    Safiye is the only Empress who saw the reigns of 7 Sultans :
    Her Grandfather-in-law Sultan Süleyman I
    Her Father-in-law Sultan Selim II
    Her Husband Sultan Murad III
    Her Son Sultan Mehmed III
    Her Grandson Sultan Ahmed I
    Her another Grandson Sultan Mustafa I
    Her Great Grandson Sultan Osman II

    The winter disaster was historically true. Superstitious people believed it was divine punishment for Mehmed's execution which made him even more vulnerable.
    Kosem and Halime team up again. In fact we can clearly see that Halime is not stupid at all but as I said before she is too revengeful for her long-term plans to come true.
    Safiye's death was like even epic, and one can see that she too suffered what he made her believe. In addition I like the fact that Kosem does not tear the ring (unlike Nurbanu or Turhan).
    And Kosem is clearly not sad but she is not happy.

      @Leo Yep.. But still disapoiting as I prefer they make the transition and then make the redemption with Safiye as she had formed Kosem and had a great softness for her great grand childrens as it was historical ( plus I really like story about redemption)

    What a glorious death of Safiya sultan. She admitted her lost and bestowed her ring of power to Kosem , and died resting her head on the arms of her most loyal servent Bulbul, letting him free from slavery. She fought for son and killed herself with the grief of his dead son. Unlike Kosem who later became so blind with power that killed her own sons Murad and Ibrahim and also tried to kill her grandson Mahmed, who was just a kid then. Kosem died lonely, with so much insult and brutality.

    Bye Safiye.
    One of the most interesting and powerful characters in MCK after Kosem.
    Although i dislike how they made Kosem and Safiye enemies and the whole Iskender plot was just useless.
    There should been previously show about Nurbanu and Safiye.
    There are some parallels between Safiye and Hurrem:both were favourites of sultans,had a enourmous influence as Hasekis(in Safiye's case as Valide too),both were accused of witchcraft,both were accused for the deaths of popular sehzades(Hurrem for her step son and Safiye for her grandson),both were hated by jannisaries and statesmens and some people(at least Hurrem did a lot of charity and some people liked her because of it,while Safiye did very little charity)and etc.
    There are also parallels between Halime and Mahidevran: same area or origin(Caucasus)they weren't hasekis,were respected by people and janissaries,were humiliated by their sultans,their sons were killed by the order of their fathers, accused of causing rebelions, both lived long lives and outlived their children, grandchildren, friends and enemies and etc.
    Also, wow Safiye lived during the reign of 7 sultans:
    Suleiman I-granfather of her husband
    Selim II-her father in law
    Murad III-her husband
    Mehmed III-her son
    Ahmed I-her grandson
    Mustafa I-her grandson
    Osman II-her great grandson.
    She surely had seen Hurrem when she was child, as Safiye was companion of Humashah Sultan(daughter of Sehzade Mehmed).
    It's interesting.
    Also Gulnus Sultan had surely saw Kosem when she was child,because she had entered the harem during the early reign of Mehmed IV.
    Handan had also seen Nurbanu as she was previously servant of her daughter Gevherhan Sultan.
    And according to some sources Shehsuvar Sultan was servant of Turhan Sultan when she was Valide Sultan,so she saw her too when she was child.

      Yes agree with you except for two:
      I got more parrell between Mahidevran and Turhan than Halime and Mahidevran but I explained why before.
      I got more parralel too with Hurrem and Kosem ( they broke the rules in their own ways, Hurrem with the harem, Kosem in her way to regency even if Handan was the first co regent successful, they got chauvinist critical for that, accused wrongly to provoke the end of Ottoman Empire , being the favorite of Sultan, very good diplomats) than Hurrem and Safiye ( even if I see your point).
      But I find interseting parralel between Kosem and Nurbanu too ( even if Nurbanu and Turhan shared the most the similarity) as Ibrahim without Kosem was a true nothing just like Murad without Nurbanu.
      P.S: A true interesting fact with Safiye era. A lot of womens were rulers of an Empire or a country ( Mary Stuart of Scotland even if she abducted and let always men do everything in her place, Elizabeth I, Catherine of Medeci, Queen Joan of Navarre, Safiye from Ottoman Empire and in safavides Pari Khan Khamun who was a powerful princess and later the mother of Shah Abbas).

      @@nesiacha3659 Yes i agree,there are more parallels between Hurrem and Kosem and Mahidevran and Turhan.
      But there are also some parallels between:Safiye and Hurrem,Handan and Kosem(actually there are)Mahidevran and Halime,Halime and Meleksima,Nurbanu and Turhan,Hurrem,Safiye,Kosem with Gulnus
      the Gulbahars with Mahidevran,Turhan and Saliha, Handan and Mahfiruze, Halime and Saliha, Turhan, Dilashub and Shehsuvar, Hafsa and Turhan, Ayse and Afife with Hurrem and Mahidevran, Mara with Turhan,Gulbahar(Selim I's mother)and Kosem,Despina with Hurrem and Ayse.
      Agree about Safiye era.

    • @nesiacha3659

      @@drfhgs428 Yes agree. History is always repeated. But I wish a show on Pertevniyal like we said before, even Safiye and Gulnus are a little player compared to her on some points XD

    • @drfhgs428
      @drfhgs428 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nesiacha3659 Yes history is always repeated. It's interesting Safiye,Kosem and Shehsuvar saw the reigns of 7 sultans and Gulnus saw 5 sultans.
      But Gevherhan Sultan(daughter of Selim II and Nurbanu Sultan)saw the most(of 8 sultans,she was surely alive when Murad IV ascended the throne)and Hatice Sultan(daughter of Mehmed IV and Gulnus Sultan) saw the reign of 6 sultans.
      But the most interestings are Safiye-she saw her rivals as Valides(Nurbanu,Handan and Halime),but didn't live enough to see Kosem as Valide, as they were very close irl and Murad along with Osman and Mehmed were her favourite great grandchildren.
      While Gevherhan(Nurbanu's daughter) saw Kosem as Valide Sultan.
      Shehsuvar saw Turhan,Dilashub,Gulnus and Saliha as Valides.
      It's interesting parallel(according to some sources) how she as child was servant of Valide Turhan Sultan and then in Old Palace she become servant of Gulnus Sultan,then a bula during Mustafa II"s reign and after that his second favourite.
      That's like the oldest valide sultan(Shehsuvar was on her late 70's,when she became Valide), was once servant of the youngest Valide(Turhan was on her early 20's when she become Valide).
      Yes definitely Pertevniyal deserves a show.
      Safiye and Gulnus are little players compared to her.

      @nesiacha3659 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@drfhgs428 So true, it was impressive to make them see all the reigns of Padisah.
      Geverhan Sultan must have been shocked to see the title Sultan became less and less respectful ( just see what jannisary did to Osman II).
      It seems that according to some sources that some powerful womens were first servants of Valide , or Haiseki.
      It is good that Safiye die before seeing the murders of her great grandsons ( Mehmed and Osman II), she would maybe blame herself for the death of Osman II ( after all it is safe to said that she is one of the reason that Halime became more vengeful and without mercy for her ennemy). I said that but I think none of the Haiseki or Valide famous ( Hurrem, Nurbanu, Safiye, Kosem, Turhan, Gulnus) were evil even in the end but "just" cruel, because of the toxical environnement , theirs sufferings and the fact in theirs position you can't be a 100% angel even if some make big mistakes.

    Султанша держалась до последнего, лишь бы не утратить свою власть над Империей, но Кесем!, Ловко заманила Искендера в ловушку, а Сафие ещё поверила ее верному Псу Зюльфикару, что он спрячется от всех, но была обманута, короче, вот она, Смерть, Достойная Великой Госпожи, последнее, что она чувствовала, это Падение ее Головы на плечо Верного Бюльбюля! 😭🥺😬

    The legendary former valide safiye sultan lost. She admitted that valide kosem sultan is more powerful and gave her the ring of hurrem sultana. Also, did you all notice how kosem sultan talks to her? She talks to her on second person 'you' and not with respect 'you' , the second person which she talks with everyone else

    To the moment that Iskender threat Zulifkar Pasha who was always good to him and even betrayed Ahmed to save him , I really started to dislike him. I can understand why he is mad on Kosem and Ahmed but then he want to kill all his nephews only by vengeance ( and not by survival or because he wrongly think that one of his nephews would kill him). Plus he is stupid.
    Yeah. Humasah cry for him but I am sure that she would really dislike him if he became a Sultan.

    • @nesiacha3659
      @nesiacha3659 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Leo Think the same... Plus he would make no pity for any sehzade even a former inoffensive Sultan like Mustafa

    • @nesiacha3659
      @nesiacha3659 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Leo To be honest I am disagree on the part when he fell in love with Kosem. It was only platonical and we can't
      control our feelings (he never proposed to Kosem to cheat on Ahmed with him) even if he was stupid to paint a portrait of her.
      But for the rest totally okay, it became greedy. I would have understood (although it would have been very dangerous and a stupid move) if he had returned to the Ottoman Empire to reassure his mother and sister and want to stay with his family. Or if he had been pursued even in exile and suddenly he would have no other choice to survive to be Sultan.
      But no he does not greed for power and wants to kill innocent people including a man he always helped and took care of him if he opposes him (Zulfikar).
      I think that the moment when he discover his origin , he turned to be more and more angry and greedy...
