Granger, only cuz you asked; On the ends of your wood stack maybe try to criss-cross (lay 2 or 3 facing one way and 2 or 3 opposite way on top, and repeat...) Do that as high as your stack is. Those ends will hold up the middle of the stack. Have done a LOT of wood in my day.

I also breastfed and felt the same way as you. No point in both of us being complete zombies plus it’s more work for me to pump. My husband was amazing on day shift… he kept the house clean, cooked and was on baby duty so I could nap. It worked for us. Glad you found what works for y’all. Seeing the book brought tears to my eyes, can’t wait to try and buy one! The work ethics and lessons you are instilling in your children will help them go far in life. The book made me cry. I have taught pre-k for 27 years. I have a soft spot for children. Being a boy mom and having a grandaughter too makes me very soft hearted watching this. What a beautiful thought of River in Heaven and what he is doing every day. I hope I can buy a couple of books before they all sell out. God bless y'all. Amazing!!!

I just starred watching “The Smiths” and I love you all already. Your story touched my heart on a very deep level. I have walked the path of loss on a different level just one step below your loss. My loss turned my life, my 9ur old (she is now 31) daughters life and many others inside out. The path of healing from loss is a lifetime it RV and flows.. @Apex Studios well, I'm a girl, and those chunks of wood were pretty big. Also, dad liked getting wood from honey locust trees. Some had seven inch thorns. It wasn't a pleasant experience, especially on cold, wet wintry days.
Thanks for your prayers for our firefighters. We have been dealing with the fires for 10 weeks straight. It is so sad in Tahoe right now. Maybe a benefit show when it is all over.
What a beautiful book! We lost our only daughter at 2 months old due to SIDS in 1989. That was a long long time ago. It does get better but I still cry sometimes. River will always be a part of you. One of my sons (there were 7), who was only 18 months at the time of her death celebrates her birthday every year with HIS 3 daughters and even took them to the “Flower Park” to leave flowers on her grave while he still lived in the area. Everyone grieves and finds positive ways to move forward and heal. No doubt working on this book brought many waves of healing grief for you. What a blessing to use it to benefit others. River did not live, or die in vain and one day we will all be reunited.
Your mission is accomplished over and over. I'm moved to tears and inspired and proud and giggling all within a few moments. Thank you for sharing your days, your heart, and your faith with us.
Your family is such a Godsend...in a million ways. I pray for God to protect each one of you and the ministry each of you have. For as soon as any good shines through...Satan will be on the attack. Such an awesome time to premiere this book to help your family keep River apart of your everyday life. I have lost 2 children. There are days that are better then others. But I keep them with me always. I have spaces in my home for them in my yard I have a memory garden that keeps things growing for them. I add to it every year to keep it go in. It helps me give them something bring them things. I have can have quiet conversations with my heart and them. Losing a child is one the hardest struggles I ever faced. We do what do just to get to next moment the next day. Thank you for your honest everyday feeling raw emotion and tribute to your son. Your family is beautiful and thank you for sharing all the milestones and struggles. It is the little things.....

Oh, Amber, your book is absolutely beautiful!!! I sat here and cried my heart out because it's so bittersweet. I too lost my son 6 yrs ago on October 4th and I know the pain all too well. Even though all of our grandchildren are over 14 yrs old, I still want to get a copy. The drone footage of Washington was beautiful. I live in Colorado for all of my life and I still am in awe of the beauty in the Rockies. I call it God's beauty. Breathtaking. Kudos to you for making the children do chores. Especially for the Smith fam. Many contexts. First responders, biblically running into the fire, running toward your problems and not away from them, and I could go on and on. Oh amber , I haven't had time to write lately but I have been watching. I just sob when I watch every single video. I keep praying God's hand be over you all. This book is absolutely beautiful. My kids love your family and we pray for you often. I was excited to show them to sweet baby brother of beautiful brave river man. I only have a few minutes but I want you to know I am so proud of you all and Granger is growing so much in the lord his light is do present when he talks. You amber have literally become such a gentle answer and ate truly a amazing example of a proverbs 31 woman. I feel without pain we don't grow and you two have taken what would bring others down and made it's do visible it is Jesus!!! I'm crying as I write this it is so all about Jesus. I have grown in the lord since finding out of family and river moving in with Jesus earlier but you page has been so enciurgeing it shows me no matter what happens God uses it!!! I am privileged to have watched the entire journey and Lok forward to the future of your family and what rivers legacy will do for the broken and lost! River seemed to almost know in these sweet videos I watch of him Jesus would call him home sooner. Almost as if he was living on you all more just cuz he knew his time was shorter. What an amazing encourgement it is one day you will see him again. I cried about the maverick thing before that video I said the same thing Granger said in the video if this wouldn't have been they wouldn't have maverick Jesus knows all and river lives in maverick but he is apart of all of you and Jesus. I know he will do great things. I keep reading about Paul and I see you both living the bold life of a diciples that saw pain but wrote beautiful scripture of goodness and mercy of Jesus. In jail he wrote good things not because he did anything wrong but just because the world is full of death, sin and sickness. It's boldness like y'all's that shows Jesus! God bless you guys. I expected my kids to help out, and I see the same training happening with my two daughters (they each have 5 kids!) and it warms my heart. My loss turned my life, my 9ur old (she is now 31) daughters life and many others inside out. The path of healing from loss is a lifetime it RV and flows..

@Apex Studios well, I'm a girl, and those chunks of wood were pretty big. Also, dad liked getting wood from honey locust trees. Some had seven inch thorns. It wasn't a pleasant experience, especially on cold, wet wintry days.
Thanks for your prayers for our firefighters. We have been dealing with the fires for 10 weeks straight. It is so sad in Tahoe right now. Maybe a benefit show when it is all over.

What a beautiful book! We lost our only daughter at 2 months old due to SIDS in 1989. That was a long long time ago. It does get better but I still cry sometimes. River will always be a part of you. One of my sons (there were 7), who was only 18 months at the time of her death celebrates her birthday every year with HIS 3 daughters and even took them to the “Flower Park” to leave flowers on her grave while he still lived in the area. Everyone grieves and finds positive ways to move forward and heal. No doubt working on this book brought many waves of healing grief for you. What a blessing to use it to benefit others. River did not live, or die in vain and one day we will all be reunited.
Your mission is accomplished over and over. I'm moved to tears and inspired and proud and giggling all within a few moments. Thank you for sharing your days, your heart, and your faith with us.

I have lost 2 children. There are days that are better then others. But I keep them with me always. I have spaces in my home for them in my yard I have a memory garden that keeps things growing for them. I add to it every year to keep it go in. It helps me give them something bring them things. I have can have quiet conversations with my heart and them. Losing a child is one the hardest struggles I ever faced. We do what do just to get to next moment the next day.
Thank you for your honest everyday feeling raw emotion and tribute to your son. Your family is beautiful and thank you for sharing all the milestones and struggles. It is the little things.....

Oh, Amber, your book is absolutely beautiful!!! I sat here and cried my heart out because it's so bittersweet. I too lost my son 6 yrs ago on October 4th and I know the pain all too well. Even though all of our grandchildren are over 14 yrs old, I still want to get a copy. The drone footage of Washington was beautiful. I live in Colorado for all of my life and I still am in awe of the beauty in the Rockies. I call it God's beauty. Breathtaking. Kudos to you for making the children do chores. Granger.... As a Christian, singer/songwriter myself, I can’t stop thinking of the last video when you talked about first responders “running to the fire.” What an incredible title that would make. Especially for the Smith fam. Many contexts. First responders, biblically running into the fire, running toward your problems and not away from them, and I could go on and on. There are so many lyrics here waiting to be written. This really seems to be part of your life’s story. I certainly hope Granger sees this, lol. I’ve already got a verse down. ☺️🎶🎤

Oh gosh, yes. We had a member of our family pass tonight from complications of Covid. He was my cousin, three grown kids, wife holding his hand when he passed. Only 60 yrs old, healthy...it was a shock.

Oh amber , I haven't had time to write lately but I have been watching. I just sob when I watch every single video. I keep praying God's hand be over you all. This book is absolutely beautiful. My kids love your family and we pray for you often. I was excited to show them to sweet baby brother of beautiful brave river man. I only have a few minutes but I want you to know I am so proud of you all and Granger is growing so much in the lord his light is do present when he talks. You amber have literally become such a gentle answer and ate truly a amazing example of a proverbs 31 woman. I feel without pain we don't grow and you two have taken what would bring others down and made it's do visible it is Jesus!!! I'm crying as I write this it is so all about Jesus. I have grown in the lord since finding out of family and river moving in with Jesus earlier but you page has been so enciurgeing it shows me no matter what happens God uses it!!! I am privileged to have watched the entire journey and Lok forward to the future of your family and what rivers legacy will do for the broken and lost! River seemed to almost know in these sweet videos I watch of him Jesus would call him home sooner. Almost as if he was living on you all more just cuz he knew his time was shorter. What an amazing encourgement it is one day you will see him again. I cried about the maverick thing before that video I said the same thing Granger said in the video if this wouldn't have been they wouldn't have maverick Jesus knows all and river lives in maverick but he is apart of all of you and Jesus. I know he will do great things. I keep reading about Paul and I see you both living the bold life of a diciples that saw pain but wrote beautiful scripture of goodness and mercy of Jesus. In jail he wrote good things not because he did anything wrong but just because the world is full of death, sin and sickness. It's boldness like y'all's that shows Jesus! God bless you guys. Love your perseverance with the kids and teaching them the value of work. Your investment will repay itself many times over in life. I expected my kids to help out, and I see the same training happening with my two daughters (they each have 5 kids!) and it warms my heart.
