My opinion? The loss of RPO service and US mail contracts by the railroads did more to kill intercity passenger service in the US than either jet airliners or the interstate highway system. Although all 3 certainly were the major factors.
Now I'd imagine these bags would have been a lot fuller in their hey day. Is that correct?
