Philippines, perhentian Islands in Malaysia and Thailand so far. Diving in the Philippines is pretty good. I haven't been to Central America yet I keep on going back to asia.
Hi Adam - The Philippines is on our hit list !! and we love Sipidan / Mabul in Borneo - so thank you for the tips - but diving in Marine protected areas always means you get to see fish !! We have been to some places that are over fished and the corals are beautiful - but the fish are missing LOL 😉🤗💜🌺
@@TREADtheglobe yeah borneo is high on my list next time as well as a few places in Indonesia. Philippines is so easy to travel with everybody speaking English and u can find empty perfect beaches. Where r u heading to after Central America? Must be hard travelling with the £ so low at the moment I've cancelled my travelling plans for now
Hi Adam - we are in the process of planning a big adventure - we are going to drive our van around the world !! We are sharing it all on our website, FB and TH-cam etc - and we are planning on being in Malaysia for next August and will be back diving in Borneo !! YAY - there is a route map of our plan on our website and on our TH-cam channel - We are really excited to be off probably in the January - but currently planning and prepping for the trip 🤗🙌💚🚐🌺
