@@Tom-xn8nn I mean, you can. I wouldn't recommend it though without a camping reservation. Some people sleep overnight in the parking lot so they can take on a hike in the morning.
We were just at glacier and the reservation system was no big deal as long as you were at a reliable cell signal. Got ours both days that we wanted. Also, go at mid morning the lines are short
Thank you for the informative video! Question. Do we (my partner and I) each need a standard pass and then just one private vehicle pass? We are planning on bringing our car.
I remember sitting along Going to the Sun Road in 2014, taking a break from peddling just above the loop, and talking with the former Park Superintendent about increasing visitation in the off seasons. He suggested that a permit system may eventually be needed. Well.... It happened. I'm so glad I had 35+ years of unfettered access to Glacier. I remember when crowds were on August weekends only and you could still find a place to park at Logan Pass at 10 am. The influx of people in the Flathead valley since 2000 finally drove me away in 2021. ( I moved to the Andes.) TOO MANY. WAY TOO MANY RUDE PEOPLE. A wilderness experience ruined.
It will be beautiful around that time--it might get a little hot and cooler in the mornings and evenings. I have a video on that here: th-cam.com/video/KDGqrcJnE9c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x4FpyH-7tulMegBW
We have reservations at rising sun motor inn Aug 26-29. We also have two boat tours booked, lake McDonald on the 26 and Many Glacier on the 28 as well as a red bus tour on the 27. So what reservations passes do we need? Will be heading north to Canada on the 29th. This is our first visit and a bit confusing. Thanks!
You are all good! Your tours will work as your reservations for those days. You will need a parks pass for the days you are there, but you can get those at the entrance.
Hi Alex, thanks a lot for your helpful video! I gonna visit GNP in late August this year. The reservation system is indeed a bit confusing and overwhelming... A part of my itinerary is the Grinnel Glacier trail, but with a boat tour. So if I make a reservation for the boat tour, I dont need a reservation for Many Glacier, right? is end of August still super busy? I'll be there from August 25 till August 30. Greetings from Switzerland
Glad this was helpful! And yes--if you have a boat tour booked, then you don't need a reservation for that day. End of August tends to be one of the busiest times of the park, so getting a boat reservation is a great way to make sure you get in!
It's very nice, great to meet you ma,am,and make new friends and am interested in being in a relationship, someday, with the right person,I leave the situation in the Lord Jesus hands,I would like to someday get married to a lady!!!!!!!!!!!😅🎉❤
Have any questions about the reservation system? Let me know here!
If I enter the park after 3 to avoid the reservation .can I stay for multiple days

Yes! One pass for one car!

I hear you. It has definitely changed-especially in the last five years. Living in the Andes! Love that part of the world!
Wow. This was very helpful. It is a bit overwhelming but informative. Thanks.
Glad it helped! And if you have any questions let me know!
how is the weather mid august? We are 67 and pretty good health. Just don't know what to wear.

I understand the point of the reservation systems, but man do I wish I could just show up at my convenience😩😂
I totally know how you feel. ❤️
Things will work out ma,am,trust in the Lord God,my thoughts and prayers',are with you and others!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE YOU ALL y😅❤
As of today, a boat tour on St.Mary Lake from Rising Sun , DOES NOT GIVE YOU A VEHICLE RESERVATION FOR GOING TO THE SUN ROAD.
Yes-because you do not need one to enter the East Side at St. Mary!
Thanks for the info! Do the shuttles start running as soon as the GTTS Road opens?
Yes! That’s usually when they start running! 😊
