I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
@@LeilaniClaire The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?
Thank you for mentioning Kentucky! We love it here & was glad to land here after 12 yrs of looking for a new home! It's quieter than Tennessee & similar to west Virginia!
Michigan and Illinois are leaver states as far as retirement is concerned. I can say with certainty their retirees are leaving in droves to states like Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee for better weather, lower property taxes and car and home insurance. Plus, they enjoy people saying Yes Sir and yes Mam.
Wherever you retire make sure you have a will or trust and make sure you have accounts fully filled out with beneficiaries named PLEASE!!! My mother passed recently in Florida and I’m sure she thought she had things filled out properly but unfortunately did not and now I’m spending thousands to be able to claim her assets …Florida has from what I’m told the hardest probate to deal with!!… just an FYI ..live well God Bless🙏🏼
Michigan is the safest state in the country with respect to natural disasters. Great health care. Outdoor recreation cannot be best with opportunities for boating, fishing, hunting, biking. But if you don’t like four seasons, and like hot weather you should chose Florida!
@@NeedToKnow1947 With FL getting hit with so many hurricanes, 14-15 insurance companies pulled out of that state and home insurance has been sky rocketing for the last 10 years. I'd rather move to AZ or NM.
Just my experience, but I have always found Florida (Miami particularly) rude and unfriendly. In addition, I find the heat and humidity stifling. I like all the other states, though Michigan is too much winter and dreary cloudiness for me. Of these, West Virginia hits the sweet spot; very friendly, interesting historically, lost costs, and extremely beautiful.
@@tomluxury If you don't mind the heat, I'd say AZ, NM or TX. At least with AZ and NM and it gets too hot you can head up the mountain. Cloudcroft and Ruidoso are nice and mild during the summers.

You must be getting paid for advertising Michigan
Sorry you feel this way. I thought it was a suitable option for the list. What are your thoughts on Michigan?
Your joking right
Surprised not to see the Carolinas on your list
they are definitely in the top 10
I moved to SC and regret it
@@lr5439 would be interested to know why!
Moved to SC from Oregon. Love it here. Great weather, decent cost of living and wonderful people.

What are you a Michigan realtor? The governor is a horse's behind.
Florida is horrible

My wife and I live in Florida and are planning to move elsewhere. Unbearable heat and it just keeps getting more expensive

I live in MI and I'm shocked to see it in this list. Older people don't want to walk on snow and ice. They snow bird it to FL.
None.
None lol
Which states do you think are good for retirement?

Looking at Myrtle Beach SC. But my wife is pushing me toward Tennessee. We are going to visit both for a month
The grand strand is beautiful
