Ganz phantastisch. Superlativ. Danke, Samson, du beglückst mich. Danke, unbekannter "Rauflader"!
J repeat always the same thing , j can't say more : here we are above piano-technic , above notes , above piano there is somethinģ as a soul that comes from elsewvere , not only as perfect-piano 2020 : meticulous piano with very great technic only
I agree the one comment below regarding the speed Francois took here. Right from the first notes I feel he is in too much of a hurry. I much rather prefer the recording by that great master of the piano music of Franck and Faure, Germain Thyssens-Valentin (my 1st choice), as well as the recording by Sviatoslav Richter (my 2nd choice) over this.I am a great admirer of Samson Francois (especially in Chopin and French music), but here, for me he, is missing it a bit.
Ewald Steyn : many people prefer russians often j think for me the French and the Russian are two different concepts it's a raison for Russians are the best in Rachmaninov Prokofiev often in Chopin j agree about this but in fact the French his less technical in his spirit than russians Richter of course Debussy Ravek is he the alone ? for everybody ? It's a personnal choice , it's your choice and the mine
I think Fauré and Franck are different enough to require different qualities of the performer. Mme. Thyssens-Valentin is and will always be unsurpassed for Fauré, for me the same approach for Franck comes out a bit understated. Numerous other fine readings are out there.

How can he run through the second piece with so much disregard. If I were his countryman, I would turn in my grave!
