I've played at various TubaChristmas events over the years (in at least five different cities, including the first one in 1974 at Rock Center when Alec Wilder and Harvey Phillips were there). Much as I love both my tuba and euphonium, I'm not dedicated enough to play in the rain! Snow, ice, OK, but not rain. Those who play on in cold NYC rain are worthy of praise!
Can't remember the exact year I played in it at Rockefeller Center, but I remember John Bowman, from Sha Na Na was there to announce - 76 or 77 I believe

Myself and some of our low brass band students participated in the local TubaChristmas. They had a blast!
TubaChristmas at Rockefeller Center is coming for 2023 this December 10th starting at 3:30 pm.
