You turned an easier single coupling job into a cut a replace the whole line job. Congrats.
For goodness sakes somebody get them some J-B weld, or even some duct tape.😂

I'm pretty sure that line is pvc, literally the easiest pipe variety to work with. How hard is it to put a coupling there and glue in a new piece of line!?
Piece of rubber and a hose clamp works well for years.
I always just have to ask why? I mean, most fittings are sub $5....
