This sub ended my friends BJJ career. The guy he caught in this was a huge athlete who just powered himself up from the submission with a jump. That tore my friends knee into pieces, his heel was facing the ceiling. All ligaments gone, knee completely torn apart. Be super careful with this.
Sorry to hear that mate, that sub was brutal and facing huge opponent means more force from them, because that happened to my ankle last night even tho i tap early, it still swell and hurt
@@altaydogahan342basically if you realize what they’re trying to do, you can try to turn back into them by pushing there legs away. if not you try to block their arms but once your in it it’s almost impossible to escape. These are excruciating, unlike some other leg locks where you might not feel it much until your knee explodes, you’ll definitely know when someone sinks this one. 😮
@@percyfaith11 Not about your whole body mate, it's literally the rotating muscles in your knee vs. their quad. No chance you win in that unless you get the ideal finishing position quickly. I also messed up my knee bad years ago from going for this exact sub, and the dude wasn't even that strong.

This my favorite calf slicer/ham sandwich. Flexibility of the individual affects it a lot. Some people will scream before you even sit up, some people don't feel it when you're hipping into them. Despite that, calf slicers are really safe. They cause pain more than damage. Still be careful though.
Bro please go to Wrestling, Not Bjj, its by far not so complicate and you dont do such dangerouse moves that could destroy your whole legs or Arms if done sligthly wrong, and is much more useful for mma
Got caught in one last week and it locked on so tight so fast even though i tapped right away i still got hurt. Not my training partners fault, but man that hurt. Felt like someone cut the muscle right in the middle with a machete.

Why would he turn? Why would you just grab your leg? I see your little foot right there. I’m going for a foothold ankle I have a leg Lock or a knee bar so much beautiful stuff right there. Holy cow.
Oliviera once finished a fight with this exact same submission, it's called the calf slicer if I'm not mistaken
True
He has been my favorite fighter since the 1st time I saw him fight. So happy when he got the belt

Calf slicer is where you are digging your wrist into their calf. Typically done from within a guard.
Using the shin instead of the forearm is still a calf slicer @@iSophiAletheia

CALF SLICER?! MAN I TRIED TO LEARN THIS FOR MONTHS THANK YOU
I blew my own meniscus doing this on someone, if they have stronger legs then you and can straighten their legs it can cause damage to your own leg.
If they have stronger legs than your whole body, you'd better quit bjj.

In real speed you didnt cross your leg, if you dont cross your leg you have a possibility of blowing your own knee out in transition.
