I went to school in Alabang way back when. It's a nice area where there's a lot of exclusive & gated communities like Ayala Alabang, Hillsborough, Alabang hills, etc. Filinvest Festival Mall, Alabang Town Center & Madrigal Business Park already existed even before BCG was being developed.
*ayala land* ayala land is one of the major developers of BGC & the makati they're also behind the ayala alabang / filinvest area the ayala business center & the I.T. park in cebu they also have land developments (real estates) in bacolod, iloilo, pampanga and a few to mention i guess, the ayala clan has a private summer mansion in the tagaytay area (it's almost like a mini-mall in size)
Philippines is getting richer and richer and modernizing all in neighborhoods all over Manila. Manila has become the back office capital of the world - just imagine all of the businesses in the world that need to offshore their call centers, accounting, IT, admin etc. Filipinos can do the work cheaper and better. All of that is moving to Manila and as a result Philippines is developing at an extremely rapid rate. Combine that with the growing tourism demand to the point Philippines will be #2 behind Thailand soon, Philippines is quickly on the way to greater prosperity and world attention.
@@samquinn6427 Yes, the fact that Filipinos speak English is a big factor in its attractiveness to Americans, Brits, Canadians, Australians and other Western tourists. Also, there's no where on earth that is comparable in terms of island adventure - there is literally endless islands to explore, gorgeous palm tree landscapes and beaches in Siargao, island hopping with hidden lagoons and white sand beaches with aqua water in the middle of tiny islands with mountains in El Nido. The natural landscape is absolutely insane and nowhere on earth comes close to it. Combine that with the increasingly modernizing neighborhoods all over Manila like BGC, the luxury malls, low cost of living, Japanese and Korean brands and investments, UK and American brands at the huge malls etc. Philippines can absolutely be the #1 most visited country on earth and overtake Thailand. They just need to keep modernizing, cleaning up the slum areas, promote the Filipino culture and keep it safe and affordable. The Filipino hospitality and friendliness is already well known around the world and a big reason why people want to go there.
Hi Mergim. Please be careful when your driving your scooter around. I was just in an accident and my car was totalled here in CA. Thank God I am ok. Be safe! Love your videos!
Parañaque Alabang and Muntinlupa are cities south of the NCR, there are lots of gated subdivisions and villages in these 3 cities. Within these villages are commercial areas and schools. So essentially the suburbs. People who live here travel to BGC and Makati for work.
Alabang/Filinvest City used to be a govt property owned by Department of Agriculture under the Bureau of Animal Industry. It was formerly the country's Stock Farm, until privatized and sold to the Ayalas and Gotianums of both Ayala Land and Filinvest. The second property you went to is owned by the Villar family.
Hey! I live in Alabang! It is more laid back here 😊 You missed the area in Evia where the ceiling is just like real clouds.. You can also check The Glass House near Evia. Stay safe on your trip❤
🇵🇭💖Thanks Mergim for going in places around the Metro now. You will find nice places too. Then, there's Enchanted Kingdom and Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, on your way to Tagaytay. There's Angelfields along Tagaytay road for a stopover to eat. Of course, in Tagaytay, there are lots of interesting places aside from Taal. Farther south, Batangas beaches and many others. Enjoy!👍🤟
As you enjoy coffee, I would recommend that If you're gonna continue the loop towards the taal volcano, when you pass by lipa, try Cafe de Lipa's Barako Joe (Kapeng Barako). Kapeng Barako is a variety that is grown in Batangas. Also if you're gonna pass Tanay, Rizal, there's a lot of coffee shops there that has a good view like Palpitate Coffee (though i haven't tried their coffee yet).
Welcome to my Neighborhood Mergim. Here you would see gated subdivisions and villages Ayala Alabang is the Beverly Hills here at the south area just like Forbes of Makati. When u decided to go to Coffee Project I knew you would love the ambiance its like a library with plants and it extend all the way inside the mall with comfy couch.😊
Hi Mergim, I have two ideas for new videos for your channel in the Philippines. Both are close to Manila! First one is to visit Angeles city and meet a guy named David McCready aka bananaman. He is a retired London firefighter who lives there. He has created a feeding program that goes out with volunteers every day around Angeles and feeds the street kids. This would make a great video for you vlog!!! Second idea for a video is also near Angeles. You have been there before in your vlog to a place called Clark. Spend the day at Aqua Planet. It is one of the largest water parks in the world. Some of the rides are amazing! We go every time in Philippines. Thanks, and safe travels 😊
I come from the city of Muntinlupa, I can say that our culture and lifestyle are the same as life in the city and the province. You will notice this if you compare people in some establishments like malls, parks and others or compare the people in MOA compared to Alabang Town Center, Southmall and Festival there is a big difference
Alabang is actually part of southern Metro Manila! Next time you should explore more of the Filinvest City Central Park and also check out the Festival Mall and Alabang Town Center.
I think he knows that Alabang is in Metro Manila. In fact, when he was inside Coffee Project he said it was one of the best looking cafes he’s ever seen in “Metro Manila”.
Festival Mall Alabang is the Destination Mall to visit with its Water Garden, River Park and various indoor entertainment facilities including the largest indoor roller coaster here in the Philippines.
If im not mistaken Filinvest, Ayala Alabang was either first to develop their area or at the same time with BGC. Somehow BGC overtook Filinvest, Alabang in developing their condo buildings. Probably because majority of Filipinos work near north in Metro Manila compare to the distance going to the south which is Alabang. Also the south(Las Piñas and Parañaque) is less populated than the north.
Few vloggers able to show filinvest Alabang. Trifate and you so far tour around. Arabica is taste sour but the beans more expensive compare to Robusta.
Hey Mergim, i like your style of editing with your videos. And the way you talk while doing your videos. Congrats on reaching 70k subs. I just recently reached 10k subs while visiting the Philippines. I stayed there for 2 months. Back now in Wash dc. Will see you on your next video.
On the way back, pass by Alabang Town Center. Best example of how laid back the south is and you should check out the town center cats :) The south metro is technically suburbs and on the weekdays the malls here are far less busy as everyone is in work in the bigger cities or at school. Weekends are crazy.
You should have a stop over in CUENCA, BATANGAS try and asked the local about ZABLAI POINT or the VIEW DECK in Lumampao,Cuenca... You would love it 🙂🙂🙂
Mergim that means that your body has already adapted to the tropical climate of the Philippines. Getting your jacket from the compartment shows you feel cold upon reaching Tagaytay. England is cold, isn't? Will be be looking forward to your next episodes.
Mergim -- Haven't seen that route in any other vlogs. Already the comments from fellow followers are informative. I have a good feeling about this series.
Evia Lifestyle Center is an interesting mall to visit but the most interesting mall to visit in Southern Metro Manila is Festival Mall, Alabang with its gardens traversed by the Alabang River and various indoor amusement parks including the largest indoor roller coaster here in the Philippines!
Oh I thought u're going to the Riverpark inside festival Mall and also Alabang Town Center a d Molito in front of it, also it's near Azumi Boutique Hotel, Bellevue, B hotel, Crimson and Vivere Hotel where u passed by. I hope u got Wind Residences.
Alabang city is older than BGC. Philinvest owns that Japanese mall in BGC, as the franchise holder. Alabang is under the umbrella of Muntinlupa. I did ask myself why Alabang is slower in developing infrastructure than BGC? I'd say it's because BGC is near Makati and Ortigas. Alabang originally was a farmland with mangoes as its main produce.
Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, Ltd. is Federal Land's partner in bringing the first-ever Mitsukoshi Japanese Mall in the Phils. Federal Land is the developer of the Seasons Residences (towers sitting on the podium of Mitsukoshi), Central Park, Grand Hyatt Hotel & Residences in North BGC. Filinvest is not a franchise holder of the Japanese department store brand.
You may explore Crosswind Tagaytay and feel the western american vibe, its the most beautiful place of that area where you can see the beautiful nature line w hundreds of pine trees as you drive around and many restaurants along the streets. Just ask the guards to enter a village so u can see and appreciate much the beauty of the surroundings.
You are born truly a free spirit man😊yap it will good to show the prices of different accomodation as well in tagaytay, it will be more handy for us once we visit there.
When you got coffee at Coffee Project I was like, Oh No! 😅 But yes, their coffee shop aesthetics are lit. You should check out their branches in Tagaytay Crosswinds. Also Nearby Ruined Project. Same family.
Try the North Loop...the supposed route for the Boss Iron Man 2023. Which would probably be several vlogs if you decide to explore the numerous sights and sounds along the way lol.
You passed 2 big mall in Alabang, the humongous FESTIVAL supermall and the smaller but cotier Alabang Town Center. Evia mall is actually way beyond the heart of Alabang already. Maybe next time you can feature the 2 malls of Alabang in focus. Enjoy your stay in Tagaytay Mergim. 👍
While there, you could have gone to one of my favorites, the Mushroom Burger, it's totally vegan. The guard said, you're gonna give him a hard time in English 11:03.
I there was some climate change going on right now. Usually if it's march, even in evening it would be hot and humid because summer starts officially at March. So I dont know why it's cold at night right now.
You were in my area, the south. I'm pretty sure you passed my Subdivision since you rode through daang hari (where evia mall is) then dasma then tagaytay
Goodpm Mergim😊 Sour Coffee is not good, might be bad beans, the tannic acid used to eliminate pests and wrong brewing method. Have a safe and happy travels my friend😊
The Starbucks at Evia is quite old, one of the first establishment. People go to starbuck not because of the aesthetic but it's brand name. The Evia Mall is owned by one of the most hated politician in the country. They also own Coffee Project and Vista. They need make up for their aesthetic but their coffee is rank as one of the lowest. They're trying hard to be as fabulous as Ayala Megaworld SM Robinsons but they rose because of their political clout and manipulation. That is why there are only few people going to their mall.
We're going to miss Justin. Hopefully he travels back to the Philippines soon.

I find this comment very funnt

Man!!! Welcome to the SOUTH!!! ALABANG!!! Filinvest is also a growing City! Safe Trip Merg!
Beautiful sunset in Tagaytay. Love the descriptive way of the streets, mallls, stores Merghim. Can't wait for your next adventure. God bless.

Alabang is not a City, it is part of Muntinlupa.
Wow i feel like this will be an epic series mergim. This will def take you to 100k
Alabang looks nice and so is that Evia Mall. Beautiful cafe!
Wow I haven’t been to this place thanks for featuring it.

My favorite place Alabang.. Missing this place
Take Care, Mergim. Please drive safe always with your motor while on your camera. Enjoy Tagaytay! 👍✌️❤️👌🙏

@mayor Mergin, there's a part in the Evia mall where the ceiling is painted like a sky and the light changes. The floor is full of restaurants
Looking forward to your 3-day Laguna-Batangas loop series.

Safe travels Justin! Hope we see you again soon
beautiful country Philippines 🌎🌎🌎🌎
Thats our city, Filinvest city in Alabang. Very modern indeed but quite expensive cost of living.
Evia Lifestyle Center is an interesting mall to visit but the most interesting mall to visit in Southern Metro Manila is Festival Mall, Alabang with its gardens traversed by the Alabang River and various indoor amusement parks including the largest indoor roller coaster here in the Philippines!
Of course mergim I'm always enjoying and looking forward to watch ur daily blogg...

Great visuals on that motor bike ride from BGC to Tagaytay. Coffee Project, All Digital and the EVIA are owned by Villar.

Alabang , especially Ayala Alabang is a place for rich people before BGC and other malls evolved. Go to Alabang town center mall.
Great vid
You should have a Q&A video which is an opportunity to know who Mergim is.
