- A tour of Liverpool City Centre in England exploring the Royal Albert Docks, Pier Head, the 3 Graces on the waterfront and Liverpool Cathedral. These are the sights you’ve got to see in LIVERPOOL! 🇬🇧 See more of my UK videos here → bit.ly/mwt_UK
My Liverpool vlog concentrates on Liverpool City Centre as I walk from the Royal Albert Docks to Liverpool Cathedral. Along the way I delve into the history of the Liverpool Waterfront and the Royal Albert Docks as well as learn a thing or two about the 3 Graces - 3 spectacular buildings lining Pier Head. I also managed to take a ferry across the Mersey - a 50 minutes sightseeing boat tour along the Liverpool waterfront.
From there I took a walk through Liverpool City Centre admiring the Queen Victoria Monument on my way. The monument was built in Derby Square on the site of the now destroyed Liverpool Castle, one of the oldest parts of the city. After stopping by St John's Garden to pay my respects at the Hillsborough Memorial I made it to St Luke's Bombed Out Church - an old church partially destroyed by Nazi bombing raids in World War 2.
As my walk around Liverpool continued I came across the tallest Chinese arch in Europe which signifies the entrance to Chinatown. From there I passed the spaceship-like Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral on route to the largest cathedral in the UK - Liverpool Cathedral.
I’d wanted to visit Liverpool for a while and was not disappointed. I very much enjoyed walking around the city and learning about its history - there’s definitely plenty to see and do.

Nobody ever seems to film the area around Speke Hall...such a beautiful setting for an historic Elizabethan manor house
Thanks for the suggestion, if I return I'll see what I can do. Looks like a cool area + good for plane spotting?
Beautifully made city and video! I appreciate you coming and showing the city in a good light.
My pleasure! Really enjoyed my visit, thanks for watching!
I love to watch this video. I love Liverpool City.
Interesting city, glad you enjoyed the video.
Brilliant video of a fabulous city, Amazing architecture throughout the city, awesome parks. It's sad how the city still gets dragged though the dirt because of a small minority of idiots and lies from a certain newspaper. The city need a bigger music/events venue because bands overlook Liverpool and always choose Manchester which is a shame.
Thank you Steven, much appreciated. I'd wanted to get up to Liverpool for years and I wasn't disappointed with what I saw - to be honest I could have done with a few more days! It's unreal that those tabloids just made things up to get their story - should never have been allowed. Yeah I agree about the music scene, with the history the city has it should be the place to be for both small and big events! Thanks for watching.
It's no wonder that Liverpool gets a lot of domestic tourism. Great video.
Thanks Ali, glad you enjoyed it.
thank you for making this possible for us to see! cheers!
Thanks for watching, Róża. All the best!
Great video of a wonderful city!
Many thanks! Agreed that it is a wonderful city, I really enjoyed my day! Thanks for watching.
Good virtual walking tour! This video makes me understand how Liverpool like! Thank you for sharing your nice work:) (Like1!)
Thank you very much, your support is appreciated. Definitely a cool city to explore!
As a born and bred Scouser (who moved down South decades ago), many of the older parts were very familiar but the newer parts seemed strange, and could have been anywhere! A trip down memory lane nevertheless. Thank you.
(BTW...not only is Liver (the building) pronounced as lie-ver, but it's neighbour is pronounced as Q-nard - perhaps only Scousers know this?)
Thanks for watching the video, glad you enjoyed it and were able to take that walk down Memory Lane (for the most part anyway!). Thanks for the info regarding pronunciations, I was sure it would be pronounced the same way as the city! Who would have thought!!
Amazing city! Thank you a lot for the clear speech and interesting places!
Glad you enjoyed it! Are you planning to visit?
GOOD MORNING! How did you know we were watching in the morning? 😯 That Royal Liver building 😍 That's a lot of demolishing on that site. Sad history about St. Luke's but would be a nice place for a wedding today. Didn't know the longest Cathedral was there.
I know everything!! 😂. Perhaps I could say it was a lucky guess but the truth is I must have set AM instead of PM when scheduling this video a few weeks ago. Doh! I was just as surprised to see it live this morning when I woke up as you were! Yes some really fascinating history in Liverpool, much more to do than I anticipated - really glad I got to visit!
IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE
Livin' life in peace...
Loving the Malta Gozo hat making a Liverpool appearance, and so pleased to see you in Liverpool. It's a UK city that I've still not made it to yet and I can't understand why not as it has so much history and culture! ! I had no idea that Liverpool had the largest Grade 1 listed building, but it's stunning so can understand why it was given the status! You had lovely weather for this trip. Excellent video and looking forward to watching the Beatles one later in the week as I find time to catch up on everything I've missed the past couple of weeks!
Thank you Caroline, much appreciated. Glad you are back safely from your travels and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us! I really enjoyed my couple of days in Liverpool, the weather forecast looked terrible in the few days before my visit but thankfully once I got there it improved considerably. In fact the sun was shining and the sky was a deep blue as we headed into the early evening - perfect for a few photos of the Liverpool waterfront!
Lovely to see the birthplace of Beatles have a great day mate see you around and keep in touch.
Thanks for the visit. Yes will do! Really enjoyed my day in Liverpool!
wow beautiful oklahoma someday i wanna go there.. sending my big support DONE keep in touch godbless
Thanks for visiting! The city in the video is Liverpool not Oklahoma.
Thanks for showing us Liverpool ! 💖🤗
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Wowww Amazing place ..
Yes it's a fascinating city - awesome to get the chance to visit. I very much enjoyed my day! Thanks for watching.
great video and explanations! Keep it up, really liked it
Thank you Alba, glad you liked it! 👍
Thanks for the video tour! In the beginning of June I will visit Liverpool and you provided me with some great tips to look out for.
Thanks for your comment, Jorgen. Glad you enjoyed the video & found it useful. Best of luck with your planned visit, it’s an amazing city - you’re going to have a blast. 👍
Good Morning from Oklahoma! When you mention Liverpool, I think of one thing only....Beatles. Nice to see Liverpool is so much more.
Good morning! No doubt the Beatles are a big part of the city's history but yes there is lots more to see. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much there is to do! If you like the Beatles I'm sure you'll like next week's video!

up the pool, hope yer had a nice time mate, always love seeing people visiting our little city. :) it also helps in breaking down the countless amount of negative stereotypes there are
Thanks, I really enjoyed my trip to Liverpool - definitely deserves more tourists! Thanks for watching.
Awsome mate, I'm showing a different perspective, I'm droning these landmarks from the skies on my channel. Keep up your great work 👍
Sounds good, I did include some of my own drone footage in the video - it was a lot of fun to shoot. Especially the cathedral, it looks amazing from the air.
@@MattWhitingsEurope sure was amazing. When I did my flight a couple of days ago around the cathedral it was so windy up there I lost connection about 5 times but just about got the footage I needed for the video, keep up your amazing detailed work mate on your channel, I'm new to all these so I learn as I go 👍
Thanks, sounds good. I will check out your video over the next few days. Keep doing what you're doing!
The facades of the buildings look similar to those in Stockholm, Sweden.
Cool, I've been to Stockholm and can totally understand why you'd say that. Hope you enjoyed my little tour of Liverpool!
I have good friends in "the pool" and have visited twice from the U.S.
That's cool, quite a way for you to travel! What did you think of the city?
Congratulations, you passed. Great video
Thank you!
Phenomenal got two weeks to go
Sounds good, have a great time!
2 weeks to go and counting yipeeeeeeee
that building is the blackie building next to chinese arch i am a scouser from the city
Hi Paul, I didn't realise that, thanks for the information. What's actually inside?
@@MattWhitingsEurope it had a pool tables table tennis for the kids in area i lived in that area
I see, pretty cool. Sounds a bit like a social club or something like that?
Liverpool as the oldest Chinese Community in Europe .
Thanks for the information! Very interesting.
5:39 It's not pronounced Liver as in Liverpool, it's pronounced 'lie-ver.'
Thank you for the information, Penelope - I assumed it was connected to the name of the city and would therefore be pronounced the same.
Also the second building in pronounced The Queue-nard Building not Kun-ard.
Man your pronunciation is way off, Liver building is more Live,,,,,er over the internal organ and the Cue,,,, nard not kunard.
Thanks for the info Mark, surprised to hear that Liver is pronounced that way especially considering the name of the city and how it is pronounced. Thanks for pointing it out.
Forgot to mention the slave trade. Idk
Unfortunately there was a lot of important history and places I couldn't get into the video, it's only 15 minutes long after all.
