Gemmy 2004 5ft Life Size Dancing Skeleton - 4 Songs

Happy Halloween!!! This is simultaneously one of the best and worst things I could’ve uploaded today- it’s one of my favorite and most significant Halloween items in my collection, yet there are thousands of videos of this thing in action already… it’s nothing special here 😂
This was my first Halloween lifesize ever, and what a great one to start with- it honestly might be my favorite. I randomly came across this at an antique mall on November 12th, 2022 (so after Halloween) for only $75. I was shocked, of course, especially because that place is usually way overpriced. I was sure there was a reason it was actually affordable, but when I got it home and opened it up… it was virtually brand new in the box. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had never been used before- it came with all the original packaging, including the locking pins still in the base and bags still over the hands. The best part? It was still fully working! For about 2 days that is, until it randomly decided to quit altogether. He would say his first phrase, then just cut off completely. I was so upset lol, the last thing I wanted to do to this pristine piece was take it all apart and ruin the originality. But I did, and after lots of trial and error, I was half confident the issue was a dead motor in the dancing mechanism. I managed to snag a dancing mech from a 5ft Santa on eBay for only $15 with a new motor in it, and with my fingers tightly crossed I put it in the skeleton. It works great again, and I couldn’t be happier with it. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think I prefer this over the monster version. It just looks so cool in person, and I love the song choices. I still can’t really believe I own this, it’s really a dream come true. That’s really all I have to say. Have a Happy Halloween!
