👉 Diana's rendition of this song is unique and amazing. She has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her general range is C3-C7, the main working C3-C6) and her voice sometimes has polyphonic overtones. (Not everyone can hear that and many just say: There's something in her voice... that's it!)

In 2019 Diana sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 15 years old). This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered this unique competition and won twice.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans. She called us Friends.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here in "You are Super" as a juror, gave Diana a small apartment (37m²/ 398 ft²) in Moscow with the words: Live and sing!
There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy.
*Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is also a sponsor and a juror in this competition. His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash Qudaibergen. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Krutoy is also still in touch with Diana and he introduced her to Brandon Stone. The result: 1st CD in December 2021 and in June 2022 there was a gold disc.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh, It's Not Yet Evening" th-cam.com/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/w-d-xo.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

Not sure if you have heard of Amira Willighangen, she was a self taught opera singer at the age of 8, but this is her performance at age 11 it is mind blowing André Rieu & Amira - O Mio Babbino Caro/ also check out 15 year old Emma Kok with Andre Rieu, he gives young singers a chance to showcase their talents I think you will find them amazing and really good

After being mistreated, beaten, and abandoned twice before the age of 4, Diana suffered from a serious language disability which suggested that she was mentally handicapped and this was one of the reasons why she had been abandoned. When she learned to sing she was not like all children who learn for pleasure but for her it was probably a matter of life and death. Although the woman who adopted her would never have abandoned her, her survival instinct inevitably suggested that mastery of singing was desperately needed. Endowed with great skill and stimulated by the energy of despair, she reaches a stratospheric level very early on. Since then she has lived happily with her family but has kept the extraordinary impulse of her dramatic childhood.
In addition to being such a beautiful artist, she is a moving survivor of hell.

Great reaction! If you like her stage presence and that tribal sound you should listen to Rechenka (The River) which she sang at 14. This is considered one of her masterpieces, even at such a young age
It is based on Russian folktales about a young betrothed orphan girl who goes to the river, the boundary between the living and the dead, to ask her deceased mother's blessing for her marriage.

Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother at age 3. Because of this beginning, she had speech problems and was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talent was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

Thank you for your openness regarding Diana vs Dimash. So I've heard so many singers similar to Dimash who, even in their teens, sang complete operas and operettas and musicals absolutely perfectly and with an outstanding voice!!! and that's why a Dimash doesn't knock me off my chair. It lacks the uniqueness that I find in Diana. The sound of her singing voice is 100% unmistakable. Diana has voice colors that are absolutely unique in the world, coupled with a captivatingly personal identity. Nobody sings like her, absolutely nobody and I don't find this total uniqueness in Dimash. I'm not interested in who can possibly sing an octave more or less; that's not a criterion by which I judge a singer. A fantastic singer but.....

Welcome to Diana. No matter which song you choose, she always gives 110%. If interested, she also has a channel with her early performances, when she was very young. As for guitar, if you haven't already, check out Tina S. Most of her videos are when she was a teenager. Easily one of the best guitarists I have ever heard. Started with Classical Guitar around 6 years old. After a long absence she has reimerged with her band Spin Twice. Enjoy both. For Tina, start Moonlight Sonata, Through the fire and flames, For the love of god.

I don't like Dimash: his upper range sounds EXACTLY like a woman, whereas Diana's lower range sounds divine. I am much more comfortable when a singer sounds divine than when he sounds like someone from the opposite sex.
I personally don't think there is anything wrong with having the ability to sing like that as a male. Have you heard Jeff Buckley, Thom Yorke, Joshua Homme? They all have the ability to reach notes and registers most would only associate with females, and they ROCK!

Plus I don't normally listen to stuff like Diana, and had it not been for me starting this channel, I probably still wouldn't have heard her.
