    Erica, Looks like a great deal for the car! Getting a 36K worth car for 19K is amazing!
    You were already paying leasing costs every month for the past 3 years, correct? Is that the reason the price was lowered?

    • @onecutecouponer
      @onecutecouponer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Thanks! Yeah, I was already leasing and I got my lease below market value due to a sales event. So I had super low payments on a 4 year lease plus a buyout promise of 20K. Even though the market changed and there’s no way they’d offer this deal now, because I signed 4 years ago I was still able to keep the same offer.

    Hey Erica!! I bought my washer from home depot in the clearance spot! It was brand new! Someone purchased it as an online order but decided they didn't want it so they dropped the price! It was great! Got my LG top load washer for only $300!

    Erica I want to worn you on getting a Samsung anything appliance!!! If it's not a TV I wouldn't get it! I know a couple of people that work on appliances and they both said that Samsung's are one of the top problems they get call's on that constantly need to get fixed and I believe it. My husband and I bought a double sided Samsung Refrigerator/ Freezer in July of 2020 and ever since we bought it all we ever had is trouble with it!!! It's been serviced for the same reason 5 times now! Now they are sending us our my money back since we keep having problems with it! Like I said if it's not a TV I wouldn't get it. Someone said they rip people off because those services can be done for a portion of the cost, that's true but unless you know a certified mechanic who knows how to work on the Benz... I take mine to the dealer where there's a warranty .. I didn't realize you can get the equity at the end of a lease.. I'm going to look into that.. Yeah it's sad that you missed your appt to get your car fixed and your washers needs to be replaced or whatever but you have the money and the way to make things happen.
    Imagine having your fridge go out, your washer tear up, your truck windshield get cracked by tree, had to fix to renew tags. And your daughter's car tear up. All during the summer while you're trying to feed and help take care of 5 grandkids. While paying bills, keeping things going and on top of that getting a needle stuck in your eye every six weeks just so you can keep being able to see your beautiful grandkids.
    We are living on disability and daughter got her Batchelor degree and still can't feed her kids.
    There's a whole lot going on with people in the world and you just got to pray through it!

My washer is Samsung and it's ok. I went with the Maytag/Whirlpool dryer, love it. TV went out a month past warranty They refuse to replace. My watch recently stopped working and they tried to say my warranty was out. I had to argue the rep down that it hasn't even been a full year! Wanted my credit card information to pay for return shipping and cost of repair. I told the rep, no ma'am. I have my receipt from Best Buy proving when I purchased my watch.. I had to send copies via text. That's when the entire conversation changed.

    Some people say leasing is bad however, I leased my last car and it was a Mazda CX-5. At the end of my lease my buyout price was $17.5k. I had 3 options, buyout the lease, return the car or sell.
    I sold the car to CarMax for 26k I walked away with 8.5k and CarMax paid off the buyout price of $17.5k. 8 walked away with 80% of the money I spent to lease the car.
    However, one must note that some dealers and banks don't allow you to resell the car.

    Update did you go with the deal and what was your actual savings and is leasing better than buying a car?

    • @MegaBpop
      @MegaBpop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For the most part leasing is NOT better than buying a car. Some ppl get accustomed to paying a certain amount of $ a month for a car payment. Then just stay like that bc they turn in their leased car in 3 or 4 years for a newer one and then repeat. My point is, pay off your car and save that monthly payment money. With the saved monthly amount of money save 1/2 for future car maintenance issues and out the other 1/2 to pay off your other debts, your mortgage faster and if you already have that paid off then save it for one day buy a car and pay cash. In other words don’t be a victim to the continuous of always having debt. .

  • @meekshouse21
    @meekshouse21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Erica I feel like the car was still the same as the one on the lot. If you add what you have paid monthly on your lease and add the $19k, that is the total you paid for thr vehicle. It seems like all they did was subtract the difference of the vehicle worth and what you paid and charged you the difference.

    • @onecutecouponer
      @onecutecouponer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A lease goes back to the dealer at the end of the lease term and you leave the car lot with nothing.
      The fact that I was able to leave with my car for a fraction of the price was a steal!
      My lease buyout was pre negotiated for well under market value right now. Since the used car market is thriving, my car also increased in value.

      @@onecutecouponer I'm not knocking your hustle at all, a couple of decades ago, I decided to study car dealerships. After extensive research and reading many books I can say that when you walk into the dealership without a game plan, the dealership is like the casino: The house ALWAYS wins. I encourage you to take a look at YAA (Your Auto Advocate) here on TH-cam the next time you want to purchase a car. If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I am wondering if they saw potential expensive damage while servicing your car due to neglect and just don't want it. You have to consider the market as well. I don't trust anything that portly guy said to you, they all say the same things. They are trained to make people feel like they are winning and play on people's emotions. "Congratulations! You saved $400!" (and we saved $5000). If you really research the business and check out Your Auto Advocate, you'll see what I mean. Truly saving on a car takes the right timing, research, patience, and strategy. Anyway, I hope it works out for you!

      Luxury cars are very expensive to maintain. As you can see, even after pre-paying for service they try to weasel out of helping you. Hyundai never gave us issues even after needing an appointment several months later with our pre-paid maintenance.
      With how crazy the car market is at the moment you might be better off selling for a premium price while you can. Even without experience selling your car, you can get a good deal with Carvana or Carmax, just ask around for quotes. Made $7,000 over our original purchase price on our Hyundai! Isn’t that wild?
      You could use that money towards a new lease/purchase of a car brand with much more affordable maintenance and reliability(!!) over the years like a Honda or Toyota. Otherwise paying for parts and maintenance will be several times the cost if you keep a luxury brand.
      Just looking out for you on the long game! The Homework Guy on TH-cam is a great resource regarding car reliability, purchasing, and market trends especially during these strange times.

    I got with Lexington law in 2018 to help me get some things off my credit that were still effecting my report from when I was 17. I'm 44 now & these things that were on my credit from way back win were paid off long time ago & had still not come off my report.
    Anywhere I paid Lexington law for 2yrs $119 a month to help get these thing off my credit that should have been off & they always had an excuse saying they were waiting on a response from the people who kept reporting this to my credit. I canceled Lexington law in Feb of 2020 & disputed the items on my credit myself & got them dropped off within a week. NO LAWYER NO PAYMENTS, JUST DISPUTE IT MYSELF. 2018- 2020 USING LEXINGTON LAW PAYING $119 A MONTH MY CREDIT WAS 586. DROPPED LEXINGTON LAW IN 2020 DISPUTED MYSELF ITEMS FELL OFF IN A WEEK NOW 2022 CREDIT HOLDING STEADY OVER 800.

    Erika, you should look up customer reviews on appliances before buying. I had a GE set for 20 years still ran great but I wanted a new set. I donated the GE set to a family in need. The Samsung washer already has rust around the bleach reservoir at 3 yrs old, it's inside, there's no reason for it to rust. The clothes are not as clean either, I think the agitator makes a huge difference.
    Lexington Law is a rip off, they literally charge for services you never get..I'll pass. Look up this company for yourself or any company you align yourself with cuz we value your knowledge on things.
    I'm so glad you got that amazing deal on your car, congratulations 🎊 👏 💐

    OMG GIRL! YOU PAID $500 FOR AN OIL CHANGE SERVICE! THEY RIPPED YOU OFF! I KNOW THAT MERCEDES ARE EXPENSIVE BUT AN OIL CHANGE WITH THE WORKS SHOULD ONLY COST YOU LESS THAN $100 & that lasts every 6 months. How your car hasn't blown up the motor is a miracle. I go to the Ford dealership to get my Nissan car serviced with the works & it's only $50 every 6 months. & My car uses expensive synthetic oil too. Was that $500 for another like 8 services? If not than you got ripped off...

      @@ginabenton-dempsey41 yes. It's called a maintenance check up. Thank you. Here in the south we're I live we call it an Oil change with the works. They check everything & make sure that it's updated & working correctly. They let you know if something needs replacing & when. They put new oil & an oil filter in your car with the check up, But if something else needs maintenance that's an extra cost for them to replace it So unless your getting everything replaced with new (oil, oil filter, brake pads,air filter, tires,antifreeze,brake fluid & ECT) for that $500, then yes! She just got ripped off.

    Bruh! You better keep up with the maintenance from now on! Not changing the oil for that long DE-STROYS the engine so it may not be as great of a deal as you think in the end! Hopefully you haven't already messed it up too bad. Matter of fact, I have a Tessie, you need to just get an electric car. Maintenance is way less frequent and less is required to maintain.

    • @graciousgirl5161
      @graciousgirl5161 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing about getting an electric car wait until you have to buy a new battery. They are extremely expensive! Also, the mileage they tell you that you're going to get on the car is not true, it's like your cell phone battery depending on how long ou use it the less charge you get!

    • @ralonb
      @ralonb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@graciousgirl5161 batteries are expensive but are under warranty for a really long time and as long as you take care of it, it will last. Even after the warranty expires, you can get insurance to cover just about anything. There's a Tesla that made the news recently because it has over one million miles. As far as mileage, yes, running the air, heat, your tire pressure, the number of occupants, etc can all affect mileage, but the same is true in gas-powered cars. The MPG on a new car is an average and subject to a lot of variables.

    If this was “normal” times they would have worked with you to keep you as a customer. But since we are in a recession, they are not making money on service because people are being frugal. My ex husband worked at a car dealership for over 25 years. I know how they do. I went in for an oil change to Nissan and they did that FREE “check” and told me my car needed a whoooooole bunch of work. I get the free check with my oil change and then take my car to my mechanic to do the work at half the price. This Nissan dealership did this before… telling me I needed a bunch of work. Well, again, most of it was A LIE. I didn’t need half the stuff they said. And the URGENT stuff was NOT urgent at all! And to make it worse the guy in charge of service WORKED WITH MY X HUSBAND and HE KNOWS WHO I AM and still took advantage of me. (My dad watched Toyota scare a woman into getting brakes done that day. )

At least you're tall.I also want the feature that I can set it to start up to an hour later. That gives me time to put everything into it and if I forget to come back, it will start by itself. Another feature that I'd like is for it to tell me when it's finished on my phone in addition to dinging.
    With the number of crazy people on the road and that bother your vehicles, I don't want another obvious luxury vehicle. I'll get mine ? fully loaded and go undercover!

    MB owner of over 30 years. Take my advice: Find an INDEPENDENT MB mechanic as soon as possible. They will save you at least 50% off maintenance and repair costs. MB dealerships charge astronomical prices for even basic services but a good independent MB mechanic will keep more of that hard earned cash in your pocket while you drive around in style!

    The one on the lot like yours at $36k is the INFLATED price. In reality it’s actually only worth what yours is worth. If you were to buy a NEW car the price would be INFLATED also so you would be paying more than it’s worth. I hope you decide to buy your car AND KEEP IT. This is not the time to be buying cars or homes. We saw people buying inflated prices homes with adjustable rates over 10 years ago. Rates went up and values went down and people had NEGATIVE equity in their homes and couldn’t afford the higher rate mortgage and LOST THEIR HOME.
