If I had been on Titanic, I would absolutely have joined them in that lifeboat. Would definitely try and get a few others to join us. Call it an adventure.
Oh joy - another episode! I discovered your channel only a few months ago and binge watched every episode and was thrilled when this popped into my feed today. I love your story telling of this most fascinating subject and very much enjoy the topics you choose, always delivered with your special brand of humour! This is a topic I never tire of and appreciate the hard work and efforts in research you undertake to deliver each episode for our pleasure. Thank you!
Another brilliant video! How do you not have more subs? I find every single episode fascinating and so well done. Glad you are recovering from your accident. Can't wait for Epusode 10! Be well.
Another great video… I wish you had more of them and I know you can if your subscriber base goes up… as it should. I’ve sent your channel to a number of titanic accounts telling them to watch - you make it really come alive on such a personal level. Do you have a Patreon?
Thank you. It’s neither I’m afraid. It’s the Graupner premium line model. It came pre built. I have tried many a times to build a model from kit but sadly my skills as a model builder are, well, non existent. Every time it ends up looking more like the wreck.
My great grandfather was titanic survivor and crewman Albert Horswill. He was on cutter lifeboat one with Cosmo and Lucy Duff Gordon. It was reprehensible how the Duff Gordons were treated, Cosmo was a fine person who made a generous gesture to those crewmen, Albert included.

@ i hats seeing people vilified on a hunch. I bet your g’pa had some things to say. I’m 73 and been a Titanic nerd since i was 12. Going to Belfast this spring to check out the museum.
I think it doesn't help Sir Cosmo's case in modern times when a popular animated series (Fairly OddParents) has a co-lead character ALSO named "Cosmo" who is a complete moron! 🤭 [The weirdo on the popular sitcom, "Seinfeld," is also named COSMO Kramer. Yeesh! Sir Cosmo can't get a break in pop culture!] But, yes, Duff Gordon got a raw deal because of a moment when he made a dumb remark. Then again, Lady Duff Gordon didn't seem like she was all that bright at times, too...
He was SIR COSMO! Knighted as he was and on that day in that age arguably THE most important person on that ship. As to his health and well being one answered to the Queen ! No way he and Lady Duff are going down with the ship . Come He'll or High Water!🤔☝️🫵👈🙏
It's interesting that there is a photo of the Duff Gordon's sitting nestled together in their lifeboat while it is still on deck yet to be launched sans the other passengers. Hmm?🤔🤫🫲
The Duff Gordons bought their passage on the lifeboat. £5 given each to crew to replace lost kit. Rubbish .... With only 12 on board When It left the sinking ship and no attempt was made to save anyone from the water . With room in the boat for 45 persons It seems very suspicious 🤔 He, as a 1st class male he should have never been allowed in the boat When so many people died Including women and children. Now with the crew in his pocket and in his favour, he was in charge. He took the Cowards way and saved his own skin Whilst others died. If It was me,I would have made my way to the smoking room ,ordering a few stiff drinks and waited for my fate.

I love your videos my friend. I must ask you, Is the your model of Titanic the Trumpeter kit (It looks a bit to big to be) or the Billings boats one?.

Didn’t the guy say they were offered the money way after the ship sank? If so, how was that a bribe?
It was supposedly a bribe to keep the lifeboat empty and not go back after the sinking to puck up more survivors out of the water.
@@circusvano6394respectfully…according to the video all those folks were already dead when he offered the “bribe”. So what was he trying to get? I don’t like disparaging people when there is no evidence.
It’s likely the offer of money was indeed made some time after the ship had sunk and well after discussions of returning.

Another note, it is not recommended that one look upon historical matters with the benefit of hindsight to appear morally virtuous.
