The final straw with the show for me is when Spencer took the blame for stealing the Beverly trophy that the Crenshaw kids took talking bout “ what about their future “ while bro is risking a D-1 scholarship …. And then the cringy discipline panel in the gym and everyone busts in like “nah I stole the trophy “ no it was me I took it ….. and then the counsel just is like” o well” and everyone just moves on 😂😂😂😂 yeah that’s when is said no more

never watched it but the pattern with most Western TV shows, is that there's not really a plan to end, only a plan to see how long they can make a show run which is a problem for story progression

I don't get the hate for the later seasons of this show. I might not be as consistent as the early seasons, but I really loved it all the way until the end of season 6, and some of my favorite moments are all in the back half of the series.

This is a show like I liked moments of. I couldn’t stand the whole show, but I loved moments of it. Still do.

Empire had a strong first season for sure kind of like the walking dead and gradually fell off, also it didn’t help that Empire was trying to compete with Power so I can assume some people came with a certain set of expectations

I completely agree with you about the writing but I gotta be honest I can't stand Billy hahaha. I honestly find him to be the biggest try hard in everything he does yet people act like he's such a great, important person but all he does is give generic coach speak for everything. I don't find Taye Diggs to be a good actor to be honest. I don't entirely blame him - the writing for his character is just really bad to me (as it is for all the other characters like you said) but by far Billy Baker and Coop annoy me the most on the show. And until you brought up Spencer I couldn't put my finger as to why I couldn't stand this dude but you hit the nail on the head

I really liked this show but yeah when every episode now has a social or political commentary about essentially the same problems IRL yeah I really sowered on this show but it's a shame cause there still are things in the show I like. Spencer being a superhero all the time actually gets adressed in a later season of the show but of course he kinda just unlearns it.

I watched empire for Cookie, Lucious, but Jamal was the soul of the movie so the moment they took him off, it became uninteresting for me.. ❤❤
