The first two seasons, particularly season one, were magic in a bottle. Once we get into Season 3 and immediately after Olivia’s relapse the show falls off a cliff narratively
This! I rewatch S1 all the time but I cannot rewatch the rest of it but I did finish the series. Same with Arrow and Flash; first seasons were phenomenal.
Even though Spencer plays captain save a ho the first seasons were still great. The downfall happened in season 4 when he sacrificed his graduation for some underclassmen that he didn't even kno. That's when I said to myself this show needs to end. I been holding on because I really loved this show but its a shell of its former self now. I'm standing on business this time when I say this is the last season I will be tuned in.
I agree 100% with your take on Spencer. The acting is great but the characters “Savior” complex makes it hard to watch. But with one of the few teen tv shows with a black cast, I am grateful the show has lasted as long as it has. Even with the poor writing.
I started rewatching today; The first few seasons are so good especially the first season 💯💯💯 I completely disagree that Spencer is a bad protagonist; they just make him make the same mistakes sometimes.... He's the best "teen" actor on the show 💯💯💯
I've watched it since the beginning, this is definitely the last season. The ratings were not good last Monday tied for the worst since it started. They ran out of good content
@shaysworld6249 I'm still going to watch, I have the CW app and catch it on Tuesday . I didn't even think about places that make you pay like cable or Hulu. It's my guilty pleasure for my ancient self lol !!
I think one of the main reasons why this show has lost its touch is because it became repetitive..and this is for all the shows characters. A problem comes up, they apologize and later on they make another mistake and so on and so forth… when you think a characters arch is done the writers come up with a dumb plot to keep a character on the show
I watched all 5 seasons, and I loved all of them. I am really excited that they are coming out with a season six. I just don't want to see Coop and Patience together as a couple again. Patience was a horrible girlfriend, and Coop really need to do better.
I liked the show when it was high school drama which people usually don’t like. For me the drama wasn’t that realistic but I could see it happening and it was also interesting drama like Olivia’s addiction or Jordan and Simone becoming parents or Laylas depression. I think when they moved away from high school they lost the power of the drama. When it was harsh realities like addiction depression or the fact Billy loved Spencer more than Jordan, it was so much better. Although I hate coop, she was a good bridge in the first 2 seasons but after she was shot she lost all purpose and added nothing to the story. I think Layla should’ve moved away after season 3 and maybe rejoined the show in season 5 because her and Jordan are a good couple. Hopefully they are the mains in season 7 because they have good chemistry on and off the show
I watched every episode since the first season with so much excitement for the next. This season I didn’t even subscribe to Stan (Australia) it’s the only place I could watch AA. I watched the first two episodes today and as we speak trying to get a refund on my subscription because it is not worth the $13 a month. What happened? I’m not excited to watch anymore. I think the time jump is the problem. We missed the anticipation of wondering if Patience would make it etc and the whole Spelivia long distance trials and tribulations
I was so!! Addicted to this show. I used to live tweet it every week. Then when they went to college ( so I'm guessing season 5 ish) I just lost interest and stop watching. It's been dragged out to long. Season 1 was amazing!!
If I may make a suggestion. I think you should look into a British show called misfits. I dont know how underrated it is but it is fantastic. Has some very big actors in it throughout that end up in bigger mainstream shows and movies later.

He’s not wrong about the meaningless repeated mistakes, and forced drama…I find it very annoying
the show started off strong but like Cw does with all its shows they Drag it out till its hard to keep its Identity.

I discovered the show in 2024 and I must admit it's amazing

It's down because the cw is removed from streaming services it's only available in certain areas

Do you know how many people tuned in
Layla and spencer
@@phillipfrantone4153 367k, that is not good, but I want to get the streaming numbers . I'm going to try and get them today.
Why is Spencer a brat? I hated how he was more hurt than the kids of Billy when he died.

You won’t believe this..
This show became so ass and cringe with its repetitive topics lmao the first 2 seasons were great

COMPLETELY AGREE
3:00.....I can't agree with that. Coop is his best friend. If someone threatens your homie, you're gonna let it slide?????
@@Lila12384 ohh shit. I had to go back & rewatch it.
They should have made Asher's dad abusive not an alcoholic. That's where I thought they were going.

I wish it was more football-focused. It became a teen soap. Jordan and Asher are my fave male leads and Layla is my fave of the women.
I just subscribed can you do another video of this I enjoyed it can you do one on snowfalll and raising kanan and power
bro I literally did the same thing I wasn't interested in the Coop, patience, and layla stand alone scenes so I just skipped over them

Olivia's more annoying than spencer no bs
Y’all trippin. The show is still great 💯
The show hasn’t felt the same since season 3

@@luckyplayer1644 what you on about

I'd love to know what movies you consider good.
The show after season 2 lost its meaning
Heavy on riverdale that show turned to bs
